btw i have the majority of my gemz on the old passphrase at counterwallet, can i just send them to the GG app or doesn't it work since it uses now the new passphrase?
You can send the Gemz from your counterwallet to your GG app, myself and others have done this, it might take some time for them to show up in your GG wallet due to counterparty's block times. You can even send them back to your counterwallet later on if you wanted to.

I've been loving GetGems so far. Met a whole new bunch of friends

+1

Meanwhile, just to check again on getting GEMS when one holds GEMS (the more one holds, the more one gets) -  Because now you have added 2 more security features to the app, does holding GEMS on my wallet on the smartphone get me any airdrop? or must i transfer them to counterparty.io wallet to get the airdrop?

Which security features do you mean?

I think u should hold them in the app for airdrop.

hmmmmm...should i? i would like to know what peled1986 has to say about this though...

Go to 'Settings', then 'Privacy and Security'. the 2 security features i was referring to are 'passcode lock' and 'two-step verification'.

Do we still need to be able to access our koinify account to get the benefits later of being part of the crowdsale?

No, Koinify is pivoting and changing their platform.
In order to benefit from the initial buyer perk (that will be added soon), you need to be able to access the email you used to buy gems on koinify.

New GetGems passphrase can be used in https://web.hivewallet.com/ and https://multibit.org/ to recover bitcoins (not gems)

This should be in the FAQ under where can i recover my Bitcoins, same for recovering Gems.

Agreed, it will be added.

Actually where can i recover my Gems if the new passphrase isn't compatible with counter wallet?

Your in-app gems are off-chain, at any time you can withdrawal them (using the wallet tab) to a counter-wallet address you control.

I see, if my phone gets stolen and i have my passphrase how can i recover my Gems? Since the new passphrase wouldn't work on counterwallet. Also is there any other way to recover my Gems if my phone gets stolen and i don't have the passphrase?

(1) if you can recover your phone number, you're able to login with your passphrase to your wallet using a different phone.
(2) You are able to prove you own the btc wallet and we will transfer the gems to your new account.
(3) we're adding the ability to connect an email address for off-chain gems recovery / extra security authentication.

Seems like there was some kind of update today. Personally I'm having no joy registering the app still.

There was a registration problem for 64bit Android phones (LG G4 / S6 Edge /HTC M9), we pushed a hot fix.

Can you post some details about your problems? What's happening, what kind of phone, the version of OS is has, this will help the devs find the problem.

So, to get this straight...
1. The "old" pass phrase will work in counterwallet.io because they do NOT use the BIP32 spec?
2. The "new" pass phrase will work NOT work in counterwallet.io
Correct. New passphrase and old passphrase use different dictionary words to generate the passphrase. New passphrase uses the  "standard default" layout.

3. The "new" pass pharse will work in hive wallet and multibit. Do they support counterparty assets? What about Electrum?
Yes. They don't support counterparty assets (only counterwallet does). Electrum uses different specs.

4. When you say Multi-Bit I assume you mean the new Multibit HD? Or do you mean the old multibit?
Yes, I mean Multibit HD.

So to be clear, if I have no BTC in my Gems wallet and I press proceeded a new BIP32 pass phrase will be generated and that is used for the Bitcoin HD addresses but any Gems in my wallet account will be "transfered" because they are off-chain and tied to my Gems account/phone number or something other than my pass phrase?
Is that all correct?
Yes

Old passphrase doesn't work for me (does work for counterwallet.io), saying I should contact support.
Should I just create a new one and transfer the funds ?

Yes, old passphrase will only work in counterwallet.

New GetGems passphrase now uses the "default" layout mentioned in the BIP32 spec. (this one time change was needed because counterparty isn't using the default key words to generate their passphrase thus isn't compatible with other apps in the bitcoin ecosystem)

To make things clear:
(1) New GetGems passphrase can be used in https://web.hivewallet.com/ and https://multibit.org/ to recover bitcoins (not gems)
(2) https://counterwallet.io/ can be used for gems on-chain.
(3) in-app Gems are off-chain, meaning they wont show in https://counterwallet.io/.
