56 Masternodes would be pretty profitable considering almost no electricity usage to run them. Much better investment than mining equipment.

Now wait a minute.

It may be a better investment, but if everybody thought that and nobody would care to do energy expensive mining instead, then the coin would never keep the desired hashrate to secure the network.

The Masternodes are not here to secure the blockchain etc... they do a different job.

Without a secure transaction system the masternodes become pretty useless.

For people who already have the graphics cards, mining X11 is the best choice, those without are probably better off buying few thousand dark coins and running master nodes. Least that is how my math works out.

I'm working on setting up master nodes now and contemplating buying more to setup even more, but I would really like to be able to run multiple masternodes from one server instead of having to rent a dedicated and splitting it into several VP servers.

With current price, you make red numbers when mining. You can make almost double the DRK/day by renting your rig and buying at current price.
And with masternodes, getting 20% of miners payments ... What reason does one have to mine ? Except take it as a hobby project ?

From richest address link we can see there so many drks owner by fewer people.(743 address have 85.77% drks), this maybe the restrict for DRK's grow road.

We are really just at the start of Darkcoin's future. I have to wait for DRK to grow from $10/coin until $300/coin before I will allow myself to sell some to pay for mining costs to date.

Millions of DRK coins have now been traded since January. There are plenty of coins out there if you want to buy.

So I guess the only thing stopping you from holding more than 1,000 DRK coins is you.

If you want some help working out an investment strategy, there is a great book that was written a while ago now but it is still very relevant today. There is even a public domain copy you can download for free, if you can use Google.

Not to mention that a lot of those address including the number 1 are exchange wallets.

Hey you have 56k dark? Just wondering are you gonna run 56 masternodes?

For those who haven't been keeping with our competitors this weekend...

Cryptcoin has exploded spectacularly immediately after that BTC-E rumour pump.

XC just announced lolzy marraige plans with an obscure alt called CacheCoin! Plans include swapping each-others core features, synch each-others live blockchains so they can do things to each-other, doing a "complete rewriting of the satoshi codebase", and making everything work on something called "proof of blockchain". Maybe someone had a sale on hot air & whitepapers. Despite a lots of publicised photo ops happening at the same time XC has fallen amongst disbelieving protests from the less gullible XC people, but tiny CacheCoin has already jumped from 90th to 67th in market cap in a few hours (no doubt the insiders who knew about the marraige have done very well for themselves).

However tempting it might be please don't go trolling them when they're down, it's entertaining enough just to sit with popcorn. Grin

Scam exposed by the devs, secret blocks holding vast number of coins, yet Cryptcoin still has plenty of buy orders. Proof that you can steal crypto candy from a baby and get away with it.

+101

A roll back plan and or switch off feature as part of every major upgrade would work well for everyone involved.

I've been wanting to see this info for 'FYI' purposes and maybe I missed it before.

Huge holder of DRK but I don't think I could run a MN by myself.
(not yet at least.....)

I'd rather see a stable DRK then be apart of the problem but...
...I'm sure some selfish and greedy unqualified individuals (bad actors) think they are the shit - ugh

You know what I mean - fucking losers :-P
(I do understand that the "patches" fix that kinda thing but.... LOL)

again

THANK YOU

Oh - and to publicly state to the idiot that hit me on PM about me not setting up a MN now rather then later...

I hold my coins for a stable system, rather then maybe be an issue.

Piss off mate....

Thats good. Although having people run unstable masternodes also helps identify problems at an early stage, rather than later.

Yup you are right. Send an email to [email protected] to receive 1% of entire DRK in existence to level things out. That's how I got mine!

Some Darkcoiners are very arrogant people. Just like early Bitcoiners, there is a secret group that believes that Darkcoins should be in "right" hands and not everyone deserves it. Sending an email solved the problem for me. Hope it does for you too.  Tongue

ROFL!! +1 for the lawls.  Cheesy

That was quite entertaining, but to reassure this distribution analyst: the recently announced World Darkcoin Foundation will be distributing free rights to DRK by grace to all the new generations that will be born.  There are plans to create national offices paid for by masternode profits of local and interested members and to help facilitate the coordination and distribution of said rights. (see past posts for more details: website under construction) So thousands of new coins will be put aside for thousands of newborns every day effectively making the distribution of Darkcoin universal.

The point is to make sure that the future generation will all be able to patrticipate in Darkcoin even when the price hits the roof. This way we will help create a world based on equal right to opportunity, we will create a new financial link between all the newborns of the world, they will no longer be born owning a part of the national debt, they will be born with immediate rights to the riches of the world no matter how mismanaged and disillusioned the state of fiat currencies will become because of the failures of others.

This will be a foundation for a gentle world where everyone participates in the same financial system, freely and as they see fit. For the riches of the universe are unlimited, just like the potential of Darkcoin and we will use that potential to help the developers create a world that revolves around Darkcoin for the betterment of humanity, our humanity and that of our children and their own one day, a world with a focus on the ever flowing truth of compassion and based on responsibility. Its time for the humanity to look after humanity.

Current distribution of World Darkcoin Foundation funds: Canada - 1000 DRK coins currently dedicated to children charity. (1 master node)

Please let me know if you would be interested in such a project.

Imagine the possibilities if a lot of us early adopters get involved. Its fantastic to know we already have 1 dedicated node for the project and nodes haven't even started payouts yet!

Like the Zen philosophy suggests, we alone are not zazen, we and others are zazen.

Is anyone else having trouble accessing darkcointalk.org?

Yes there is a problem with SSL certificates, for me it was just in Safari. On one machine I fixed it by removing the certificates, but it doesn't seem to work on my others. Try Firefox.

Odd... I'm on an android tablet, can't get the forum on any browser but Firefox. But at least I found it works there. Thanks!

Works fine for me on Firefox, Chrome, and IE.
