Dash Public Slack owner on a power trip much ?

This does remind me of a certain Bitcoin reddit owner ...

Anyways, the reason i'm mentioning this in here is because it became very clear lately that the Public Dash Slack is not representative of the Dash
morals and ethics that it should represent and is therefore unfit to be recommended anymore to newcomers.

For now i would suggest to just stick with referring to our official channels Bitcointalk, Reddit, Twitter, Dash.org and Amanda's YouTube channel.

Please state for the record your opinion about Dash's recent(?) embrace of AML/KYC via Coinfirm.

Thanks in advance.

i couldn't care less. actually it will be great for mainstream adoption by corporate and institutional level investors ($$$) like bitcoin has. AML/KYC compliance and mainstream adoption is not a problem monero xmr is going to have to worry about, stick to the darkmarkets boys and let the men take crypto to the next level...

How Are Cryptocurrencies Solving Bitcoin’s Adoption Issue?
By Joël Valenzuela - October 3, 2016

“Obviously Bitcoin is stagnating, 70% is distributed to the lucky few who seem to have no interest in getting it in the hands of the general public. Or they don’t know how. It’s difficult to fix something like that and in my opinion a waste of time. It’s just waiting for a better alternative that learned from Bitcoin’s mistakes and understands how to reach the general public.”

Eric Sammons, a member of the Dash development team, does not hold the view that Bitcoin is stagnating, but rather that it is simply shifting away from its original goal of being an effective payments system:

“I wouldn’t say Bitcoin is stagnating as much as it is going in a direction different from Satoshi’s original vision of a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. Bitcoin is becoming more of a store of value than a payment system. There is nothing inherently wrong with that, and it can be something of great use for society.”

“It seems to me that no crypto has yet been able to become a replacement payment system that is superior to our current one. But Dash is being the most aggressive at trying to achieve that, especially with upcoming release of Evolution.”

The trouble with comments like this arielbit is that there is no structure. Its too verbose, I simply can't be bothered reading it. even scrolling past is a bit annoying due to its length.

i just showed the discussion i had with tante about the problem of dash's partly private blockchain and pointed out that it can be analyzed..now it came true...that's all..

yawn, so not true.

analyze this....

Dash De-anonymization Contest

Icebreaker and other trolleros: I have donated $1 to Monero's development team. I sent 0.25 Dash (TX ID: 59d51690d4b56ddbf1e393fa8d3a49bcfc3247f270f36be3b6ee411802666cba-000) to shapeshift.io, which converted it to Bitcoin and sent it to the official Monero donation address listed at https://getmonero.org/getting-started/donate/.

I challenge you to de-anonymize this transaction. To make it just a little easier, I only used four rounds of Darksend, so it's exponentially less private than it would be with the maximum eight rounds.

Please tell me what address this transaction originated from.

Cheers!

wall of unreadable troll spam

lol, that's funny because when i saw arie's name i too just scrolled to the bottom without reading it. i would put him on ignore but then i can't report him for trolling. nothing makes me happier than to have trolls keep this thread bumped for us and then have mods delete there post before anyone sees their troll spam.

this thread was dying as everyone moves to slack and the dash forum, thanks for reviving it and keeping it bumped, you guys are so easy to manipulate.  Grin

now back to DASH.

Hi Guys,

I am not sure if you have had time to check out Comodore's proposal for this month, he is doing a great job to promote Dash in his region and I think it deserves your consideration. We are still on time so please check it out if you get a chance.

Maybe I should practice reading the links before posting them and avoid making myself look stupid...

The term Master Node is derived from pieces of existing concepts

Just like... every. fucking. new concept. in R&D.

It gets murkier and murkier by the day:

Quote from: Coins101
The concept of Masternodes was not actually invented by DASH

Another idea stolen without giving proper credit.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16412006

This Dashcoin project makes a complete mockery of open source, while sending newbies into small coners of the internet to 'avoid trolls'.

What these Instascam groupies around here do is try to shutdown what a scam this project is by diverting new investors into closed channels where only one view of history is pumped into their brains, you know, like brainwashing.

This makes me wonder what other little thieving and passing off as original ideas gems we can uncover?

You've come a long way...

Yes we have.

A couple of years ago, the idea of supporting supremely reliable levels of privacy in a public, transparently auditable blockchain, while retaining compatibility with the bitcoin commercial ecosystem looked like a far off dream.

It is now a reality.

Not only that, the articulated architecture deployed to address those twin objectives has been so successful that it's now opening up a whole range of services to be natively supported using this same approach - i.e. addressing complex problems by decoupling conflicting priorities and addressing them independently. This is what has given the network its real value (as opposed to speculatively engineered pump & dump value).

Take a look at this chart for example: http://178.254.23.111/~pub/masternode_count.png

The 4000-node network has taken all of 2 years to grow. Unique and multi-faceted, it is resource that cannot be reproduced overnight. It's not just some technical "feature" anymore, but a monetary, social and technical asset in its own right that is as powerful as it is ubiquitous.

It will also be serving as the basis for the next wave of solution delivery soon to appear over the horizon - decentralised API's, high performance anonymity and a service oriented architecture that addresses the needs of industrial users, not bedroom hoarders.

Another thing I'm pleased about is that Dash did not follow the herd blindly up the cul-de sac of obfuscation-based privacy. Coins that did are now starting to pay a heavy price for that folly since obfuscatoin-based tech is now coming free with cornflakes packets and popping up like mushrooms after a rainshower. Good for a bit of temporary money laundering and useless for everything else while having to resort to toxifying market pumps to retain attention.

Prob'ly why you don't find Dash amongst them. Grin

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
Please state for the record your opinion about Dash's recent(?) embrace of AML/KYC via Coinfirm.

Why should I have an opinion about it either way ?

[extenuating deflection]

OK.  Thanks for the response.  Sorry to hear asking for your opinion ("either way") is such an absurd imposition.   Undecided

I honestly am surprised you (ostensibly) don't care "either way" about Dash embracing AML/KYC.

Perhaps that's part of why vertoe accused you guys of only caring about the "golden donkey" aspect of the Evan's Gate HYIP.

You've come a long way from DarkCoin's InstantX and PrivateSend's paeans to privacy.  But the code has not....

It's a decentralised community and Dash's technical objective is to maximise fungibility without recourse to loss of transparency. People are therefore free to trawl the blockchain if they so wish and the staffers have a professionally duty to support initiatives wishing to provide services to 3rd party adopters, whatever market sector they may be in.

We will now see how noble and valuable that objective is - to support the confidence that transparency brings without loss of anonymity for users and to avoid this sort of thing where scams, heists and rumourmills are allowed to grow in a pit of blockchain obscurity and everything happening inside a back hole  Wink

Appearently one of our trolls went straight to Dash.org and is trying to organize
a Dash fork with our own budget funding (how ironic is that).

We are probably gonna have to fork into another project and find our own developers from within the community.
We can let the core have their crappy centralized bankster Dash.
with shady crappy proposals and a lack of an active community.

A fud-posting frenzy from the Monero people in the Dash thread ?

Are we to understand that panic is now setting in that you're about to lose your Mcap place back to Dash when the next 4-hour chart correction ensues ? LoLz
