BTW, I don't think anyone really wanted to share this until it was closer to being finished, but part of the "developer silence" is because we have been working on the new site.
Here is a sneak peek for everyone who thinks the team has just "disappeared"
http://beta.getearthcoin.comPlease don't use this site as there are still plenty of bugs to fix at various monitor and mobile screen resolutions, content not ready, changes to the way the site is structured, etc.
However, if you would like to leave feedback at this stage, let us know.
Some really awesome things coming to Earthcoin. Wow. It already looks great in this stage.
Only thing that could use updating is that top where it shows white border with facebook, twitter etc. links.
EDIT: It seems to be my IE 11 that shows it like that. Chrome shows it very nicely.
Any web developer will tell you that internet explorer is a huge pain ;-)
I have been following the threads here, in IRC, earthcoin talk, etc and the whole team understands that everyone wants constant updates. However, dropping by and saying "Tested in Internet explorer 7/8/9/10/ at mobile, tablet, desktop, etc resolutions. Bug fixing. Checking on Safari vs Firefox vs Chrome, etc." these kinds of updates don't always make sense and often take the course of a few days/weeks. Also, showing things while too early can also be bad. There are many challenges in doing layouts like this where your content will display differently on different devices as you can just deal with html tables (because you want to make sure the information will reflow properly even when displayed on a cellphone), but so many people use their mobile nowadays. For example, if I am trying to convince a store to accept Earthcoin, I want to be able to pull up the site and show them merchant solutions on my phone.
Also, I am just letting everyone know not to expect
http://beta.getearthcoin.com to be updated constantly either. Most of the development happens offline in local dev environments, but we've uploaded a preview just to let you know we are in fact working on growing EAC ;-)
