I created /r/Earthcoinmarket on reddit earlier, if anyone wants to trade Earthcoins.

I wanted to say that many people are unsure about this coin at the moment. The 2% premined is a major concern for many. I hope we can get some transparency going, I think it's necessary otherwise this project will be dead in a few weeks. The developer stands to make far more profit if they can make this a serious coin, versus a quick cash out.

Also I hate to say this but the the offical website for this coin is not very good, some bad choices overall. First the .biz domain is a low quality TLD, often associated with spam sites and will receive negative SEO. Second the html is using tables for positioning of design, horrible practice that died years ago. Finally the logos are using blending options/heavy bevels, far from modern design. I recommend hiring professionals to make this coin more appealing and presentable.

Best of luck and I hope this coin succeeds, currently investing a bit of my time to mine it in case it does.

Help - trying to mine solo for last day but nothing - followed all advice - what am I missing?

in my miner I only get "new block detected on network" and "network diff set to ...(keeps changing)"?

PS: Must I set the settings in the wallet (mining) and to what?

How many MH do you get now?

Network hash rate is approaching 1 GH/s very soon. Solo mining can result in very low reward

Devs, I have a feature request.  Do you think you'd be able to add a trade feature in the wallet that would allow 2 people to exchange earthcoin for other currencies once both parties input the correct values?  It would eliminate scamming and be a very welcomed innovation.

Well you can send and receive the same coins. The problem with trades is that more than one coin is invoved, so basically you need to involve the two wallets, and how to determine exchange rate?

That's why there are exchanges, or escrew services to facilitate the trades.

I am working on the issue with someone right now, may have found a solution.  It is possible that some pool owners figured it out and have kept it to themselves, such is crypto.

+1 Please keep us posted. There is hope in open source!

Your doing it right, you will not be seeing anything else until you find a block

When solo mining you don't see " Aceepting XXXXX ...."

So you miner will have the A:0 until you find a block and then you better hope it dosent get rejected..

PORT: 3335
cgminer.exe     -o stratum+tcp://stratum.coinium.org:3335 -u WORKER.NAME -p WORKER_PASSWORD --scrypt -I 13

2) Post in our thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-coinium-pool-network-0-feeddoseuusstratumfail-over-377703 and tell the world you are mining at coinium.org's Earthcoin pool (or something about our service);

Obviously your hashrate is not enough to be the first one to solve a block with the net hashrate atm. Solo mining for regular people of the planet Earth is viable only in the first hours of the birth of a coin.

I've done some digging on the "Error 500" issue that some pools (including mine, earth.vircurpool.com) are having.

It has nothing to do with the patch that was released unfortunately.

This pastebin highlights the issue, it includes 3 block_hash styles that stratum is submitting to the daemon:

http://pastebin.com/XqdaCQkw

The first block_hash is correct in size and format, the Earthcoin daemon will at least decode it and reject or accept it based on whether it has already been submitted.

When stratum reports a "500 error" on submitblock it's because stratum attempted to submitblock on a block_hash that resembles the latter two hashes in the pastebin.

Those two hashes are both longer and the format does not appear to be correct.

The reason we get an "500 error" is because the daemon chokes on the invalid block_hash, not that it was missing the "submitblock" rpc call which was added in the patch.

Perhaps someone here has a little more knowledge of coin daemons + stratum and can point us in the right direction.

Software used:

https://github.com/TheSerapher/php-mpos
https://github.com/Tydus/litecoin_scrypt.git
https://github.com/ahmedbodi/stratum-mining.git

Thanks

so do you believe that higher hash rates actually improve things -- or is there really an underground sort of monopoly with this coin, where only a select few miners can get blocks?

I have been scammed by EnZo967/ Vincenzo Maro, I prepaid 400k Doge in exchange for EAC this weekend, never saw anything.

A reminder to keep using escrow, even when in a hurry to close a deal because you have to leave house

Is there any proper list to report scammers, besides everywhere on the internet?

Sorry about that man,... what escrow do you like?
