why that huge ammount of coins?

1 satoshi coin spotted...

You'll notice that it is over a LONG period of time - not even 1 Billion coins, or 10%, in the first year.

Can you give me a reason to think we should lower the amount? My ears are wide open. Thanks!

how about x11 and pos if your so concerned about the environment?

From research, you see that roughly 25% of the Carbon in the environment comes from electricity. Arguing that the amount of electricity in mining is what's causing the problem we are trying to fix seems to be a bad stance on our end. What do you think?

Love SolarCoin, hope this one will do well too.  We just got a large solar system installed on our home:-)  Sent message to "biodieselchris" as instructed in thread.

That sounds awesome - you are the definition of the producer we want GreenCoin to support. I'm sure he'll get back to you soon, and thank you!

LOL, something called GreenCoin that uses the least energy-efficient algorithm  Roll Eyes

We felt that being more simple would be better for the longevity of the coin.

Goals: Set up a Carbon exchange using GreenCoin as the trading Medium. GreenCoin is paid to producers on a daily basis for offsetting Carbon - this directly ties a Carbon value to each individual GreenCoin, and is found on www.grcoin.com.

The coins for those payoffs come from GreenCoin's splitting algorithm, which sends 50% of every block to a central address, GZdib7W1cxd2VaEfYAw4ppe6dXhkhbScE2, which is then sent automatically to verified renewable energy producers at the end of each business day.

Milestones: Within a months time, we aim to be listed on Bittrex (currently raising money to pay for their sponsorship), and will also be having a major website overhaul, including an automated producer signup, with earned values of GreenCoin over time, converted to Carbon and calculated Carbon offsets.

Underdevelopment:
-Discussions with new producers, including North Carolina State University (NCSU) about their Sustainability project and tying in GreenCoin as an incentive.
-More wallet development
-Being added to Bittrex - SOON.

For the future:
-A number of Carbon Merchants where GRE can be spent on everyday items.
-A Carbon market featured on GreenCoin.info, where users can buy and sell Carbon - GRE will be traded in the background, but opening up to a wider market will cause the GreenCoin price to be completely reflective of Carbon, and thus will reflect a true open market price for carbon.
