When the ring signatures have appeared ? What are the advantages ring signatures have over darksend and what disadvantages ? I can hear only trolls with posts like (...) .

You can find your answers here:

http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/FAQ#Is_Darkcoin_technologically_superior_to_other_anonymous_solutions.3F

I can see it now. There is only shitclones like monero what implemented a quarter of what is need it to became a true anonymous coin .

This is as dumb as saying DRK is a clone of BTC.
DRK uses BTC as a base
MRO uses BCN as a base

get your facts straight.

After a while, the developers will begin selling in need of money. Slowly. Needs quite a bit. Until then, we know that slapped...  Huh

Oke let's see. I'm holding my btc for months now (before Doge, nice community,  but i'm not into crypto to lose money but to save money). So DRK appeared on my radar a few weeks ago (still kicking myself from not bying) and I purchased a decent amount a couple a days ago.
My only concern is: why wouldn't it crash like ALL the other altcoins did, that's the only reason why i'm not really into altcoins and was/am a big bitcoinbeliever. But I could really see Bitcoin as the big brother and DRK as the anonymous little brother.
I really love the concept of DRK but I'm just concerned about the fact that all the other altcoins have been pumped and dumped.
Could someone convince me to HODL! or even buy more...
Mate, I've been here from almost the beginning. If there is one thing I'll tell you honestly, it's that the coin is being pumped. That is the truth. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is lying to you.
I have quite a bit of DRK and I've made some money off it. Just don't listen to people speaking good tidings. This is reminiscent of the vertcoin pump in february. Don't get caught in all the hoopla.
What's surprising is the sensible regulars who I thought wouldn't get caught up in the "to the moon" craze are also cheering people on in this pump.

This has been over and over again.
1) 5 or so pump attempts and no dump. Any other coin done that?
2) Other coins are purely about speculation/trading. This one brings value as it has a real use for it. Actual business use cases.
3) Darkcoin is constantly developed, with a real people behind it, not hiding behind forum nicknames.

One could expand and go on and on, but I think these clues are enough.
Think and make your own mind.

any1 can help me plzzz my file .bat config this but i still got HW all time -.-" how can i fix it my Card 7970:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://drkpool.com:3333 -u xxx.1 -p xxx -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192

trying lowering your -I down and see if oyu can get it running without HWs. Also you only need shaders or thread-concurrency. I usually just use shaders

I can appreciate that; we've all seen the familiar spike and collapse pattern in altcoins. No one can predict the future, but here are some thoughts:

1. Warren Buffett famously taught that you should invest in the top 1 or 2 companies in an industry. The leaders tend to have the best ideas, and can borrow/copy the best ideas that their competition comes up with (usually), while maintaining the advantages their leadership gives them. In the case of anonymous coins that is DARK.
2. Living in a surveillance state, with headlines exposing one case after another of how government, competitors, etc. are monitoring us, everyone is desiring more privacy these days. That's particularly the case with finances. So it's not just a few drug dealers interested in Darkcoin, it's the vast majority of us.

If I'm right, Darkcoin's market cap could pass LTC in the near term. Suggesting it can match or beat BTC would require a stretch of faith and lots of things happening just right. But in a technical feature match-up, Dark would win at this point. So if it can gain traction with people, there is no limit.

Just be ready to sell if Mr. Duffield gets hit by a truck....

In one word, innovation. Darkcoin is bringing a lot on table (DGW, DarkSend, Masternodes, etc.), when some other crytocurrencies are all about design and total coins supply.

See, the problem is, that people talked about it, but no one got it properly working.
Now, as Darkcoin gets notice, you'll see a lot of "experts" coming in and claiming how easy and insignificant that is, how other solutions are better etc.
Working and constantly improved solution is a win in my book.

There were interesting discussions between Evan and AnonyMint couple months ago, very enlightening, with critic's view on various anonymity solutions.
A lot was taken on board, so don't take it lightly and believe some saying how easy/insignificant solution is until they get it working.

I think hatred, pretentiousness and even contempt from others (not necessarily from a specific coin community) was the reason behind how a lot of the guys here bonded together and identified themselves with the developers and each other. Some don't understand this and how determined the people in this thread are. Personally I'd go with any developer who puts his name out there and takes responsibility over the cloners even if I lose BTC not indulging in PnDs.

Trolls you cannot take that away from this lot here.

Wait, are you saying that a closed source, instamined, Bitcoin clone with a questionable CoinJoin implementation is going to be the conclusion to the genius of Satoshi?

Closed source? What are you talking about?  Huh

BTC started the experminet, and DRK is as close to a finalized solution that the crypto community has thus far spawned. With a dev that keeps moving along with the moving target, DRK has, by far, the best chance to become the final product that the BTC experiment was meant to catalyze.

Wait, are you saying that a closed source, instamined, Bitcoin clone with a questionable CoinJoin implementation is going to be the conclusion to the genius of Satoshi?

Even the inventor of CoinJoin said that Darkcoin is old news compared to Bytecoin/Monero.

But it's this alternative coin, of all the others, that will be the final conclusion to Satoshi's CryptoCoin idea?

Have you even looked into ideas like Ethereum? Ideas that actually have a chance to challenge Bitcoin?

Some of the posts in this thread are devoid of any reality.

Yeah guys, this is it. The final conclusion is here.

OT but wow, Doge falling like a rock now...
I dumped the last of my Doge after the nascar race.  When we didn't see any sort of pop from that, I figured it would be a gradual decline from there.

Hopefully they prove me wrong as it's a great community of people.

I'm down to DRK and BTC as my crypto holdings.

I know, I would love it if we could somehow merge with the Doge community!  They're so creative and fun!

Yeah, the DOGE community is great.
They've done a lot for thy crypto community, getting a lot of media attention and introduced wider audience into it.
Not to mention, unlike some other communities they are very positive and don't play low/troll etc.

+1000.
I agree. The community is hyper active and very giving. Say what you will about the coin specs, but the community is full of good ,well intentioned people. They have generated much publicity, such money, from their donations. They have so far done more for others than a vast majority of crypto communities have. If anything, they deserve respect and esteem. People come to cryptos in general and lament the fall of the dollar or the general economic doom coming. The doge community (albeit ,I have given just a passing glance), has helped others, not in the future, and not when doge pops to such moon, but in the NOW. Very important difference.
