Right now I wouldn't even call it a rumor. More people would be discussing it I think. Who knows could be somebody just throwing it out there for fun, no idea.

That's one amazing fact from dogecoin although having no development still being loved by the community. Yes, I'm aware that dogecoin is widely accepted everywhere and it's still one of the biggest and on the top of the rankings of the crypto market. We just can't belittle dogecoin as its considered as one of the biggest coin, overall.
Base on what you have said, dogecoin is successful.

It's not that Dogecoin would have to prove that or has proven it yet, of course you need adoption for success. If nobody uses / adopts a coin, how can that coin succeed? Adoption is the measure for success.

Bitcoin and Dogecoin are different ones.
Bitcoin has still been developed by Bitcoin core team, it doesn't matter satoshi left years ago.
Dogecoin has nearly no development, or no development at all, but it is amazing that it still does not matter.
For aspect of adoption, Dogecoin widely accepted by so many companies, so many areas accepted Dogecoin.

We can compare that bitcoin having no satoshi until now but there are active developers that are working on its development. You can easily say that no one cares about that but I've read some investors that actually care about that.
Adoption is key for cryptocurrency as a whole to become successful.

Maybe Dogecoin prove that adoption is key for altcoin to be success. We know for now a lot of coins and tokens created, without adoption they not really good in market. Not like Dogecoin.

Agreed with you merchants supports and big adoption is the key of big success and that is the reason why Doge is looking stable in current situation and growing more healthy.

What kind of features do you expect from developers to deliver. Dogecoin in its current form is working flawlessly and there is no issue with its chain so far. As far as I know there was no such issue came into my knowledge. There are very fast and state of the art tokens but no community or trust is at back of them. It is trust and long tested market so it will continue with its current ecosystem successfully.

Abandoned or not, no one cares about that.
The most important thing is Dogecoin has been accepted and widely used around the crypto world.
It has very high liquidity, real use cases globally, as you said the coin still being loved and prefered by lots of crypto enthusiasts.

AFAIK the developer Dogecoin already abandoned the project years ago and it's going on its own. It's a mere joke but dogecoin still being loved by the people but if there's a rumor that Ethereum foundation is going to take over DOGE means that there will be people that are going to improve its current state. There are people that found it not so good until today so if they ever are going to take Doge, they can do what the people want and improve what they want to improve.

I hope the devs would consider your issue though its somewhat technical I think its ideal that they should assist you and try to figure out what is the problem and lend some assistance if they can in your endeavor. Imho.

Reason is Dogecoin has not accumulated enough to fly, but it will do fly later months.
The Dogecoin will do fly as what happened with DASH, Ethereum, and Litecoin, Stellar.

Like what? I see plenty of volume per day on this coin but no ability to compile the daemon. I guess nobody cares about that sort of thing so it goes neglected. developer attention is much more relevant than 'use cases' even dead coins can have use cases.

I assume its just a mere joke! I mean who of these developers from both projects would be part with one another when they know that it will bring no good to both of them. Its like a marriage mismatch. Lol.

was attempting to include dogecoin in a wallet currently developing. however, very discouraged at this point. over an hour just trying to obtain a doge implementation for ubuntu. much problems. I almost never stray from compiling the daemon from source myself. Typically if there is no way to compile it, it is oh so rare I would install a precompiled version. However, just for a tester I figured I would add the repository ppa:cwayne18/doge. Oh, I didn't mention the problem was with an invalid detection of LibreSSL. However, OpenSSL is installed not Libre. So the resort to the PPA yielded the following error:

I take security very seriously on my dev machine. So obviously that was out of the question also. Resorting to the website offered me a javascript wallet which sort of defeats the whole purpose of what I am doing, I don't need somebody elses JS wallet for my work. I need a working version of the daemon. I have eight coins working great in my wallet so far. I thought since doge had such a low value it would be good for learning how to use crypto's which is part of the purpose of the wallet. That's about the only reason it was being included. Along with the fact that it should have been easily implemented being that it's another btc fork. So yeah, I am a bit miffed at this point and hanging up my hat on that one. Unless somebody has an actual fix for the absurd multi problem(s) I am looking at. I suggest to the devs to get back to work on fixing the problems that are preventing additional developments. Also having a repo like that just looks bad. The least that could be done is fixing the repo so I can download the damn daemon! alas, unless I see some obvious route to an easy solve as a response here, there's not much effort from this one on inclusion.

With its big popularity among crypto enthusiasts, I think this coin will still remain in crypto scene for as long as the network is still healthy and with enough mining power to keep it secure. Imho.

It is pleasant surprise to see tweet about some facts about transactions volume of Doge in comparison to mega billions markets. Some people wonder what the real usage of Dogecoin should look around at facts it was used to settle the payments in volume more than XRP in recent past. This is most useful meme coin of till today with real use cases continuously.

I pay more attention on the resistance of Dogecoin in BTC trading pair, not fiat.
For the pair, Dogecoin has to break the very strong resistance at 60 satoshis.
If the coin can break that point, it might take off to 80 satoshis or even higher than that point.
