EAC needs more publicity, and maybe a focus on the Earth? We need tip bots, promotional material, quality looking market places that sell more than gold and silver, all with a keen eye on our coin's name and image.

Also, I see the block reward cycle becoming flat after one year, could this be modified? I like the season cycle, and it's one of the major points that stand out with EAC. Without it, EAc may risk appearing to be "just another coin" on the surface.

I have faith in EAC. A little bit of trust, too.

I would buy now, EAC has only once been this low. After the raping via Middlecoin, a portion of EAC pool miners have left and the 2x/5x are a week away. This has made the price fall, a price I don't think will hold low for too long.

For the most part, all of these things are starting to come around.  With Reddit's tip bot up and running, Earthazaar's marketplace launch, and the Earthcoin main page being redone, I'd say we're headed in the right direction.

Also, I've been testing xploited's Earthcoin wallet, so far it's awesome and has resisted all of my attempts to break it.  I don't want to put words in xploited's mouth, but I think it should be ready to go real soon.

The app Works perfectly.

There is no demand for EAC on craptsy!  Embarrassed
2014 Flagship my *ss...

Relax, with Bitcoin in flux, there's always going to be some effect on altcoins.  Besides, as we've been repeating over and over again, it just needs time.

You could mine at our site since it's brand new.  It would be like solomining until I start getting more users and I'll remove your fees.  Only require the mandatory 0.5% donation to charity.   Wink

I mined 24h got ~4000 eac but didnt find a block on my own. from now on ill try solo. i think i find a block this week... it's on low intensity so I dont even feel it while working with spatial data.

Give it 3 days and see if you find one - as one block pays out about 11,550 EACs. Good Luck!

Who Are We?
CharityMiningPools was created to allow miners the ability to mine coins while still knowing that their hashing power is going towards something good.  Our goal is to provide a positive and reliable service while delivering a small portion of the proceeds to a deserving recipient.  Plans are in the works to allow individual miners to choose where they would like to donate to based on a pool of available recipients.

How Does This Work?
All coins minded at CharityMiningPools will require a mandatory 0.5% Donation fee.  This donation fee will be collected and donated to the designated charitable recipient for that given month.  Though we only require a minimum 0.5% Donation fee, we welcome and encourage our miners to raise the stakes and donate more to a good cause.

Please see thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-charityminingpools-logo-contest-005-btc-reward19-diff-coins-462455 for full details and information.

You probably can find a block every two days. Did you check how many blocks you found with the pool?

Great that you got it working. I am not sure I used the server command. I used it with other currencies solo mining, but not sure with earthcoin.
What hashrate do you have?

I use it parallel while working so it is kind of a nice lottery. Diff of eac is quite low so let's see if it works.
My hashrate is at 320 kh/s with my 7870. Not much but there is a chance to find a block...

example of mine:
Quote
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o localhost:15678 -u user -p password -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-fan 30-85 --gpu-engine 1125 --gpu-memclock 1500 --no-submit-stale

Maybe a mistake with your earthcoin.conf?
Check     rpcallowip=192.168.1.*
             rpcconnect=192.168.1.*

Adjust these IP ranges to your router IP.

Maybe a mistake with your username/password you defined in earthcoin.conf.

Also, if the wallet (server) is on the same computer as the miner, use localhost:15678 - if it's on a different computer, use local IP of wallet computer on your mining computer.
e.g. http://192.168.1.126:15678

I tried your .bat, checked pass and pw and checked router-ip, my ip trough dhcp... everything fits. this is strange!

Did you set your Earthcoin wallet to run with the -server command?  Do the following:

  • Navigate to your Earthcoin Wallet folder
  • Create a shortcut of the Earthcoin .exe
  • Move the shortcut to your desktop
  • Right click the shortcut, click on "Properties"
  • Under the "Target" field, at the very end add a space and type -server
  • Click OK, restart your wallet, and you should be good to go once it's done syncing.

Let me know if that works.

IT'S WORKING.
Nice dude! Thank you!

Is the earthcoin.conf in the right place? Windows key + R --> type: %appdata% --> earthcoin --> earthcoin.conf

I once misspelled earthcoin.conf (earthcoin.config).

There is somewhere a mistake you are overlooking, probably a spelling mistake.

example of mine:
Quote
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o localhost:15678 -u user -p password -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-fan 30-85 --gpu-engine 1125 --gpu-memclock 1500 --no-submit-stale

Yes, that is the right place. I remember I also had trouble getting solo mining to work when I started.
