I don't think the people like EQUI founders can participate in ponzi scheme. Reputation building up in decades and can be destryoed in a days. Not the case for EQUI to be considered as scam.
The fund raised bar should be implemented, I agree. During public sale they accept only ETH, so it is easy to track the raising of funds.

That's true, I don't see the progress on how much funds have been raised so far, or atleast the amount of token sold. Put it up on the site please.

I learnt that the project ICO was able to raise over 7million in its presale which is more than enough to achieve it's objective, why does it have such a high cap at 81million.
The aim.of this high target is to enable EQUI accelerate growth within the business. This would include solidifying infrastructure to support growth and provide the resources required to mentor and more importantly support a larger number of investment projects.
With this they would also be able to expand the core team to bring in additional skill sets and experiences to target specialized sectors for projects. Bigger raise would trigger expansion of the pace of development, allowing a quicker delivery of the platform, mobile applications and to implement advancements and additional features.
And a larger fundraise reduces the impact of some of the minimum benchmark costs in addition to reducing the requirement in other areas as well as creating surplus funds within the business used to support the long-term value of the token.

I admire the Equi's vision and ambition which will be a game changer being the gateway for a wider audience to participate in venture capital investments. Especially as they will support investment opportunities from around the globe, many startups would.key into this.

Exactly! Its a venture capital firm where token holders can decide which companies get funding.
