Poker.DRK

I have no idea why a perfectly good post indicating that master nodes running a domain service with a .drk extension should be deleted.

add to that the potential for master nodes to host popular gambling services such as poker. hence: poker.drk

So. Here we are: Waiting.

There are 4.6m coins in circulation and they all have a home.  All those months of $millions changing hands has pretty much left us with those that believe and those that are waiting.

* RC4 -> RC5
* Audit reviews

That gets us to stable, then

* Open Source DarkSend

But, don't forget that Bitcoin is still Beta software; and DRK is based on Bitcoin. RC5 is basically a validation that the anonymity works and people can rely on it.

There will be a period of hype and pumping. We have to get through that and create the narrative of why people should use DRK. Kristov is actually doing a pretty good job, but while he has a position to shout louder than most, he is but one voice.

We need to educate the gambling sites, the porn sites and the sites that want to remain hidden from view about the the privacy benefits of bitcoin vs DRK.

More importantly, how they can leverage the media and brand recognition of bitcoin, while providing the protection that DRK can afford.

Take a look at this recent Newsweek story - gambling sites increasing accepting Bitcoin because of the anonymity it affords.

If only they knew.

And that is the point. They don't know. And they won't know until they read more stores about businesses like Coinbase closing down accounts because their customers are being shunned for using their services.

Quote
“Bitcoin is not just for people looking to buy anonymous weed or micropayments to Africa,” he tells Newsweek. “It’s useful for poker too. We are focused on anonymity and for players looking to control their bankrolls, we have the fastest payouts in the industry.” Other well-trafficked bitcoin gambling sites include BetCoin and SatoshiBet.

edit

our next PR campaign should not just focus on cointelegraph or coindesk.

It should include a direct attack on the media outlets that the gaming industry uses.

IF EVER THERE WAS A PRODUCT OF ITS TIME, DRK IS THE PRODUCT THAT CAN RUN THE GLOBAL ONLINE GAMING INDUSTRY. THE GLOBAL ONLINE PORN INDUSTRY

interesting...its very quite in here!  Sort of the eye of the hurricane kind of thing going on.....peaceful!

Quite what Richard? Oh, quite quiet! (/sarcastic)   Wink

Yes it is. Just what will happen next, we know not, we are but waiting for you to invite us all to a DRK wine tasting to celebrate....
hahaha... yeah yeah.  Id like to have a DRK wine tasting for dark holders / community at our winery.   To those that have asked to buy wine with Dark... obviously we accept Dark... Sorry for the delay in replying,   ive been on vacation and i havent trained the staff on how to use the darkcoin payment option.   Which reminds me it would be interesting if its possible to print a transaction receipt from the wallet?

All you really have to do is make an image on the "old" server and copy it to the "new" server
Launch "new" server
Create a new masternode genkey and getaccountaddress 0 in the local console
Find your new public IP on the server
Alter both your local and remote CONF file with the new info
Send the 1000DRK to the new getaccountaddress 0
/user/bin/darkcoind on server
masternode start on local console

Not much more to it than that

I am so close !

Now my wallet tells me:

inbound port is not open. Please open it and try again. (19999 for testnet and 9999 for mainnet)

Interesting - it worked before it should work now.
Access your modem/router and port forwarding open 9999

cant be that, all the others (MN's) are running from here too
i did not change the remote CONF file ! that might be it ?!
or is that in Amazon (server) i have the same security setting as the others (MN's)

Considering you guys don't have a GUI, I'd say you're more like IRC chat  Grin

LOL - hopefully we upgrade ourselves to Skype levels soon enough;)

GUI is nothing, GUI is just for marketing, the tech is more important.

CryptoNote is a good tech, multisig is a good tech, p2p anon trustless using multisig is a good tech, central mixer... it's a ok one, but not fit well into the p2p nature of crypto coin, so it's a less good tech. Though I understand it is easy to implement and many coins claiming anon using it, including DRK.

Because DRK did not use the best tech, it can't be the leader of the anonymous coin, it was in leading position for some time only because of promo and hype.

I think xmr and drk can win together.

because drk is based on bitcoin, its APIs are the same or very similar. those who run bitcoin can run drk, in place of or alongside. think porn sites adn gambling that now accept bitcoin. once customers start to get scared of being linked to using these services, drk can run alongside very easily, quickly and therefore cheaply.

drk using 8 rounds of mixing from within the wallet, that's pretty good tech, imho

xmr is different tech. those that don't like bitcoin, they can run xmr. there are plenty of takers.

XMR can win, not DRK, for the evident reasons stated above.

well?
