I've had some substantial progress on DarkSend and have figured out how to make our existing system as secure as ring signatures. Vastly improved security, no bloat (from the ring signatures) and without actually having to trust new cryptography (it hasn't been extensively tested like what DarkSend uses) . So I think it'll give us a HUGE advantage in the coming months. More to come soon, I'm going to start implementing this tomorrow.  Grin

What this means: I promised ring signatures to hype my coin and get tech-clueless people buying, I knew this couldn't be done anyway so now I retract from it. This whole thing is walking on thin air. It's innevitable the money will naturally shift towards a coin that has actually a solid base to deliver anonimity, and Bitcoin technology based coins aren't as they are fundamentally flawed for this goal.
What giveBTCpls means: I didn't buy DRK a few weeks ago, so I recently bought MRO, which is going nowhere fast. I am in denial about ring signatures causing horrible and unscaleable blockchain bloat, and am terrified that Darkcoin will shortly have an even better solution, so instead of behaving rationally I have come to this thread because the success of others fills me with peurile rage.

Sure thing, keep beting money on vaporware.

Darkcoin is here, it's real. DarkSend works. It's in use. And it's going to get even better. What vapourware are you talking about?  Grin

Evan promised ring signatures "in V2" when he knew he couldn't do it, just to keep money flowing outside cryptonote based coins. I can't trust such behaviour.

I am new here as of today but just reading your posts for the last hour or so you seem to not like this coin at all and if you don't trust the dev why are you even bothering to post here?? What are you trying to accomplish? *Man I really hate when I poke myself in the eye, keeps poking self in eye*

I know Warren Buffett isn't a friend of Alts - but he did give some good advice that is applicable here - he taught to buy the market leader in each niche. For anonymous crypto that is currently DARK. The others like Monero are far behind, and even if they have good ideas, either other competitors will beat them, or Dark will simply steal their ideas and implement them as well or better (I have a high opinion of the Dark dev). Either way it's foolish to invest in the distant also-rans rather than Dark, IMHO.

You are missing the point. Warren Buffett invested with 10+ years vista. When Warren Buffet bought shares of the Washington Post he lost money, 10 years later he made 380K off the original 10K investment.
What we know for sure is, ring signatures are basic for anonimity and Darkcoin is on a clear dead end there.
What matters at the end of the day the is the coin's functionality. The only reason Darkcoin has to exist is the anonimity factor, and MRO's tech is based on anonimity only and scalable. Marketing means shit nothing at the end of the day in this business. DOGE just put a Nascar car with their branding on national television and the price is crashing again.

What's interesting to me is all I hear is MRO this, MRO that. Why is MRO the de facto cryptonote coin? Why is it better than the others? What does it offer that they don't?  Huh It's not the first CN coin. Its market cap is way smaller than BCN's. Of course BCN is no angel either. I just don't get it.

...or he found something equally or better than them. Wouldn't put it past anyone at this point. Keep QQ'ing. It's so noble of you to come in here and warn us.

Ring signatures do not scale well, and Darkcoin marketing has been almost non-existant. You are confused.

And ring sigs are not particularly difficult to implement, the concept is not new. If Evan thinks he's come up with something better, that does scale well, I'm confident he has, as he's delivered on everything so far.

It's called progress, it happens when you have skilled people with vision and a work ethic.

And 'MROs tech' is a straight cut and paste of someone elses work. It has bloat issues that the MRO team are almost certainly not competent IMO to solve.

Right, Bitcoin was trying to get retail acceptance, maybe people buying a tshirt dont care about the transparent blockchain. But it is not fit for B2B, I am in the distribution business, and definitely you dont want your competition knowing who your providers are, when you buy inventory, at what price, when do you sell, at what price, is ridiculous, Bitcoin is not fit for B2B period. Darkcoin has a shot at it so I support it, I think too many people in this forums have technical knowledge but lack business experience to see the big picture.

This.

A lot people don't understand yet that Darkcoin will be mainstream.
Right now a lot of people think about a niche, darknet etc, but privacy, this is way bigger. Personal, business.

Look at the big picture. We're onto something, we'll make it happen.

OT but wow, Doge falling like a rock now...

Winning a ton on dark and losing a ton on doge.  what gives.  I thought doge was gonna have some kind of extended hype after all the cool things they've done lately.

Publicity does not replace the product my friend.

OT but wow, Doge falling like a rock now...

Smart money is moving into DRK. The standard price of DOGE is 100 sat. it's now 84 and falling.

Where do you find the value in sats for any given coin?

It's a count of how many 0.00000001 there are. So DRK's price of .01947 is 1,947,000 sat

You can change it on coinmarketcap to BTC instead of USD
