Bank of America Stops Lending to Several Gun Manufacturers, Strengthening Case for Crypto

Bank of America will cease providing lending services to companies manufacturing certain types of firearms.

As reported by Bloomberg, Bank of America, the second-largest bank in the US, will no longer lend to firearms manufacturers involved in selling semi-automatic rifles deemed “military-style” to the civilian populace. This comes after a wave of pressure on banks and payment providers to restrict their services provided to firearms manufacturers in the wake of recent highly-publicized shootings. Increasing financial pressure could cause manufacturers to cease production of controversial items or risk harm to their business.

Rockefeller Family Invests in Blockchain Tech

The infamous Rockefeller family, made rich by oil at the turn of the 20th century, will now be investing in blockchain and cryptocurrency technology in the 21st century through their venture arm, Venrock.

The investment involves a partnership with Coinfund, a cryptocurrency investor group, to assist entrepreneurs in their endeavors to launch blockchain related businesses. David Pakman, a Venrock partner, emphasized the partnership saying that they have “been making investments and actually helping to architect a number of different crypto economies and crypto token-based projects”. Venrock has a total of $2.6 billion USD of assets under management and counts Nest and Dollar Shave Club as previous investment successes.

Pakman further elaborated that Venrock is investing for long-term gains of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology and is not concerned with the short-run. Pakman mentioned how “there are a lot of crypto traders in the market [and] there are a lot of cryptocurrency hedge funds”, but that Venrock “is different [since] it looks a little bit more like venture capital.” Coinfund, founded in 2015 and based in Brooklyn, NY, has had its own successes such as Kik, the messaging app that has ventured into blockchain.

Hello 2nd green bar on Dash 1wk chart interval : https://cryptowat.ch/markets/poloniex/dash/btc/1w
Here is looking forward to seeing more green bars, we seem to have gathered a nice pool to pull these green bars from :

 Roll Eyes

Edit : second green bar on Bitcoin's 1w interval chart as well, plus a move in the $7400 range just now :
https://cryptowat.ch/markets/bitstamp/btc/usd/1w

Edit : Damn, Bitcoin is getting pumped hard .. $7700
Edit : and there goes Dash second green bar, surpressed by Bitcoin's fast price rise  Undecided

Could this be the end of the bear market for both Bitcoin and the altcoins though? Time will tell....

How much of dash was premined? and is there any sharing masternode pool to be a part of it
Dash was never premined [...]

It was instamined, which means instead of being mined by the devs before the project is released it was mined right after by the devs before other's joined in. The difference is only a technicality.

Not that it makes DASH scam, but you can't hide the fact it happened.

It was not mined just by the devs right after release, it was mined by many other miners as well.
The difference between a intentional and pre-announced premine and an accidental instamine is much more then just a technicality, they form different categories.

Nobody is hiding the fact that the instamine happened, not sure why you felt the need to say that.. it is public knowledge in Dash forums since 2014 and I pointed to Dash instamine history in my previous post (same link as UdjinM6 also provided)

People should really avoid using words like premine with regards to Dash, when they don't really understand it's definition.
To those people intend on pressing Dash in the premine corner anyways : it's not working anymore, try something else.

As I understand that facts are these. It wasn't premined or instamined. (Whatever instamined is actually meant to mean). The term 'fast mined' is more accurate.  The emmission was too fast in the beginning due to bug in the code. And Evan jumped the gun with the commencement  of the project. Also there wasn't a windows binary for mining (boo hoo, who as a serious crypto hacker uses windoze anyway?). You can argue that Evan intentionally jumped the gun and / or intentionally left a fastmine bug in the code. This is where the scam meme originates. You can equally well give benefit of doubt that they were unintentional.

Regardless of the motive you need to also consider it is a fact that no-one at that time knew what Dash would grow into, not Evan or anyone else. The coins of that time had very little value for a reason. There has been ample time for early beneficiaries of the fast mine to sell on open market. It is my opinion that there is no fair way to distribute any coin. And the Dash way, flaws and all is much better than most.

An Open Letter Response to Purse.io

I just received an email from Purse.io, a service allowing customers to shop on Amazon with Bitcoin, that I used to use:

“Hey there,

You made your first purchase on Purse… saving tons of $ on your Amazon order.

But, it’s been so long… nearly 4 months.

Anything we can do to woo you back?”

Below is my response:

They sent me the same email.  I wrote back and asked them to give me the bitcoin cash they got as a result of the bitcoin I had on deposit at the time of the fork.

CNN Airs Segment on Dash, But Misses the Mark

CNN recently aired a segment with our own Joel Valenzuela, who had a reporter follow him around town watching him spend Dash. In his role as editor of Dash Force News, Joel is paid, in Dash, directly from the Dash Blockchain and he lives a completely cash-free life. His hometown of Portsmouth, New Hampshire is home to numerous crypto-accepting businesses, many of which offer Dash as a payment option.

it was first mined by people who can compile the miner code on linux. and people who could not compile the miner on linux had to wait for the compiled windows binary.

Central Banks of India and Pakistan Crack Down on Banks using Cryptocurrencies

Last Friday, The Reserve Bank of India issued a statement that “all entities under its regulation would have three months to cut ties with any service dealing in cryptocurrency.” Around the same time, The State Bank of Pakistan decreed similar regulations on banks and financial entities under their regulatory domain.

The global prices of cryptocurrencies moved little, but local exchange Coinome said that the local price of Bitcoin dropped more than $1,000 compared to the global price. It should also be noted that these regulations are not bans on cryptocurrencies since a ban would require legislative action. These regulations are only for banks and financial entities that must bow to the regulatory power of their respective central bank. However, it does significantly impact the bottleneck of exchanging fiat money for cryptocurrencies and vice versa.

A Change.org petition has thus far received over 20,000 signatures to influence the Reserve Bank of India and government to reconsider their crypto stance.
