I have been hesitant to comment on this here, but finally figured that if it is inappropriate some of you will let me know, rudely or not. LOL
The FAC business posts on the thread have had me thinking because I am already working on a project that is admittedly not FAC related, and may only be of interest to those in the US, but here goes:
Next year, a little over a year from now I will start walking from San Diego to Seattle, about 1,560 miles using only bitcoin instead of fiat for equipment, supplies, lodging, etc. Details as they evolve are on my blog at walkthataway.blogspot.com, and the project has been accepted for consideration at startjoin.com/bitcoinwalk. I am also actively seeking sponsorship from coinbase, bitpay, blockchain, etc. During the trip I will be meeting with local meetups and talking with businesses about accepting bitcoin.
So how can I fit FAC into it? Thoughts, suggestions, and opinions?
Your project sounds very interesting. Not only will it be a real experiment on how viable/useful cryptocurrency CURRENTLY is in the real world, as travel expense is a good indicator for any currency, but at the same time it brings awareness. You will also talk and meet a lot of people on your journey. Maybe become a walking faucet, while explaining to those who partake in the giveaway the experiment that is FAC. Of course, that depends on if a year from now whether FAC is actually implemented anywhere or if it falls victim to pump-and-dump-zoned. I'll sell you a bottle of water for FAC when you pass by LA!
