Hi everyone, I'm sorry I disappeared.  I don't know if someone hacked my account or if I stupidly changed the login and totally forgot.  60/40 percent chance favoring stupidity.  I had no personal information in my profile, so hopefully all is ok.  I'll just have to make sure nobody represents me badly by keeping an eye on it.

I get frustrated, and anxiety builds up, so I had to step away from the forum a while and now I feel better Smiley

Anyway, one good thing is this will keep me from spamming posts, ROFL  Grin  I'm a newbie again!
That's why the page number of this thread was not increasing so much these time.  Tongue Tongue

I am not comparing here but implementing ring signatures will take considerable change to the codebase and it hasnt been implemented on a protocol other than cryptonote yet, so its questionable
Ring sigs are not a particularly new concept. I suggested them myself a few hundred pages back without knowing what they were or that they already existed. Evan has proved himself competent and has completely delivered so far on all he's set out to achieve. Evan wants ring sigs, ring sigs will be implemented.

You should wait 20 hours more  Cool

I'd say he threw his BTC in just at the right time.

We now have confirmation of a return to upward momentum at  almost all chartscales across the board.

poolsz values are getting much larger than they used to. Watching my log tail, there were rarely blocks with double-digit tx quantities a month ago. Now it's easily 30+ each block... DRK is getting a lot more use.

And, according to some theories, transaction volume and coin price go hand in hand.

I try not to draw too many correlations. So many people do that with no actual causative link... FA Crystal Balls...

The only real things to consider are human nature and science. In this case, the sub-categories of Stupidity and Math. Since Stupidity is a violent dissociative property, it's damn near impossible to draw any conclusions since Science is based on logic, and stupidity makes decisions in defiance and/or absence of logic. Those choices are what affects the price. Science is just a proxy that may or may not apply to the choice because the choice is being made by a stupid person in an overwhelming quantity of all decisions made. How? Becasue most peopela re stupid, that's why they still hound crypto for not having "backing" or a "central authority." Stupid is the majority.

More TXes = more use. Could be people testing DarkSend... Could be shuffling. Could be mining rewards pumping out... No matter what we speculate the the causation to be, the only fact is that it getting used a lot more, and that's good.

Can anybody answer me? i am asking again as nobody answered. Why does the title say first anonymous coin?? bytecoin was released in 2012 so that means dark is not the first

Yes, I can answer.  Because nobody knew of Bytcoin's existence until March, when they came out of the woodwork.  For 2 years, they were a small group of people mining bytcoin, now they let us know they exist?  I dont' know, maybe they didn't want anything to do with Bitcointalk, I can understand that, but the #1 thing a coin needs is users.  Without users and a good distribution of coins, you have nothing.

Should Darkcoin change the title?

I don't think so.  We were the first known coin to offer such a thing.  And certainly the first usable coin, as Bytcoin still has no GUI, only people comfortable using Linux and the command line can use their wallet.

It's going to be very difficult for them to catch up.  They made some really bad decisions it seems.

Since we now know Bytecoin was technically the first, I don't see why we should claim that Darkcoin as the first anonymous coin when it isn't really true. Leave the misleading claims to coins with no real innovation who have nothing to go on but marketing. "#1 Anonymous Coin" would be more appropriate, IMO.

Besure to include some links with this, people will get confused with other not so liked Bytecoin.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bcn-bytecoin-secure-private-untraceable-since-2012-512747

Also, check out Monero.

Yup, i have invested a lot in Monero, it will be 'the' coin Smiley
On what basis would Monero be "the" coin? It's a Bytecoin clone. Its development is months behind DRK. By the time Monero becomes accessible to the average person, DRK will already have I2P, ring signatures, IP obfuscation as well as momentum. Also, there's the fact that Bytecoin/Monero/Cryptonote clones aren't perfect, read Anonymint's criticisms.

If crypotonote isnt perfect than ask anonymint about dark, dark isnt in the league

We can see what people think once all the planned changes are implemented. Meanwhile, the market has clearly decided that Dark is better.

this whole analysis who wins the race is so damn unimportant - the only thing for sure is that there is a huge demand for an anonymous currency - afaik the teams of drk, monero, byte etc are almost cooperating designing such a currency. no need for battle. from my point of view the cryptonote currencies are on step ahead regarding backend development, darkcoin is ahead in the front end as well as user adoption. I do not care I hodl all of them.

