At the very least, BCH and BSV users will soon be able to exchange and divest these sh*tcoins into Gapcoin.  Wink Grin

Exactly!  FreeBitcoins.com used to be a tool that helped people liquidate their "hidden" altcoin value on private keys without having to mess with clients or exchanges (you can see our old website: here)... however, I got sick of messing with the exchanges myself, so it became obvious that we needed to take the bull by the horns and make our own exchange.

Boom, that did it.  She's syncing!  Thank you very much.

@BayAreaCoins - seriously though, big thanks for adding Gapcoin to FreeBitcoins.com - It seems to be a good site / resource that will serve and promote Gapcoin to new crypto users well into the future.

Appropriate links and banners will be added to https://gapcoin.club when Gapcoin is fully 'live' at FreeBitcoins.com and the club will also support the faucet.

My pleasure.  Gapcoin is a good example for altcoin ideas in my opinion.

Gapcoin Community N.B. @Dabs vouches for the site, so I can 'trust' that we are 'good' here.

Dabs is good people.

FreeBitcoins.com has two employees.  Myself and Xploited.  X is the creator of CLAM and early developer in Digibyte (he made the logo and created Digishield or something.)

I'm very confident in us and we've ran crypto websites for 5+ years, but I still want to recommend people not to use exchanges as places to store coins.

If you have coins on any exchange... be sure to be using them or you should REALLY keep your own coins on your own keys!

Anyways, thank you very much and I'll let y'all know when we got her live!!!

Does anyone have a list of peers?

Thanks!

Sure thing, however, first you must de-list BCH and BSV, because they are not Bitcoin! Only BTC = Bitcoin.

Work in progress i believe - perhaps we need to find a programmer to help with improving and updating the current GPU miner. I'm trying a few things but it might be over my head.

Anyone have windows build for the last miner?

gapminer-cpu-gpu-rev4-windows.zip

gapminer-cpu-gpu-rev4.1-windows.zip

gapminer-cpu-crt-rev5-windows.zip

gapminer-cpu-crt-rev5.1-windows.zip

How's about an Nvidia miner please?

i have copied my roaming/gapcoin folder for you.

https://gofile.io/d/YzVePj

It includes a sample .conf file too
Hope it helps

Where it says

rpcallowip = *

change to

rpcallowip = Your IP / Device IP

If you use * that is a wild card to allow any IP to connect to RPC it's best to put your own IP here or the IP of a connecting device like a miner.

even so it doesn't sync

Elementary OS has zero issues compiling the latest and greatest gapcoin client..
It's a pretty nice linux distro...visually appealing and quite functional imo..
If you like a MAC style interface..

you could try going to gapcoin.club and downloading the blockchain. Close the wallet, copy the blockchain over, then open your wallet. There are some nodes to add on page 102 of this thread if I remember correctly. Plus there are some nodes on the gapcoin.club site that you can add as well.

You sure you want to rpcallowip to = *?  that would allow any IP to connect via RPC and is very much frowned upon as a setting I would say it would be more secure to only allow RPC to IP's you know rather than a wild card *

Mr. Higgins,

If the conflicted in-built miner is desired for simple people to figure out it should be a more reasonable Sieve Size and Sieve Primes for the default.

Just a tip but I would make it 900 million Sieve Size and 20 million Sieve Primes as the default with shift 64.

There is not much if any drop in performance generation until you go over shift 69.

64 is special for 2 reasons.

1:  64 codons encode all 20 amino acids for DNA.

2:  64 is the number of Alexander the Great Funeral Chariots

On his death bed, Alexander summoned his generals and told them his three ultimate wishes:

1.  The best doctors should carry his coffin

2.  The wealth he has accumulated (money, gold, precious stones) should be scattered along the procession to the cemetery, and

3.  His hands should be let loose, hanging outside the coffin for all to see.

One of his generals who was surprised by these unusual requests asked Alexander to explain.

Here is what Alexander the Great had to say:

1.  I want the best doctors to carry my coffin to demonstrate that, in the face of death, even the best doctors in the world have no power to heal

2.  I want the road to be covered with my treasure so that everybody sees that material wealth acquired on earth, stays on earth

3.  I want my hands to swing in the wind, so that people understand that we come to this world empty handed and we leave this world empty handed after the most precious treasure of all is exhausted, and that is TIME.

900 million and 20 million should not blow out memory of anyone who has not configured the proper amount of memory.  As only 1 GB R.A.M. per 1 CPU will be needed if hyper-threading is disabled.  Cloud Miners can figure out how to use the daemon which is not effected with your in-built miner.  If someone is building computers with 8 CPU cores and 4 GB R.A.M. is not the target audience of desired miners for Gapcoin to mine prime gaps.

Although the optimal is 1.5 billion and 40 million for AMD
Intel is 1.5 billion and 50 million due to having LESS cores.
General rule is 2 GB if R.A.M per 1 CPU core

But if someone does not have hyper threading disabled and optimized lower voltages it will be a problem no matter what.  But it is not the end of the world if someone blows out their memory and has to restart their computer.  Hopefully making the needed changes.

It is the balance for your desired simplicity.
