Those big whales.. 50+ master nodes running on amazon ec.. that's gotta be some serious income.  Grin

I must say, although I've only been in DRK for a few weeks, I think the masternode thing is a stroke of genius.

It shows the dev's got a bit of financial nouse as well as technical. I've been trying to work out how worthwhile it is putting up a masternode and I keep going round in circles because:

[1] - it lots of masternodes go up, you'll get less of the "pie"

[2] - but the price of DRK will go up because less money supply and more demand, so what you DO get is worth more

[3] - but if the price goes down, more masternode holders will retire and want to sell their holdings

[4] - so the remaining masternodes get more of the pie, creating more demand and stabilising the market

Kind of like multi-pool effect except it's based on a constructive principle that supports the coin technically as opposed to a parasitical one that does nothing for the coin.

On top of that incentive to have a node... solving Bitcoin's weakness in that area.

I'm running 0.10.8.2 and trying to make my first Darksend transaction. I've tried three times now to send small amounts (0.00xx), but none have worked. The first shows as Type="Payment to yourself", Address="(n/a)" and amount="0.00". The next two are the same except the amount is -0.001.

What am I doing wrong? Does the amount need to be larger? I know  there is a limit of 10, but is there a minimum?

Not sure what the problem is, but there is no minimum amount.

Phew, glad i sold at 0.0138 and made up for my losses yesterday. Over 400 BTC just been dumped, back down to under 0.0120 and dropping.

It's not dropping. The 4 hour chart correction which has taken place over the last 2 and a half days is coming to a close. Momentum is starting to develop to the upside again.

All that happened was some whale hawks who appear to be pouring over the same charts panicked when it started to turn around and put in some massive early buys (about an hour ago) that drove the price straight back to 14. Since they were a bit ahead of the curve with their buys, the market's continuing to consolidate at the pace it was and has added 0.0015 BTC to the 0.01 we were trading at just prior to those panic buys.

Interesting except that this next x5 cycle we are possibly currently in now will likely occur over the next week right into the start of masternode payments, which, if successful, could easily cause a 10x-20x rise in prices before the next 40% drop. I don't think I want to be the schmuck who settled for a lousy 5x gain at the start of something that could be paradigm shifting.
JL

These are unreal expectations IMO. If I2P and ring signatures were already in, then maybe. Master nodes alone cannot get us there.

If we do more than 2x the ATH market cap I will be very surprised.

Yup, people should stop guessing and try to do something useful. Truth is, nobody can know what will happen with the price of DRK. I understand. We are all emotionally invested. We all want the success of the coin. But pages and pages of guesses mean nothing. Enjoy the ride and stop mental buying a yatch with the profits!!

then its like dices  Huh there are ways of pricepredictions concerning innovative factors for shure.  Smiley

Not like dices, but almost. DRK is quite small yet and any big player can move the market. There is no way to predict that. You can believe in the coin or not, but predicting prices several months ahead with accuracy is just not possible. Wishful thinking at best. If those who claim to know really knew, do you think they would be sharing their knowledge with us instead of getting rich themselves?

Pre-sale - March 18

Anyways, again, Is there a console command in wallet to see MN count?

If you open the debug window (Help > Debug Window) and click the console tab, you can type

Code:
masternode list

and that will give you a list of masternodes, although you'd have to count them on your own.

Is that what you are asking?

yeah that's what I'm asking hehe
