As long as BTC price goes up, DRK price will go down.

I think we could see around 0.01145 as a new bottom.

So Gavin Andersen agrees that we are going to see more anonymity projects, and that Bitcoin will likely have to catch-up.

~24mins.

Watch as Bitcoin copies Evan's lead.

I WOULD SAY THAT THIS IS A FIRM BUY SIGNAL FOR DARKCOIN.

coin ticker is a good app to check your coins on the move
i hustled them for a while and they have DRK charts now as well
…..>

this is surprise good news, I thought they pulled everything related to crypto currencies from the store, even those apps that were only indirectly related. I suppose even apple isn't powerful enough to resist the inevitable end of fiat currency.

They never pulled everything crypto related.  Only crypto wallets, i.e. apps that allow spending from the app itself.  (Which makes sense in a way; I don't think I would want my private keys on my phone.)  There are plenty of informational-only crypto apps on iTunes.

Wallets in the phone are necessary for adoption, we need them to be able to spend/send away from computer. I'm also wary about having a wallet in my phone, but I reduce my anxiety by using a separate one with a limited amount in it (BTC, we don't have a DRK one yet).

Monero just cancelled their logo bounty after getting tons of free design ideas, because (probably partly thanks to the logo competition itself) the coins value went up.

So at 300 MRO we have no incentive to pick a design from all your hard work here instead of just going to professionals.

What shady fucks. Can you even imagine Evan pulling shit like that?

DRK Forever.

LOL, what a shitbag. If I had any monero I'd dump it immediately, how could you ever trust these clowns?

Monero? Apart from being pumped by the poloniex trollbox by reference to darkcoin, it looks ok.

Some teething problems, but nothing major at the moment. Still some work to do, but one of their key USPs is ring signatures. So far, Evan has indicated they will be coming to Darkcoin.

* Master Nodes These nodes handle the mixing through random selection -
I'm implementing I2P into the masternodes. We're going to have our own private network just for DarkSend.

* Ring signatures are going to be implemented in V2.

I will begin development immediately after I opensource V1.

So the main issue for any anonymity coin, IMO, is one of market positioning - can it catch Darkcoin's lead? If you read around, you'll find the anonymity competitors are all using darkcoin as a point of reference. MRO on Poloniex sort of supports this - they are using Darkcoin to pump MRO - that is both good and bad for MRO.

There's a lot false marketing going on Twitter to herd people to buy into MRO: "Second generation anonymous", "Darksend" etc.

What people need to realise, that there is a difference between a fork of 2 year old Bytecoin (MRO) and a freshly developed and constantly improved coin with at least 2y development plan.

Would I trust a clone without a known developer and track record of what is going on, how to develop the tech etc.? Trading fine, long term no (not yet at least).

So my money are on DRK.

Now we have some sight of what the newest competition is doing.

DarkWallet is still in Alpha, and today we learn that people using browser wallet plugins might lose their bitcoins.

http://www.coindesk.com/secure-wallet-extension-kryptokit-disappears-chrome-browsers/

It is also a centralised mixing system, currently with some problems around control of inputs and outputs and only useful for those that know about the system - its optional by default.

Not hating it, just not feeling it.

Zerocash

The paper on zerocash was launched yesterday, the presentations are today and the official launch of zerocash currency is still not yet announced, but won't be in May, possibly not in June either.  Therefore, those waiting to clone zerocash, it will be open source, have to wait a little longer.

The lead academic of zerocash protocol has said:

Quote
....it will be a test drive more than anything. “It’s totally possible this thing will blow up. It’s totally possible people will find a vulnerability,”

Quote
ZeroCash is certainly more experimental than what Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto used, and it will take some vetting from cryptographers before the design can be fully trusted, says Green.

The material reference here is that someone could generate billions of zerocash coins and it would be difficult to detect.

http://www.sciencefriday.com/blogs/05/14/2014/this-cryptocurrency-could-be-an-answer-to-bitcoin-s-privacy-problems.html?series=33

They still have the fundamental problem of being funded by governments from military budgets. Yeah, good luck with that sales pitch to the community.

Thanks, what about Monero?

Anyone knows why my wallet shows about 100 DRK more than the blockchain for my address? Wallet updated to the latest version (yesterday's version), fully synched. I've had this problem for the past weeks. Also, which of the 2 show the correct amount?
Your wallet probably has more than one address. Try this: In wallet, Settings > Options > Display > tick display coin control features, then Send > Inputs - should show you addresses and balances in your wallet.
Tried, just 1 address. It's a bit weird. Maybe I unveiled a bug?

What happens if you move the whole sum to another wallet?

This is good news. Coinotron is one of the larger LTC pools. I haven't used it since last year, but when I used to login, the first thing I'd do is look at the other coins and their profitability ratio  Wink

This sort of passive indirect marketing is good news. Especially those that know it costs 40% - 50% less to run DRK vs LTC, plus DRK is just more profitable.

DASH is the future of crypto payments!
None of the top 200 richest is selling
http://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-darkcoin-addresses-2.html

Only weaker hands

Remember that these are only addresses with whole amount of coins Wink if smb has spread them on different addresses doesn`t mean that isn`t in top 100 or top 200 right? Smiley
