When do you think the next really big price rise will be?

Large % moves are easy, the recent move from ~32 to 48 was a full 50% which is really quite good.
An actual Rally back to 100/200/300 is uncertain, but it sure would be exciting.  Smiley

Today's rally from 36 to 42 was quite nice too Smiley

Yes  Smiley
I didn't notice right away, then I did, but Cryptsy has a "maintenance notice" and cannot log back in.
Hopefully, they will be back up and working soon.

That's weird, it's been working right for me. Might explain why the volume is relatively low.

Good luck on being able to log back in soon.

i think that time to add proof of stake has come for doge

With the recent vrc mintpal fiasco I think this is the worst time to ever think about such thing.

Apparently it was a security hole in mintpal and had nothing to do with POS. although there are alot of thoughts on POS security holes which I am not qualified to make a decision on.

The problems is when somebody can get 51% of the coins , in theory.
But also in theory it has been proven that an attack could be run with far less than 51% coins.

In the February runs cryptsy had also a huge volume of dogecoins and you never know....

Are you saying someone could try to roll back the chain to a point where they held 51% ? I don't think thats possible.

An attack on PoS would need 51% of all coins only if everyone was stacking all their coins, and none had been loss.
If 50% of the coins are being staked, then 25% of the total coin supply would be needed to attack.

DOGE is very much alive: It's looking like a solid base is forming and everyone who buys now can easily make a HUGE % gain in the near future, but...  It's not all about the money, DOGE can help change the world!  Smiley

^^^Seriously, at least until BTC changes their fee structure, Dogecoin is fantastic for small payments, and those can add up to be big business.

Imho, it seems more likely that an organization could have access to an hashrate bigger than 51% of our network, especially after the next few halvings, than someone could steal enough coins from an exchange to do a 51% attack.

And anyways, a huge percentage of Dogecoin being stolen would have way more impact in itself than the 51% attack that would possibly follow.

Vericoin had the disadvantage that 30% of the coins were kept on a single exchange. Dogecoin, being quite older, has a better distribution, which means that even if an exchange was hacked it would probably not be enough to make a PoS attack. Especially if PoS is implemented only on the 600000th block.

Remember, many young shibes have not even completed secondary education.  Most hardly have a clue about how the fiat in their pocket works much less a new and developing crypto.  The doge community has done a great job of educating its members and tempering the unrealistic expectations while not destroying the sense of optimism and goodwill at its foundation.  The things that don't kill us make us stronger and the last few weeks have beat the Doge community into a stronger group.
