Your assertion may has been proven wrong since j0nn9 (Jonny Frey) has been active on bitcointalk on March 23, 2018! Also he (or his script) has updated http://gapcoin.org/primegaps-length.php on September 10, 2019!I have to agree. BitcoinFX’ assertion falls in the face of considerable evidence to the contrary to what is, after all, a very tenuous string match.

This is my mininginfo. Program changes some parameters after some running times. currentblocksize, currentblocktx, pooledtx.
All quite normal, blocksize will vary (to a maximum) with the number of transactions included in the current block and the poledtx reflects the txs in the mempool waiting to be included.Cheers

Indeed, to calculate a gap with merit > 28 is difficult. 'Logarithmically' more difficult. (or you need some kind of 'Luck')
And, in shift 33, you will find gaps, but you'llnot hardly improve the existing records* of these Prime Gaps. Kind of a waste. (But not useless, Low shift = High hashrate = Higher network hashrate = Higher Difficulty = Higher minimum merit for gaps (and higher rewards for everyone))

I have been using other shifts but decided to try shift 33 because according to the published statistics there were no work done on shift 33. It's also low enough numbers to find a decent amount of gaps per day.
I have tried the CRT miner but decided not to use it. It's not about it's lower reward but the fact that it puts a heavy load on my CPU. I don't have a graphic card for this code. So until then I will put the effort at lower shifts that have not been searched and high enough to be possible to find a new record.
To me the hardcoded shift 32 is easy to change. To write gpu code for a newer GPU is much harder to do.

Currently, my plan is to make the gapcoin-project 0.16.3 client a minimalist upgrade, preserving only what's absolutely necessary for a Gapcoin port of Bitcoin 0.16.3 (i.e. the obvious cosmetic changes and Gapcoin-specific chain parameter values, some necessary changes to the block structure in order to carry the prime gap data, the replacement of the proof-of-work code, the difficulty modifier code and the reward code). This will make things usefully simpler for anyone else who might want to work on developing the core Gapcoin 0.16.3 client.As for my own enhancements to the 0.16.3 client, I will offer a separate “de luxe” client with source code and binaries available from my own repository.
I feel this approach better reflects the decentralised nature of this domain - as I observe elsewhere, there is no “official” this nor any “official” that.

I like your work. You put in a lot of hours into this projekt and I can see that. I have tried to to solve some blocks but I think I have only found so far 12 gaps with merit 28. Still hoping to find bigger merits.I don't have a AMD card so I use my CPU. The last one I found was this one today.

It appears Mr. Higgins has a remote exploit inside the github source code. As 3 computers I left copies of the Gapcoin-Core Compiled binaries, however the wallet.dat from when I used it now says corrupted file and when I delete that file to start with a 0 Zero Wallet Balance the Exploit is not there!
Either the Exploit is only triggered when someone has Coins in their wallet to a certain threshold.
This makes perfect sense to obfuscate any one target who Higgins' has as this Account Name!
Any Moderator would run the Zero Wallet Balance Binaries from source code and it would not trigger!
I mined with the wallets before ever trying to spend balances and only noticed after Modualia reported the bug.
I however deleted the wallet compiled from source code which had the actual evidence, as I thought it is surely in the Source Code I have on a another computer!
You can decide not to believe me but I am honest. I was going to take screenshots. But Prime Obssesion showed the transactions and Modualia reported it.
The Script is built into the NOTARY Field
The script auto generates inside the NOTARY Field.
The only reason I can think of that it would not be in all the source code I downloaded at the same time is that Mr. Higgins is operating Remote Beacons inside his code set to trigger at Gapcoins being present at a certain threshold to trigger!
