Yes, nice price rise overnight, Poloniex up 17% over 24hrs, which is a pretty big movement for DRK.

All previous issues have been addressed and resolved! Back 100% operational!

We are extremely pleased to inform you all that the negative balance issue has now been fixed.

Since the extent of missing transactions was considerable for that period, and that we lost more debit transactions rather than credit ones (meaning balances in credit_dummy were higher than the actual amount), we proceeded with a credit based on your average payout / block for the affected period. We chose to proceed this way to resolve this issue faster for everybody.  That ensured a minimal loss, and everybody got their fair share of the coins for that period that were previously un-credited to assess the credit/debit inconsistensies.

You can come back mining at http://Dark.SuchPool.pw

We will soon announce a full week of 0% fees to compensate all our miners.

Again, we deeply apoligize for the inconvenients that occured recently. Please be assured that we won't let that happen again.
We took this as a lesson, and quickly reacted by adding more database slaves, more backups and more security overall on our infrastructure.

At this moment, every previous issue has been solved and we are back operational at 100%!

We hope you enjoy mining on our pools. Bring back the hashes!

*If you feel like your balance is somehow still incorrect, feel free to contact us at any time at [email protected]

Just wondering when we're going to move over to the new website copy (http://darkcoin.us/io)? I think we could slap the new logo on this and replace the old website right away. This is much better, although I would love the chance to edit this down and make it more readable for the web.  Smiley

We definitely need a professionally designed website but this is good for the interim IMO.

Wondering if anyone from the community would be interested in funding a 'Darkcoin themed' SSL (https) web Based proxy on a TLD to seriously promote Darkcoin ? I have unused promotional credits for new proxy TLD's - with available / extra server bandwidth being the only real restriction for mass traffic to further promote DRK.

I have suitable hosting and can handle all the technical aspects etc., although a much better page design would be useful.

Anyone interested? Cheers!

If only I knew what this all means, aside from somehow using tor with Darkcoin, which I probably will never do because It seems a few miles over my head, LOL.  Hope it catches on and that some people with know how do join in Smiley

Who the fk is dumb enough to sell 12 btc's worth of darks at the low ass price of 13500.

To me it just proves that these coins are still being well distributed to the masses.  The more people that hold dark, the healthier the coin is, and I dare say it's the healthiest altcoin out there!

DarkCoin's new logo is very very very similar to logo of  company DaKine - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DaKine

The only correct choice was number 2.  Everyone who picked something else was wrong.  I am an American millennial.  My subjective opinion is the only one that matters.

Press release is live! Now that I have everything setup to do this, we should be able to launch one much quicker for RC2.

http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/23pstu/darkcoin_rc1_press_release/

Good work, but please next time let someone proofread for minor errors. I think it's important we stay as professional as possible and set DarkCoin apart from other coins. I'm a librarian married to an english professor whose mother is a technical writer, I'll happily volunteer to proofread for you (and will get their help!).

I'm not trying to be a dick, it's a fine release and I appreciate the work Mannie (it was his work, yes?) put into it. Peer review can be good though Smiley.

edit: Do you have links for the various places it was distributed yet? I don't know how long they take to propagate around the web so maybe they aren't out there yet.

Didn't want to mention this in the very first post after he announced it (and it was posted for proofreading a few days ago, so we all had our chance) but I agree.  Minor punctuation and paragraph structure things, I believe pseudonymous was meant to be pseudo - anonymous, and some parts are a little too far inside the bubble for mass consumption.

All in all not too shabby though.

Thanks guys. Future media releases could certainly benefit from some proof reading. It can be hard to spot one's own mistakes, especially when updating and adding to a previous draft.

re pseudonymous: I believe my usage was correct ("pseudonymous digital addresses"). The Bitcoin protocol is pseudo anonymous but the digital addresses are pseudonymous, in that they are false identities.

Ahh, learn something every day Smiley.

The Buck Stops Here.

Out of curiosity, why do you have max connections only at 8?

Only out of courtesy to Tor network / servers bandwidth really.

Although, even with the 2 .onion nodes running it takes a good while to get more than that many connections through Tor.

8 connections was the original setting in the first Bitcoin client to ensure 'optimal' connectivity, times have changed, but Satoshi tested that extensively.

You can set maxconnections to a higher value ofc.

P2P over Tor is a 'mess' at best. Luckily port 9999 used by Darkcoin works quite well over Tor as its included in the 'Reduced Exit Policy' list of a large number of Tor Exit Nodes. See: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ReducedExitPolicy

Yes, pseudonymous is used correctly here. It's been used to describe BTC by professionals; see here: http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-08-27/bitcoin-may-not-be-so-anonymous-after-all
