MyDashWallet Enables Private Transactions on Mobile, Easy Tipping Across Multiple Platforms

MyDashWallet has released a number of improvements, including easy privacy functions and a powerful tipping platform.

A web interface modeled after MyEtherWallet, MyDashWallet is a treasury-funded platform that allows for a web wallet experience, something that Dash had been lacking for years. Dash (known earlier as Darkcoin and XCoin) is one of the biggest alternative cryptocurrencies with a focus on transaction speed and privacy. Due to the privacy of the transactions, Dash coin managed to occupy one of the leading positions behind the Bitcoin when it became clear that bitcoin could not offer the appropriate level of confidentiality to users. Despite the negative attitude towards the coin from some countries, Dash is considered one of the most stable cryptocurrencies.

One of the positive factors on Dash is the fact that it has seen a sustained level of adoption even during the recent crypto downturn. In that period, Dash was added to Abra, a platform which acts as an online bank, where investors can spend their cryptos. In that same period, it has also be added to Bitit and Negocie coins. That’s a good indicator that Dash has what it takes to be mass adopted as a usable currency, which is good for its long-term value growth.

Important - Dash Evolution v1 (13.0 - Evolution v1 - Mainnet) is scheduled to be released in June. Dash Evolution is meant to play the same role as SegWit or the lightning network. It will make Dash transactions faster, and cheaper and hasten the rate of adoption.

Gaining Traction in Developing World: Nigerian Exchange CoinOYO Adds Dash

Nigerian cryptocurrency exchange CoinOYO recently announced the addition of Dash to its offerings. Concerning Dash, CoinOYO also gave a nice endorsement:

“It is a good project backed by credible people.”

Many in the developed world focus on large-scale integrations, hoping for uptake by Coinbase and other major exchanges. Last year’s addition of Dash to both Bitfinex and Kraken resulted in huge price movements as the market saw these as significant developments. However, services like CoinOYO may give Dash an even bigger boost in the long run.

Yeah, the potential is certainly there with both Dash btc value and Dash fiat value on the rise :

We are still below where I would expect Dash to be today. Dash seems to be in the 'keep your head down and deliver' phase where others are in the hype and promises phase. With BTC back 1/2 way to its ATH, Dash is still far below 50% of the ATH. We should really be near ETH's price.

This has always been the case though with Dash. Underdog. Which is fine with me, my MN's continue to stack returns waiting for the nest run, too bad I wasn't able to collect more in the 300's. Damn you taxman!

Wikileaks Calls for “Global Blockade” of Coinbase after Coinbase Bans the Wikileaks’ Shop

Wikileaks called for a “global blockade” of Coinbase this past Friday after Coinbase issued a letter intending to shut down Wikileaks’ shop on the Coinbase merchant network.

Wikileaks said that “Coinbase has blocked the official @Wikileaks shop”, which sells various branded items like clothing, stickers, posters, etc “from its platform without notice or explanation.” Wikileaks published a letter they received stating that “Coinbase is a regulated Money Service Business under Fincen”, which is the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Coinbase said that they are “obligated to implement regulatory compliance mechanisms,” and that “upon careful review, we believe your account has engaged in prohibited use in violation of our Terms of Service and we regret to inform you that we can no longer provide you with access to our service.” Coinbase also gave instructions for how to withdraw any remaining funds in the Wikileaks’ shop account.

Why not just use the same address? You don't need to change addresses every transaction.

I have a question about the Dash tech. I want to automate accounting of our fund, but obviously our Dash address keeps changing. We don't really care much about the anonimity feature, and in this case the changing address is actually a nuisance. How will Dash Evolution deal with this? Shouldn't there simply be an option to turn off the address changes?

Dash Presents At The Blockchain and Bitcoin Conference in Russia

The Dash Core Chief Operating Officer, Robert Wiecko, presented Dash, its accomplishments, and its goals to an audience at the Blockchain and Bitcoin Conference in Russia on April 17-18, of which Dash was a General Sponsor.

Numerous pictures of Dash’s presence at the conference can be seen on the Dash.org website. In the video presentation recorded by Dash People, Robert mentioned how Evolution will be very important since it will be convenient like PayPal, Venmo, etc with the user experience that consumers already know. Robert added that he “believes it will be a kind of revolution for the industry.”

Robert answered questions afterwards, of which many were translated from Russian to English out of microphone range so not all of the questions were fully captured. However, in response to one question, Robert emphasized that Dash “is not an investment” and that the Dash team “is aiming for a payments network” where the team is “working on the entire ecosystem of the merchants that will be accepting Dash”. He added that it is “the use case that you already have with cash, but the difference is that you are being secured by the blockchain and your information is private.” Another audience member asked what advantages does Dash have compared to other cryptocurrencies. Robert responded by emphasizing how Dash differentiates itself.

Same here. Already using that website a couple of weeks now and I can save my favorite coins in their website and tie it up with my account there. Very convenient, I must say, especially when I need to do some research on my coins on the fly.

The market is recovering very well together with BTC and I'm quite happy that Dash is going alongside with them. Maybe we can see DASH at $1500 area again in the coming months? Wink
