Double top or cup/handle on 1 month cryptsy chart?

Or neither?  I barely have any idea what the fuck I'm talking about :p.

I found this and yeah it sounds to me as we're looking at the cup and handle Cheesy

Like most technical patterns, the cup with handle pattern is really little more than a variation of another technical pattern.  In this case that pattern is the double top.  The pattern begins after a well-liked stock rallies to a new high following a positive fundamental development.  As the stock surges investors feel increasingly comfortable paying higher prices but there comes a point when the "story" of the stock fails to convert new believers.  Slowly, the stock begins to drift lower as those seeking to lock-in profits outnumber those intrigued by the story.  Although most of the fundamental news is still positive, many investors begin to question if the stock really is worth the prevailing market price and over time a substantial decline begins.

This process creates an important technical peak (top#1).  As the stock nears a twenty percent decline from the recent highs (this decline could reach fifty percent in bear markets) buyers begin to reassert themselves and the stock stabilizes and a reaction low occurs.  From this point forward, the bias begins to tilt gradually higher.  During this phase the stock may be the subject of positive Wall Street analyst comments, a new product announcement or legal victory.  As the rally gains steam sentiment improves dramatically and new buyers begin to talk about certain new highs but those that purchased the stock at or near top#1 get ready to sell.  These investors may have been waiting as long at 12 weeks for an opportunity to sell their positions without incurring a loss and they are not dissuaded by all of the new found bullish talk.  Just short of the old highs at top#1 aggressive selling begins on no specific news but in reality some investors that bought near top#1 have already begun to sell.  The stock begins to work significantly lower on increased volume creating a second, well defined top (top#2).

The military does fund lots of security projects, but why a currency project?

Still haven't been able to figure that one out on a legitimate needs basis. The closets I get is crypto for secret messaging along the lines of the byzantine generals problem.

The alternative, the dark motive, is to understand the mechanics so you can figure out how to break in.

You're kidding right?
After controlling what we think, money is the only game in town when it comes to the parasite game. Whats more important than controlling the money supply? It dosen't matter where the funds come,  just that the job gets done. It's all from us ultimately, to be used against us.

So this is pretty serious.

The only way they can control the money supply is to make sure there is a back door into the system to generate unlimited coins. So any implementation of zerocash is a waste of time.

Alternatively, there is a honey pot and any implementation of zerocash is a prison sentence waiting to happen.

Funding crypto currency could have been just for the sake of it, for messaging research or perhaps a private system to make secret international payments to buy arms, fund wars, etc.

The zerocash team really need to assure people this will work.
I'm guessing the master key will be the same as the ICBM launch PIN: 00000000

I have to say, I came on here and thought this coin would have a pull back, it did, but from a much higher level... The more I read about this coin the more compelling it does sound, I can see it replacing LTC... The way im starting to look at this is, there is a need for alts, you cannot just have BTC... LTC had first mover advantage and did the job, but DRK is pulling together all the best developments and all the most sought after features into one coin.. Maybe this will be the coin to rule them al... Congrats to holders, this coin is to some degree now re writing the rulebook.. Im eating humble pie!

Quick question: can I run N masternodes (N>1) using the same local wallet depositing Nx1000DRK to it or do I have to use fresh local wallet for every new masternode?

One unique wallet with 1000 DRK per MN.
ok, thanks!

Double top or cup/handle on 1 month cryptsy chart?

Or neither?  I barely have any idea what the fuck I'm talking about :p.

Standard patterns and formulas do not apply here. DRK is unique because of its masternodes system. It results in people being desperate to hold on to their coins. Starting today I predict Darkcoin will become bigger than bitcoin this year. Innovation always beats adoption in the end.

OK - but pretend they did.  What would you call that chart pattern?
Voodoo! Call it Rapunzel, it wont mind.  Grin

(Cup and handle is the answer you are looking for though.)

If anyone wants in, you've got about 72-96hrs before the price nearly doubles again.  Wink

It shall henceforth be referred to as Rapunzel.

Rapunzel...  soo pretty.

Sounds like you need some short-term context

Old schedule...

- RC2 (magic numbers changed to darkcoin, DGW3) : May 14th
- RC2 (masternode payments) : May 25th
- RC3 (10 DRK limit and denominated change) : June 14th
- After this, I'll find someone to vet the code and open source.
- RC4 (Bugs, security issues)
- Testing, then opensource

The masternode issues and the 3rd fork for the 25th actually messed up the schedule. I've been rewriting much of the code masternode technology (released yesterday, if you haven't updated please do!)

There's still some oddities with the election voting system that I'm going to tackle this next week. This I'll start working again on RC3 .

and with this context, I'd say things are looking sexy...want a spoon for some sugar?

Does the price runup have anything to do with the May 25 deadline so people can get their 1000 DRK for a Masternode?

What happens after?  Selloff?

Today a masternode costs you around $7k and might bring every month $100-$200, but after 3 or 4 months it will probably costs you $50k and bring every month almost $2k, that's why people are trying to buy as soon as possible and setup their masternodes, why would anyone want to sell after that?

Bump!

+101

you mean I could almost retire setting up a masternode?  Grin

Can someone summarize how the remote/local masternode setup is affected by the last changes? Where do private keys need to be generated and where do they need to be included in the config file?

Also, can the local wallet be put in cold storage after starting the masternode?

Thanks!

Here you go:

LOCAL/REMOTE MASTERNODE SETUP WITH COLD WALLET UNDER THE LAST UPDATE

I would like to report that I was able to update and run my masternodes, using the local/remote wallet setup. The process was the same, but you need to remember that the local wallet is also going to need its own masternodeprivkey=[output from genkey]. So once you have the server side ready. On your local wallet darkcoin.conf change masternode=1, to 0. Get the masternode privkey, add it to the darkcoin.conf and change back to masternode=1. After that, follow the same process we used before to start the masternode remotely. From humanitee:

Start darkcoind on the remote machine.
On your local machine, send 1000 DRK to a newly generated wallet. Send it to the 0th address. If you use darkcoin-qt version to make your wallets, send it to the first (and only if it was newly generated) address.
On your local machine specify the server IP at launch with:
./darkcoind -masternodeaddr=YOUR_SERVER_IP:9999
Unlock your local machine's newly generated 1000 DRK wallet with your passphrase, ## is the time in seconds before the wallet will be once again locked:

./darkcoind walletpassphrase 'your wallet passphrase here' ##

On your local machine,

./darkcoind masternode start

For the above to work your local wallet must already have its own privkey on the darkcoin.conf (this key is different from the server one). I hope this helps.

Thanks! Are you sure you are not supposed to use the same privkey locally and remotely as described by TanteStefana on darkcointalk?   Also, are you sure closing the local wallet does not stop the the remote one rendering the masternode useless?

Thanks again for your help!

I am sure stopping the local wallet does not stop the masternode. Thats the whole idea, keeping the wallet cold.

On the other hand, I did not try using the same key. Maybe it works either way. I do know it works with two separate keys.
