Enric mentioned in some older post. May be he can clarify if its not true

What I found is this:

https://fair.coop/members/liser/activity/28123/

"If you buy in that places use.fair-coin.org the price is 0.05 so, 5 cents… FairCoop support that price,"

But that whole thread over there gives me to think.
I seriously don't know what Enric and FairCoop is up to. Well I do .. partly .. (forceing their marked) but I don't see this as healthy.

"– as most of us- you can not make it liquid and is better to wait or see if you can spend slowly in goods or services that you need."

There is no SAFE saveing value in something you can't convert back. According to FairCoop FairCoin is their saveing value.

Therefor I have to say.. I have no clue where this is heading to.

--

if you want my opinion..lowering the GetFairCoin price will most likely not work or help anymore at this stage.

What's truely missing is the sell oportunity. A SellFairCoin for everyone not just for FairCoop merchants. But it seems to me that this is exactly what they don't want. (reason above)  But this makes FairCoin very unusable for any investor. I even specualte a bit that this is concious wanted that way. ( remember stacking will be gone too )

Soo.. what is this all about now?  Huh

I am back in observing mode.

The coins which are used and given to merchant is being bought back by faircoop at Getfaircoin exchange rate.

Do you have a source of it?

FairCoop is selling those coins/ or distributing those coins to people and may be merchants. The coins which are used and given to merchant is being bought back by faircoop at Getfaircoin exchange rate. Bitterex is not involved in any way. I don't think Faircoop is concerned about bitterex..

The only way to sustain an artificialy high price would be to also create a SellFairCoin site where people can also sell Faircoins at the same rate as they buy them for.

I see it similar. If you have this gap between getfaircoin and bittrex it will make someone frustrated. At least one person (mostly the salesmen, which need to rechange the FAIR to FIAT) will have massive losses.

To have a sellfaircoin will make faircoop loosing a lot of money. But if wanted, FairCoop can have it a bit easier, just buying all FAIRs under a specific price on bittrex.

I second Anduril post.

A problem too, is that as long as there is a large discrepency between the price, confidence from the public toward faircoop is and will be extremely weak.

Do people still buy FairCoins over GetFairCoin?

From "outside" it looks a lot like everything is dead right now.

If I understand correctly , 1% of faircoin buy in getfairfarcoin go to that address as fee:
https://chain.fair-coin.org/address/fb6SzvC49gspSJ8UJ8Arnyy8ih5F9xJAJM

In that picture you not see the faircoin sold in local nodes.
One decisition of the las assembly was to bring the acces to faircoin on the local nodes, with cash
for 0% fees.    (the 1% will be received by the local  nodes as a donation from faircoop)

Step by step local point of exchange will became an important way for buying faircoin...

Hi Enric,

First of all thank you for all the hard work !!!

I do have to say that I'm really worried about the future of Faircoin.
I understand your point about the local nodes and it sounds really good, but in my opinion it is not possible that Faircoins are being sold and used at the local nodes without it also being visible on Bittrex.
Bittrex is the only public way, besides GetFairCoin, in which Faircoins can be traded.
If this is not happening, then nothing is happening with Faircoin.
If Faircoins are being traded and/ or used anywhere in the world, even in local nodes, this should do something with the price everywhere.
That's just how economics work.
Otherwise, what is the value that Faircoins are being sold for in the local nodes ?? Is it the GetFairCoin price ? I really hope not for the people that are receiving the Faircoins in the shops, because then they are receiving really expensive coins that cannot be sold anywhere. So they are useless to all merchants, because they cannot sell them for EU/ USD/ etc.
So again I make my point that the GetFairCoin price should be lowered again to breath some air into this project !
The only way to sustain an artificialy high price would be to also create a SellFairCoin site where people can also sell Faircoins at the same rate as they buy them for.
If that is not the case, a predetermined value for GetFairCoin makes no sense at all.
Please consider this. Otherwise I'm really afraid this whole project will die out before 2016 is over...
We really need volumes for this economy to live and for any possible new local nodes to be interested an enthousiastic about Faircoin !!!
We need a vibrant economy again !

Mayday ! We're sinking...

No volume and price crashing ever lower.
I'm really getting worried here.

Smartaction: Are there any updates, projects in progress, news upcoming, etc. ?
Would be good to get some hope for the future again  Cool

There are many, many things in progress. So many, that some times i have no time to be pending of everything here...  Wink

In the last assembly it was some important agreements:
- Fairmarket hackaton on 18-20 december (in the north of catalonia) with plans for having the fairmarket productive beta for february. There are 5-6 developers involved right now.
- Creation of the Refugees fund, that will be promoted the next weeks. See: https://fair.coop/groups/faircoop-community/forum/topic/create-a-new-faircoin-fund-for-refugees/
- Creation of an european coop, as a legal tool for extending economic disobedience around Europe  (taking the exemple on how that metodology has been succesful in catalonia):  https://fair.coop/groups/global-south-community/integral-cooperatives/forum/topic/fredoom-coop-the-faircoop-legal-tool-for-the-integral-revolution/

Otherwise, the hope in the future of faircoin has not been going down, in the people that is really involved in the faircoop process. In fact, in different places, there are better and bigger activity than ever before.
What happens is that all that activity is still "previos" related making real use of the currency for the economy in frequent bases. Thats why have not consequencies in the volume or buying pressure, which is the only picture that you get if you are only pending on bittrex..

I guess that is going to change at the beginning of 2016..

Today, I did an online talk in the Amsterdam money lab, that had some consequences on twitter.

So overall, pretty much no one is buying faircoin tru getfaircoin. Sad story really.

People buying in getfaircoin are the ignorant that, imo get somehow *rob* (if we can say that this way) from the faircoop.

Im very deceive from how thing are turning out, and I say this as a relatively large faircoin holder.

Faircoop made progress in some front but in other it is very not going well.

It's in fact a bit strange.
Consider this: Bittrex price is factor 10 lower than GetFairCoin.

When you want to buy FairCoin where would you buy them from this days?

Also if you are not a tech freak and clueless about technic in general.. a Factor 10 is a very big motivation to get familair with the crypto and crypto exchanges and buy them from Bittrex.

The fact that we do not see buys on Bittrex makes me wondering since a time now what is happening with the FairCoin economie.
No buys means no grow indicating this economie is already saturated and that's strange judge from the high flying plans we read.

Now it might be we all overestimated what this is all about. On the other hand it awoke my sceptics and keeps me in an observing position since a longer time already.

So a question for  smartaction:
Do people still buy FairCoins over GetFairCoin?

From "outside" it looks a lot like everything is dead right now.

The volume in Bittrex has reached the semanal minimum today. If happens like the other time, they should put out the message
in some hours or tomorrow  Smiley

So funny if
Sorry, I can't see, what is funny, if someone worry about "your" currency. It has less than 9 EUR per day.

making still easier to do the volume needed for put the message out.
nice to hear.

Anyway seems that today, the fear is smaller that last time, which is a good sign...
Or just less interest in a whole?
