UPDATE FOR TODAY

  • As we told you during the weekend, the [!mynodes status] command was introduced to allow users to check the status of any nodes they are monitoring via DRIP Masternodes Services at any time. The first step towards automated monitoring is now complete. Whilst [!mynodes status] shows details of all nodes registered, users with nodes registered will now get a DM every 24 hours for each masternode registered that is:

    A:) Not in ENABLED status;
    B:) In ENABLED status but still awaiting first reward; or
    C:) Can no longer be found in the list of active masternodes;

  • We believe now is a good opportunity to investigate the next coin addition. Feel free to discuss among the community as community discussion is one of the major factors we'll take into consideration when deciding on the next free listing of a new coin. We'll aim to add a new coin by mid-week;
  • After the new coin is added, the next step will be to add some additional flexibility into the automated monitoring. The first step here will be to allow users to modify the time(s) they receive DM's about nodes in the above statuses. The goal is to send out statuses every 3 hours and to allow users to select to receive DM's during any, or all, of these 3 hour intervals. However, as always, community input is welcome
  • Having introduced the flexibility we talk about in :three:, we'll list the next coin
  • As part of the planned continuous improvement to the BOT, the next step will be to give users the optional ability to register an email address so that they can be sent the notifications referred to above via email as well as Discord DM

UPDATE FOR TODAY

  • As expected, the DRIP masternodes hosted by DRIP Masternode Services continue to run smoothly and without issue. There are still two DRIP masternodes available within the bot - with more to be added in the near future.
  • The first batch of revenue sharing payments for our masternode holders have gone out. These will be automated and a nice addition to the standard masternode rewards that everyone is receiving.
  • The masternode monitoring service is up and running with new features and continuous improvements to be expected in the future. The commands can be viewed in #bot-commands on Discord
  • The listnodes commands, also seen in #bot-commands, have been added to allow you to quickly check what nodes you are hosting with DRIP Masternode Services and how long remains in your service before next payment is due
  • IFX has been added to DRIP Masternode Monitoring Services. As such, you can check the status of any Infinex node via [!ifxmn status [address]] or you can add it to your monitoring service via [!mynodes register [address]]
  • IFX has been added to DRIP Masternode Hosting Services. As such, you can now set up your IFX masternode server via the simple commands you'll see in #bot-commands. There is an initial allocation of five nodes - with more to be added in the near future.

DRIP is in the process of ramping up a masternode hosting service and, as suggested by our community, Infinex is the second coin added.

For every coin added, there's going to be a free Discord bot service that can give you statistics for, not just the IFX nodes hosted by us, but all your IFX nodes hosted anywhere.

In short, you register your nodes with the bot by typing [!mynodes register iEivpQ5HqZJfVwbF8hxDiDU8gVeyDq7ig4], remove nodes from the service by typing [!mynodes remove iEivpQ5HqZJfVwbF8hxDiDU8gVeyDq7ig4] and get the status of all registered nodes for IFX, and other coins, by typing [!mynodes status]

We'll also be adding the **optional** ability to register email addresses with the service in the near future - so that users can be notified via email as well as Discord DM, if any of the nodes hosted by DRIP go down.

A sample screenshot of the result from the free service is attached.

The rewards have started coming in for the masternodes hosted on the brand new, Discord-based, DRIP Masternode Services hosting platform.

This confirmed successful launch means that we can now start looking towards addition of our next coin.  Grin Grin Grin

The DRIP masternode hosting Discord bot is open for business. Obviously, we're in the early stages here so we need to start off slowly (albeit not 'MANO-slow' :smile: ). We're going to start by offering 5 DRIP masternodes and a limitation of one per person to allow a few people to try the service out. When we have monitored stability for a few days, we'll start adding other coins multiple times per week.

