Wow, and it's not you?  LOL.  I suspect that person won't be running masternodes, it's be too time consuming.  They just want to sell when it's high, I suspect Smiley

Just goes to show, you gotta have money to make money ;P

Actually, I know people who were successful in the old fashion way and those that were born into money, and they would never ever risk anything ever.  They'd rather lose money on the stock market than invest in a small start-up with talent.  They're stagnant.  So whomever is buying up dark, I doubt they got their money from being a lawyer, LOL.

I've been thinking about Litecoin since I noticed a couple of Litecoin moderators and long-term supporters sniffing around.

What are the odds that Litecoin seriously considers taking on the DarkSend open source code and adding it to LTC?

It would make a lot of sense in terms of adding competitive pressure to Bitocoin.

The hard fork requirement is the only sticking point. But given the discussions about Scrypt ASICs and merge mining with Dogecoin, they might take the view that hard forking to avoid ASICs is not worth the risk; but hard forking to add anonymity to beat Bitcoin, and using that opportunity to push out ASICs for another 6-12 months, that might be worth the risks of a hard fork.

The only negative would be a further shift away from bitcoin code. I know that they want to keep litecoin as close to bitcoin as possible.

I don't care about Litecoin or the best strategy for its future. Darkcoin is the only coin I care about (and Bitcoin... to buy more DRK).

My darkproxy.net website now has an easy cloud server mining guide to help folks new to crypto get started with mining some Darkcoins.

See: http://www.darkproxy.net/darkcoin-cpu-cloud-mining-guide.php or https://ssl.darkproxy.net/darkcoin-cpu-cloud-mining-guide.php

I've also started working on a pseudonymous Darkcoin mining protocol which will allow P2pool mining via Tor .onion's or a secure VPN tunnel.

~ Full promotion of darkproxy.net commences from this weekend. By Nov. 2014 the site aims to be serving well over 2TB+ of traffic avg. per. week / month.

 Shocked

That is AWESOME.  I'm glad we have someone with darknet expertise working on this!   Grin Grin

Expect lots of residual hits to the Darkcoin project website.   Cool

Just in time for the new website launch Cheesy

Indeed. Thanks.

I don't claim full credit for the guide though, as I've only expanded upon a blog post by kvvs, adding some more detailed screen shots and updating some settings / info. etc. ...

See: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/cloud-mine-darkcoins.349/

Again, credit to kvvs - so please donate some Darkcoins and choose either sign-up link - with a coin flip. Smiley

...

When the Darkcoin master nodes stuff is a bit more finalized I'll look to write a detailed set-up guide.

Howto lock down security settings, the best server locations and choice of VPS provider are all going to be important factors.

A list of hosting providers who are already known to be Tor friendly will be very useful.

Hoping to earn enough Darkcoins through this website to host my own master node or two.

Some initial profits will go towards funding some extra dedicated connectivity nodes for Tor and I2p support - 6 nodes in total - 2x Tor (only) , 2x I2p (only), 2x Tor and I2p for chaining both networks.

Would be great if somebody can write an easier guide how to make a masternode, a video would be even better

No chance. LTC devs wouldn't hard fork except for an emergency. Their explicitly stated philosophy is to offer small improvements over BTC.

Internet Money

You said "ecash" and "Internet Money" but how is this related or may substitute the notion of "trustlessness" ?

providing an explanation of trustless is something for the user guide - you can put it on a website somewhere.

The thing that needs to stick in the memory and come to mind when hovering over the buy button on a merchants store are words like eCash or internet money.

Bitcoin has already done a great job on the decentralised explanation and how it relates to trust. We don't need to reinvent that wheel. People just want to know that the product works like cash, but on the internet.

Do you trust the money in your pocket? You don't even think about it. You hold it and pass it on.

Kills me to think i bought 20 btccs worth at 38 when i could have gotten some at 28! lol oh well.

I got some at 0.44 on c-cex many months back so cant complain :p

The price will rise again soon, whales are making sure they get as many as they can at the cheapest price.

It kills me to see others are able to capitalize on this great opportunity with 20+ BTCs while I'm stuck with my measly DRKs. Grin Oh well. At least I've managed to get enough to try my hand at a masternode this weekend.

Did several jagermeister bombs last night. Came home and decided to buy a couple of BTCs worth of DRK.

Woke up today to find out I could have got them cheaper. Bloody multipools drifting down the price.

Lesson learned - don't buy anything while pissed. But I'm sure it will happen again.

No multipools, it's a whale exiting in waves of 20-30-40 btc dumps... up until 10-12 hours ago there was another whale buying from him - but the whale buyer(s) either seems to have run out of buying power or he/they have figured out the guy exiting and selling low and thus go lower too to maximize the DRKs they buy.

Damn! I need a "crypto trading 101" class or something. Can anyone reference any good reading on the subject?

summercoin has an x11 multipool - and I think DRK was one of their targets

Nothing changes in term of fundamentals. DRK has very low inflation to be bothered by multipool dumping. Even if a multipool mined 1/4th of all DRKs it's like 6 BTC (@ 0.003). Whales here are moving with like 20-40 BTC batches. The buying whale saw the trend reversal on 260 as it got 270 etc and then placed 20 BTC buy on 285. I bet he was hoping to buy @ 250.

I like this explanation.

You, sir, are the official DRK Wolf of Wall Street.
