There's been several months of improvement by a small team. If you think that gives anywhere near the same result as hundreds of people contributing over 4+ years, you're delusional. The reason it changed drastically is because it was full of bugs and utterly incomplete. That's not exactly a positive.

Anyway, discussing potential technical merits is of very little interest, fact is, DRK is making the news ( good or bad Tongue

), not Monero. The masternodes technology is perhaps not the best in terms of anonymity, but it does bring unique features and rewards to investors, bringing goodwill to the coin.

In this case I think it means the selling pressure following the crash in May is becoming really exhausted.

Darkcoin is originally a clone of Litecoin in case you didnt know that. Litecoins code base is 3 years old. Moneros codebase is originally from Bytecoin's which was made at the end of 2012.
If you actually know what you're doing, you'd see that Monero's developers changed the code quite a bit, so that it differs greatly from Bytecoin's now.

Darkcoin's codebase however, is relatively the same..making it 3 years behind Monero's...

So it may be 2 years old, but serious improvement only started 2 months ago. So Monero/Bytecoin are far newer and poorly tested.

Assuming you can prove that the initial keys were destroyed. I'm sure they were, but being "sure" of something isn't going to be enough after a certain market cap is reached.

RC4 is bound to be very exciting as we get our anonymity upgrades.

Evan (Duffield) can not even implement obsolete coinjoin/masternode anonymity, while Monero has modern ring-signatures based solution.
Also Monero is resistant against double-spending, even in case 51% attack.
