this is because a network latency occurs sometimes. orphan blocks mean then never got to the blockchain so they aren't valid thus noone gets those coins.

Yes but did he say why? lol... Oh and what actually is an orphan? Again I do remember reading about it but I do so much reading the lines can get blured... Are they actually coins? If so are they lost forever? I would like to know these kinds of things but purely out of curiosity so no stress if you don't know/can't find out...

Would be inetersting to see what baritus has to say about the future of dgc, like whether there are any upcoming developments... I suppose the dgc forum would be the place to ask that though, I have probably spammed your thread too much already! lol... Sorry about that, although at least you get a bump

i had a short conversation with him and he said it's okay to have some that amount of orphans. not sure if he'll come up here himself.

I see, to be honest the only thing I know about dgc is that you can buy a mars bar with them! lol... Oh and a house, though i looked at them and I wouldn't touch either with a barge pole! lol

Baritus? Who is that?... I have read before that is the reason for orphans previously but not sure how true it is.

Hmmm, well I am hard wired internet wise and not running anything else off it like youtube or such, just normal browsing... I didn't notice the 3-10 minute blocks and when I saw it, it was dipping up and down even though they were all 1-3 minute blocks... I was getting like 5.5 per hour but this went down to 2.5 at its lowest then hovered around 3ish for quite a while... It is still doing it now...

I will reboot my miner and see what that does... Thanks for looking at it anyway, I guess there must be an issue my end afterall...

Edit: rebooted and did an internet speed test... 39 ms ping 7 mb download but only 0.8 mb upload... Is there anything there that could be an issue? That upload looks rather pants...

Edit: Can't say I can see any improvement since the reboot, though I haven't seen that stratum error (though haven't really been looking)... Still I have banked 17 odd in like 4 hours so much much better than before... I'll keep an eye on it anyway... I do realise that there is some varience with these things and that payout will go up and down, it just seemed to stay down even though the blocks were coming in thick and fast... I would expect it to start going back up but it went down some more then up and down, but never back to the 5 odds level I was getting before.

Edit: Seems to be going back up again, might have just been the usual pool varience or due to the orphans maybe? Still a little concerned about the lost shares issue but I will look into that some more my end... Thanks again for looking into it for me...

Edit: Okay I am getting some more stratum disconnects and I am checking internet while that happens, other sites load fine and snappy as usual but yours does not, i am fairly sure it is not my end. Is there a way we can illiminate the problem? Or find out for sure which end it is?

Oh and the miner also reports that the stratum is not responding... Cheers bud

stratum should not disconnect unless you had some local connectivity interruptions. i can't see anything bad on server graphs. and about lower payouts, that is due to a bad luck, that happens sometimes. you can notice some 3-5-10 minutes blocks in block stats, that's why payouts were slower that time.

Hey fella, my average coins per hour seems to have dropped of a cliff over the last hour, do you know why that is? I did notice some notices in cgminer saying "lost 30 shares due to stratum disconnect" or something like that... Do you know what causes this? Cheers

Yeah I know I was just so frustrated mate... Everywhere I turned I seemed to be getting ripped off... Didn't know if I had a trojan or what... Yours was the first thread I found after googling the other pool so came in here... Glad I did now anyway cos finally found one that gives me what I should get...

Yeah like I said I will give it a day mate... But I can already see a MASSIVE improvement! Don't even need you to check or to wait an hour... This is what I should be getting... It is already saying 1.92 an hour and I have banked like 1.6ish... I knew something was wrong... It must be those pools mate, what else can it be?

Edit: and I know that the payouts are still increasing... Come on, 28 for over 12 hours is not right mate, not by a long way...

if your account is snaz32, you are mining for like a few minutes now so there's nothing to check yet. wait for a hour or two and check your stats then.

Can I just ask how many coins would you expect me to get a day with 1400 kh/s? And can I try out your pool for a day and get you to look at my stats to see if you can see if something is wrong? I checked the calc and it says I should get 112 or something so 28 for over 12 hours is nowhere near what I should be getting...

Just don't understand it, I have never had these problems before...

Edit: I have joined your pool and hope you can help me get to the bottom of it... If I get problems on your pool then it must be something my end... If not then I don't know what to think... Btw if all goes well I will stick with your pool, it looks nice!

I posted here cos it was the first dgc pool thread I saw but I probably shouldn't have, made my own thread now...