see a copy of the conversation and make your own conclusions

[23:36] drk can gtfo
[23:36] best scam I've ever seen
[23:36] instamine to fuck + masternodes paying fees back to them.
[23:37] they get constant money for doing nothing
[23:37] hmmmm
[23:37] i dont figured out how darksend work yet
[23:37] is dedicated nodes needed to distribute the transactions ?
[23:37] masternodes are coin mixers
[23:38] hmmm, that make sense
[23:38] transactions go through random masternodes, which mix coins
[23:38] if you're masternode is used. you get mining fees.
[23:38] so, we can make an masternode and live throo the fees of anonnymus ?
[23:38] for the service.
[23:38] yes
[23:38] its like mining
[23:38] that makes sense
[23:38] which is what DRK have done. 65% in top 100 wallets... so yeah... they have 65% of masternodes.
[23:38] so they'll more than likely get most of the fees back to them.
[23:38] clever. money money money
[23:39] but you can run one maternode yourself, no ?
[23:39] yes, but it's a lottery
[23:39] you only get fees if your masternode is USED
[23:39] with them controlling 65%, it's unlikely your 1k coin masternode will get used.
[23:39] yes, just like mining
[23:40] if the coin became popular they will not be 65% at control for sure
[23:40] its popular now
[23:40] if the coin is opensource i dont see theproblem at all
[23:40] drksend isn't opensource
[23:40] just dont like the x11 thing...
[23:41] i know, but they sould release the code i think
[23:41] Top 100 Richest Addresses 2,569,351 DRK ($15,368,243 USD) 59.87% Total
[23:41] i ear other day that they are just completing the code
[23:41] <666whale> MotoMen - whats the problem with x11 in your oppinion?
[23:41] dont want to release an incomplete version
[23:41] Market Cap - $25,669,200 USD
[23:41] They have 15m$ of the coins
[23:41] 666whale in the future
[23:42] i smell a lota fuckin haterade in this room
[23:42] Winwhale just expressing opinion
[23:43] i think darkcoin is a great coin, just dont like the x11 thing
[23:43] Tongue
[23:43] Winwhale: criticism and debate isn't hate
[23:43] Wink
[23:43] groupthink ?
[23:43] 666whale: after 1 week I'll get my first ASIC X11
[23:43] What do you mean it's impossible??!!!?
[23:44] my friend from China has many friends there ... they mining X11 with ASIC X11 from
[23:44] What are you talking my friend?!?
[23:45] if so these people have raised the price to sell at a higher price???
[23:45] Exactly,  best scam I've ever seen
[23:45]   see the DRK diff - from 1000 to 2500 for 10 min
[23:45] interesting ....
[23:45] I need to get some sleep Smiley....  tomorrow at the same time
[23:45] +1 See you tomorrow
[23:46] < freshwhale > MotoMen: Greetings to everyone at home Smiley  See you tomorrow
this true?
I begin to think that really had some interest to raise the price
and now sell their coins

Releasing a coin on the darknet and mining it for 2 years where a few people know about it hardly counts...

It most definatly counts. It is the true definition of anonymous and at this point the most anonymous anyone can get.

So perhaps we should asterisk our title and say we were the first anonymous coin that wasn't mined extensively by small groups of people in the know for two years time. That could work, I guess.

You could argue that there were issues with Dark's launch, but at the same time, it was at least public to a pretty wide userbase, let alone continues to be referenced in the how the coin started thread on the official forums.

Even bitcoin wasnt much known than a small group in early days but it doesnt mean litecoin will say its the first crypto currency

Does this comment really make sense to you?   Litecoin is an offshoot of Bitcoin, as is Darkcoin.  The Darkcoin developers, or Evan mostly, created DarkSend already before Bytecoin came out of the woodwork.  Only a close knit group of people knew they existed.  And you want us to bow down to their claim?  They've had no interaction with the crypto coin world at large until March of this year; well after DarkSend was implemented.  Sounds like sour grapes.  They realized they made a mistake, waited too long, and shouldn't have hid so long,  They are behind the curve, and Darkcoin doesn't intend to let them catch up  Grin

I just received 1.503 DRK ... 1503 --- the same amount the biggest wallet created in his balance three times in a row, the number of my btctalk username.

Maybe Evan ? or another Dev ? Cheesy

Should stop referring to finite units of this coin as Satoshis... They're Duffs now.

Don't take this as anything other than genuine curiosity, but are you actually of the opinion that that DRK is going to rival Bitcoin ?

Going for Litecoin first, then $1bn valuation.

Bitcoin is starting to show signs of wanting to encourage block chain analysis, for all sorts of reasons - regulatory ease of acceptance, asset ownership, side chains possibly.

DRK can be e-cash, the virtual currency of the internet.
