I like Iris too.  The DarkNet is almost exclusively for illegal purposes. Darkcoin is about privacy and civil liberties. So maybe we should just avoid "Dark" altogether.

IRIS by Darkcoin, forsee the future of privacy today.

As a MN owner, I like the idea of making slow (or basic, you name it) browsing of MasterNet free, but as soon as one wants to watch videos, download, stream etc, make them pay. This way you get MUCH MORE people motivated to try out the service, and the ones willing to have something fast will pay.

Not realy sure want to run a XYZcoin exchange on my MN.
If the XYZcoin come from crime, and can trace to my MN, im in a bad posture.
Services where i cant know what transit on, im just a services provider.
Like a routeur, that why DRK is the coin

And here, we talk about darkcoin not other coin. If we run mail server does we have to run a fax server too ? no.

Let others coins find a way do exchange with DRK in the future.

Fiat to DRK by providing services is the best direction. because there is more fiat than XXX coin in the world.

Dont think small  Grin

someone did suggest, very sensibly, a possible tick box against each service you do and don't want to run.

Any comments about current price and likely movement of price??

Far too low, and up.

Read the last 20 pages. I think MN's are about to get a whole lot more valuable.

I don't know how to technically explain it, but if I were doing this... i'd go for the TOR type network and also include hosting/domain stuff somehow into the mix.... then I would allow general usage to be free (i.e. allow anyone to browse the public web with it, but have the fees for hosting/dns stuff). You'd get a lot more people learning about DRK by offering the basic service for free and let them upgrade to more access if they like it or are interested in getting into the DRK net)...

Sir Crouton, we have a winning idea coming through the DRKness

+1 Yes, organizer's using some good lateral thinking there (probably why he or she is an organizer Wink).

Regarding potential access fees to the TOR-like network... I would advocate for a non-daily fee and go for something like monthly/yearly or even better just a 1 time fee and price it pretty low with particular sensitivity to third-world/emerging markets... so REALLY LOW is what i'm getting at...

Would it be possible to offer an anti ddos network for business?

in other words, the to be reached ip is hidden by DRK TOR therefore the DDOS attack would only be succesful if all masternodes would be attacked. Companies would pay for this service thats for sure.

Kind of  powerpumped anti ddos network

That's potentially an astoundingly good use for the MN network! I don't know enough about DDOS attacks (and what the latest techniques/vulnerabilities are) to know whether there's a real opportunity with this. But as thelonecrouton said a few posts above, if it's effectively offering distributed hosting this could be a game changer and a major reason for DRK to become more valuable (and will need serious dev resources as he's pointed out in a subsequent post).

putting zero was a stupid choice.

How much would you pay for gas? 4 dollars a gallon, 1 dollar again, 0 dollars gas is free...

Not necessarily, it weeds out the negative nancies...

I don't think you can differentiate between people who selected nothing because they wont use the service and people who selected nothing because they are cheap bastards.

I vote "nothing" because I think it should be free.

But anyway we need more details about how it will work and be implemented...

Distributed webhosting, sure...  Smiley

edit: This alone is potentially worth serious money.

Then, lets go and get some VC money, and plug into the Darkcoin MN API  Grin

Doing it from scratch is a lot of work, offering existing suppliers in that market a way of plugging in to the MasterNet might bring far faster results.

eg, if Evan were to contact someone like http://tronkle.com/index.php/gdh/description ...

For any of this to happen the core team is going to have to expand significantly, new partners are going to have to be brought on board, Evan's coding fingers are probably worn nearly to stumps as it is.

edit: get me some VC money, we'll simply BUY tronkle (or someone) ... Wink
