Well, it looks like we're going to hit the minimum coins to be paid, 5 coins per block, very soon. I believe if this continues, we'll only ultimately mine 11 million coins, no? The 22 million or so coins originally predicted assumed a much less drastic increase in hash rate.

finally figured it out 
For some reason the MN list is showing the public IP broadcasted by my home router, it's not showing the elastic IP of the EC2 instance. Any idea why this is happening?

When starting your local server, did you start it with the masternode=ip:9999
then unlock the wallet, then start masternode - all on the local wallet?
Does your remote configure have your ip address in the right spot?
Finally, do both wallet config files have masternode=1 in them and the proper needed ip address "addnode=25.25.XXX.XXX"?
Those are the main things I can think of???
yep, i followed all these instructions, my home router IP is shown in the list still instead of the IP of the EC2 instance.
Ok, well it seems like your local wallet is not hooking up with the EC2
Have you possibly started your local darkcoind first with a normal start up, like ./darkcoind before doing ./darkcoind masternodeaddr=ip:9999 ?
If so, you must stop your darkcoind, and start it up from the beginning with ./darkcoind masternodeaddr=(ip_of_remote_server):9999
THEN, you need to unlock your local (hopefully passphrased wallet)
Then do the ./darkcoind masternode start passphrase
something got messed up in the steps, we just have to figure out where

Your local config needs to have the lines:
addnode=23.23.186.131
masternodeaddr=(REMOTE IP:PORT)
server=1
daemon=1
masternode=1
rpcuser=s9f0asjv0dsa9f
rpcpassword=09dsafus09dafusdafas
Your remote config only needs:
addnode=23.23.186.131
Wh1teKn1ght your missing "masternodeaddr=" in your local config file.
Edit: Take what I say with a grain of salt. This is working for me though.
Double EDIT: you only need in your local config file
addnode=23.23.186.131
masternode=1
masternodeaddr=IPADDRESS:PORT

Hmm ok... another question: How much power is drawn for scrypt operation of the same 5 cards? I want to establish the power diff between amd (-50% compared to scrypt) and nvidia (-??% compared to scrypt).
Scrypt on these 5 cards gets 1475 kh/s @ 430W at the wall.

240w full system draw for 5 cards pulling 7.65 MH? That's amazing.... I'm aware of the high efficiency of the 750ti in scrypt, but the hashrate and power draws are very impressive.
Have you tried any overclocking?
I had them overclocked for scrypt mining, and it made an appreciable difference. I did try to OC briefly when using ccminer but it actually dropped the hashrate, and I haven't had time to play with it more. So these 750ti figures are at stock speeds. Actually come to think of it, the 7970 figures are overclocked & undervolted, so it's not a totally fair comparison, in that the 750ti could probably do better than the figures i have here.Have you tried any overclocking?

That won't tell us too much, since ccminer puts some load on the cpu. A better way to get precise figures for per-gpu power draw is to add/remove one card at a time and measure the difference in power draw.

So with ccminer finally supporting X11, I've moved my Nvidia 750ti rig over to mining darkcoin (which felt AWESOME). Some rough numbers:
5x 750ti cards at load:
- 7650 kh/s (1530 kh/s per card)
- 240W total system draw at the wall
So if we assume ~40W draw from rest of the system (motherboard, cpu, hdd, psu inefficiencies), that leads to some pretty nice stats
38 kh/s/W for Nvidia 750ti (1530kh / 40W)
22 kh/s/W for AMD 7970 (2200kh / 100W)
From memory, this is even better performance (relative to AMD) than scrypt gets. Which means Nvidia is the clear winner for X11 mining, at least for the moment.

I had a hunch this would happen. Only, we don't know if it is a little too late for nVidia to the crypto party, time will tell. I saw Block Value go to 7 DRK a little while ago, unreal.
