I'm wondering, if the  darksend code is opensource, so another coin can implements it and DarkCoin will loose some value because it will not be the only one providing the feature ?
Or I'm wrong ?

correct
but doesn't mean drk will lose value necessarily

Of course not, Dark is too far ahead now for a simple clone to succeed. By the time the code is open sourced Masternodes will be worth like 5000$ each. A simple clone will have trouble following the same smooth development path that Darkcoin has had.

DASH is the future of crypto payments!
Just a question, DRK come from 0.60$ to 1.60$ with the RC of the DarkSend.
With a final DarkSend and a good adoption of the Dark, what is the price you predict ?

Place your bet now, I'll post the result in a week.

We will see if we made a good prediction in 3 months ! Smiley

Please explain what ya'all are talking about to us non-coders??? LOL

This is basically a Darkcoin client "code" that helps it identify other Darkcoin clients. Before it was using Litecoin's which was giving people all those wallet syncing errors because their clients were communicating with Litecoin and others. Evan just flipped the order on all the bytes.

It's a bit like using http://0xc0.0x40.0x51.0x6a (Hexadecimal IP) to resolve http://darkproxy.net   Wink

An autoupdate (or update check) feature would be nice for the wallet.

Did anyone notice that Vault of Satoshi added DRK fiat and alt-to-drk exchanges?

https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/orderbook

Wow, just Wow!  But I can't use them from the US Sad

Now we need to get Coinbase to do that!

Unless they've changed something in the last couple months, you can use them.  It's just a pain in the ass.  You have to send a certified check from your bank or something.

We need a little store front that sells DRK via paypal or credit card (for a small markup).  Even if it were an ebay store.

Without spreading false information, I thought I read they no longer could exchange for US citizens, but I may very well have gotten info screwed up in my head  Tongue  Grin

They pulled out....now they are coming back...this time with state-by-state licences. So far you can only access them if you live in South Carolina

My ubuntu wallet version is: v0.9.1.2-7-g4301c16-beta
Is it safe to keep my coins in this wallet all the time or do I need to update it when the devs make any changes?

edit: my wallet says the same  - out of sync at 0 hours Smiley

 its a bug I think
it connects after a few hours then it gets out of sync
I guess its no big deal

DarkCoin wallet is out of sync its stuck at 0 hours behind
how do I get it in sync

If you mouse hover over the progress bar you'll see it's actually up to date with the last block, it just doesn't realise it...  Huh

I move the mouse over the bar and nothing happens .I click debug I see this number 64484

May be different in my linux client. 64484 was the latest block at the time you did that, so it's synced up, don't worry.

here look at the picture its states its out of sync

I'm not doubting you mate, my wallet does the same thing, it's up to date, check the latest block here: http://explorer.darkcoin.io/chain/DarkCoin

edit: don't forget to set a password!