To set up a masternode using our service is as simple as the following:

Step 1 - Get a Quote for 3 and 6 months hosting service
!dripmn newquote

Step 2 - If satisfied with the quote, get a payment address to fund your account (do not send masternode collateral here - the 10,000 stays in your own wallet)
!account payment

Step 3 - After funding your account, use one of the following commands, depending on whether you're opting for 3 months or 6 months
!dripmn getconf3
!dripmn getconf6

When you complete the above, you'll be DM'd instructions on how to deal with the local side of things.

Are you the owner of one of the 432 DRIP masternodes that have been active for 30 days or more? Are you a little confused by receipt of a payment of 2.31481481 DRIP in your wallets for each of your masternodes?

This payment was part of a live test of the 'automated revenue sharing' aspect of the announcement that will be coming next week.

Basically, next week, DRIP will introduce the first of, what will eventually be, a suite of services offered by the DRIP team. These services will all require payment via DRIP and a portion of the revenue will be shared among our longer-term masternode holders.

BTCBTC Advantages Offered By The Above Plan BTCBTC

  • It will encourage people to hold masternodes for 30 days or more, resulting in an even more stable network;
  • Typically, masternode rewards decrease as the number of masternodes increase on a network. With the introduction, and automation, of revenue sharing, masternodes will now have a second, and increasing, form of rewards;
  • Demand for DRIP coin will increase when new people join the DRIP community and need to pay for these services - as DRIP will be the only form of payment;

As always, feel free to submit suggestions for DRIP to consider

Looking forward to this announcement. I changed VPS servers for my masternode, so did not receive the test payment, but looking forward to seeing how the revenue sharing plays out in the future.

Hi team!
I wonder if you have a dedicated team for PR and marketing and how much funding will go into marketing? It'simportant aspect of each plan these days. So?

I agree that marketing is important. DRIP have a monthly budget from which we can extract 10% of total block rewards for that month to fund various initiatives. Obviously, the higher the price for DRIP coin, the higher the budget will be. The announcement we make next week should drive up demand for DRIP and should also result in an increased awareness of DRIP among the communities of other coins. This will be the first step so stay tuned for more details  Grin

For those of you that don't follow Discord, the following is an announcement made yesterday. When we reveal further information on what we've been working on behind the scenes, there may be a new announcement thread on Bitcointalk for DRIP.

Quote
Like most projects, we have occasionally made reference to short-term investors and long-term investors. The reality is that we need to get away from this way of thinking. When a project's team distinguishes between investors in this manner, it tends to result in one group of investors, either directly or indirectly, being given less attention when making internal team decisions. The result is usually that one group of investors gets burned and only those that remain profit.

When we do implement 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin', we don't want to do so leaving behind a group of investors who were unable to HODL and, as a result, have formed an extremely negative opinion of DRIP. If we are to achieve our end-goal of mass adoption, we must attempt to bring everyone along on the journey by removing the distinction between long-term investors and short-term investors. To do this, we must give DRIP coin value in the near-term because, until 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin' is implemented, we are no different to hundreds of other coins.

With the above in mind, we have been brainstorming ideas in recent weeks to come up with some additional goals that will drive up near-term demand for DRIP and introduce more people to the DRIP ecosystem. We haven't spoke of this yet for competitive reasons. However, the work has already been substantially completed for one of these ideas and you should expect an announcement in the near future - hopefully, by next week.

As a result of this temporary divergence from the roadmap to introduce more immediate features, we should be able to expand our community much faster and drive up demand for DRIP coins. The end result is that DRIP will have the volume necessary on exchanges to support 'Spend Privately as Bitcoin' when released.

Yes Maverik93. It's always been the intention to add any coin that shows signs of gaining some traction with regards to widespread adoption as a form of payment. Introducing the feature with BTC alone makes most sense for now. That will get the DRIP name out in the mainstream resulting in increased volume. This increased volume will then allow us to consider additional options.
Sure, atm BTC market is mandatory, other coins are not required soon, but after a volume stabilization. Thank you about your answer DRIP!
Best dev ever!

Hi DRIP, Spend Privately as Bitcoin is an amazing feature Shocked would you be able to add some other coins like ETH or similar? Thank you!
