Not sure what the problem is, but I was telling a family member to sign up and my brother who already signed up had his number and messaged him during the sign up process? (before the screen to save the phrase) It apparently skipped all of that. Anything I can do to get it for him?

Had an issue with the app on my Lenovo A806 (Android 4.4.2).
It kept saying "the specific user is not found" when I tap on the wallet.
Then I loaded Google Play and it won't show up under "my apps"
Had a look around and saw Getgems Messenger in Google Play and the greenish Install button.
So shall I uninstall the old Gems app and download "Getgems Messenger"?

only Getgems Messenger will get updated when we push new things.

Some notes on my experience with GEMS so far.
1. Direct download via http://getgems.org/dl works fine on the Lenovo A850+ (Android 4.2.2):
2. Download from Google Play works fine on the Lenovo A806 (Android 4.4.2)
3. Passphrase and login on https://counterwallet.io/# works fine.

Yes, you can also check and see that the Gems passphrase you get in your mobile wallet opens the same wallet in https://counterwallet.io/
Please try again and make sure the passphrase is exactly the same when you type it in counterwallet.io.
same passphrase will open the same wallet.

the next thing that is needed is some super easy way for me to fund the wallet with BTC or GEMS
also it is not clear to me what happens when i write "100 gems" in group chat (I dont know how to easily load the wallet), or if the user is using telegram but not the gems wallet, would be helpful to have that in the "tips" or make it a short couple of intro/tutorial/how-to screens that can be accessed from the "gems wallet" screen

anyone know if the username for referral tracking is case sensitive?
I think my username is "Dom" but when I tweeted about this i told people to use "dom"

Can we have a normal desktop wallet too to keep the coins secure? I don't feel good to keep all my coins on some wallet online or on my phone
I hate to be the one to break it to you but the security on your phone and on a desktop is exactly the same in the sense that the coins are stored in the same place, you are simply accessing them differently. Yes being a phone and accessing public wireless etc can also have risks but so does having a desktop. I guess it's like accessing your email on your phone it's ultimately the same as on a desktop. Anyway, there is a desktop wallet, ie Counterparty which can be accessed the same way as your phone wallet.

I messed up my registration because at point of receiving a Telegram ID code to input it did it automatically which threw me a bit and maybe needs something in the app to say this will be done automatically and to wait. It presently says it will call you which is confusing and makes people go out of the app to recieve a 'call'.
So because I bypassed the code page I thought I messed up and didn't even save the secret password. Doh!
So I deleted and re downloaded the app and re registered with a new name. I guess what I'm worried about now is am I screwed for receiving airdrops cause it might look like I gamed the system and downloaded the app and registered twice?

you registered twice but both are on the same phone number.
its not a referral to add an existing phone number with a different name because we see it as the same user.
What about not using a phone number?
What about Windows Mobile phones?
You need a phone number as part of the authentication process.
I hope that remains a required thing for the airdrop. People's gonna try to register tons of accounts and use them just for the referral to receive more gems.
why? don't you want the 10 billion people in China registering for the service?

I never thought I would say this but people really need to read the OP, most questions can be answered by reading it. Plus there is a Q&A document which has a lot of information. Plus there are various YouTube videos and articles to read but the OP and Q&A should get a quick read before anyone thinks to ask anything.

Installed the new version, I now have Gems app and Getgems app on my phone.
Whats the difference and is their version log somewhere, so we can keep track of whats being updated, improved or changed? Does the search feature work in your 'new' version? Regarding the search option they said on Twitter it will be unlocked soon, for now only a few can be found.
Before the header was written Gems, now the app name has changed in the new install to Getgems Messenger which i like www.getgems.org/dl

Probably they had to change the name to getgems due to another app using gems.
About adding Bitcoin to your wallet. Basically your Bitcoin wallet is the same as your Gems wallet as far as I know which is pretty awesome. To find your address tap on screen in wallet and then paste the address somewhere like on a notepad in your phone. So to be clear we do have a bitcoin type address but you got to copy and paste it from the wallet screen. Again a very neat way to do things.
