Scrypt is certainly far from dying out and everybody is mining scrypt with asics not just the chinese.
Can you elaborate why you think scrypt is inefficient compared to x11 or sha256?
And and can you explain why x11 or sha256 miners would not dump the same way the scrypt miners do?

Don't get me wrong, I am not objecting your plans, at the end it's the network that decides anyway.

At this point, anything new is a good thing in my opinion. I have long ago sold all my gpu rigs. It's cheaper to speculate than mine. At current EAC prices I'd have to solo a block every 3hrs just to pay electric on one rig.

Thats good news Aaron As for me you are more then welcome. I downloaded the sources trying to build the client, but I'am a complete newbie in coin development.

I've been looking for a dying coin to pick up...I think this would be a nice one. There appears to be people still mining and market cap still shows trading around $4000 per day. I have some ideas but, it will take time as I'm extremely busy. I would like to hear from others also. I now own earthcoin.us and can host the site on one of my personal servers. Where are they going to do that? They aren't using twitter much. Maybe they should talk about being
bought out? I really love how they created something but doesn't seem to be miner/marketplace driven.

Well, I've been looking at SHA256 and Scrypt coins now for a while, trying to find which one to get behind, and so far, it's easiest, with the best reward with the best pool in my opinion to mine Earthcoin. Also, the infrastructure and amount of work involved in creating Earthcoin mini-economic ecosystem must have been huge. Of course, not knowing what it takes to really create a viable business network, people must have been fudding it for a long time.

I don't know anything about the team or the details of the history, but it looks like something went wrong about a year ago so now many of the companies that are here: http://getearthcoin.com/business-and-trade have pretty much vanished. I would suggest removing them ASAP
and starting over on that page, because coins are made to be spent. Small looks better than dead.

Also, some kind of development report should be given in this thread, kind of like minutes of a board meeting. Who is in charge, preserving anonymity if desired, but how can we know putting effort behind this coin will be worth it?
