DRK slowly lining up an artillery of fundamentals prior to unleashing a media blitz.

 - consolidation of Darksend technology and "background anonymisation" service so that coins are ready to go at any time
 - near on 1000 strong masternode lineup
 - new DRK tor network services arriving on roadmap that take the entire project into a whole new dimension
 - only weeks away from open sourcing
 - Kristov Atlas code review looking like it's going to be a massive thumbs up judging by his spontaneous favourable posts of late

...and all this being kept quiet from the general public so far as far as media articles go. That's because this is all being honed and bolted down first but make no mistake, the batteries are approaching full charge again and this lot is going to hit the media big time.

Sorry, forgot one more thing....

 - a community who have "seen it all" as far as trolls, fud, pumps and dumps are concerned. So when this stuff all goes public and the bullsh*ttrs come round here telling us how there's too much competition, or it's the"wrong" technology or "it's going down", it's just gonna slide like a fried egg off a nuclear submarine.

Still cannot understand why would the market cap matter. It's like LTC have 6x more coins at the moment. Isn't that pointless?

does  market cap = number of coins mined to date ?

yep

No it isn't.

Market cap = number of minted coins * price.

It matters because every investment gets effectively, a percentage of the market cap. You are buying a piece of the total supply. There aren't that many DRK in the grand scheme of things. 4,617,852 DRK is much smaller than most of the other players. What someone has to pay for your coins is directly related to the available supply.

If another coin was also around .0058 BTC but there were 10,000,000 of the coins, you would be getting less value buying in.

If the total supply of coins isn't large that isn't necessarily bad or good. It only means that's how many there are. That said, you have to know how many there are and the price of the coin to understand what value that you are getting.

It matters to me each time I add an mn what percentage of the network I am at and what percentage of the coin supply I have. Too much and I'm taking too much risk. Too little, and I can't make a difference. I have no interest if I can't be part of the movement of the market.

Lastly, the market cap is indicative of the total value of the coin. Apple Computer's market cap is 618.55 billion USD. You can't look at the share price of $99 and make a decision on the share price alone. The market cap divided by the number of outstanding shares in the company is what prices the shares. It also defines the value of what you hold after you've bought it.

edit: I edited that last paragraph for clarity

How can Doge have a Developer score of 90%, I mean I understand community, but development really?

Because the "metric" is a complete joke. It's an arbitrary number based on things like number of stars on github, the number of open issues, etc. It literally is worthless. Frankly the entire concept of the ranking system on the link vertoe posted is worthless. It may be good at spotting up and coming currencies, but established currencies won't be well represented at all.

Anyone peering at the 5-minute MACD waiting for it to tip over just there just got bloody nosed when a 669 DRK shot came crashing through, blowing the spread gap out to about 4000 Sats.

5-minute volume now up at nearly 900 DRK and 24 Hr Vol now over 100 BTC.

This is new developments which were not part of the big pump in the spring starting to be priced-in. Anyone wanting to participate in the ride better get in now as half the stuff hasn't even been announced yet.

In market cap yes.

The metric you posted is based on number of git commits, forks, issues; the number of reddit community subscribers, the number of facebook likes, etc.
