this table is amazing!!!

***AMD Radeon R9 290 (9.8 MH/s)=100%
***Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti (9 MH/s)=92%
**AMD Radeon R9 280X (7.7 MH/s)=78%
**AMD Radeon 5850 (6 MH/s)=61%
Intel Xeon E5 2697 v2 (4.4 MH/s)=45%
NVidia 750Ti (3.3 MH/s)=34%
Intel Core i7 3930K (2.3 MH/s)=24%
Intel Core 2 Quad 9550 (1.2 MH/s)=12%

Wellcome all miners!!!happy mining!!!

Some additional numbers:

Intel Xeon E5 1650 (1.75 MH/s)
NVidia 650Ti (1.95MH/s)

Functional miner for ARM processors = PR by itself. If I understand,  it would be possible mining at mobile phones and tablets ?

Of course mining tablet is the principle of nonsense, but any Media that likes to get caught.

1) If the tablet ARM miner had a similar power efficiency (hashrate/watt) which it probably would that would be doubly huge. And if it had greater power efficiency (with AES hw support) that would be…

2) ARM procs with AES hw accelerators (Groestl likes these) will begin shipping in more laptops, small desktop systems, and HTPC like systems)

3) Google will begin designing new server farms based on ARM architecture

This coin will be mined for years to come. Getting ARM integration sorted now is massive imo ARM is clearly the architecture of the future.

4) according to Christian Buchner of ccmienr fame, since the ARM NEON implementation already exists (!!!!!) all that needs to be done is for it to be integrated into cpuminer

I'm the dev of GroestlCoin and I thought I need to share some of my thoughts on this.
(I apologise in advance for a lengthy and non-structured email, it's getting quite late here in New Zealand)

First of all, I always wanted GRS to be a community coin. So please, if you have any recommendations or suggestions, share them.
Do you think that we need to add some feature to the coin or do you feel that some important aspect is not represented (like no dice games in GRS or no Android wallet, whatever) - just post this in the thread.

Small suggestion in the pursuit of accuracy:

Get rid of the claim that Groestl is ASIC resistant.  There have already been evaluations of the core Groestl hash function on ASICs as part the work that was done leading up to the SHA3 competition.  It's absolute nonsense to make any such claim.  If GRS were to be as successful as scrypt, there would be an asic for it -- much faster than for scrypt, because it's relatively straightforward.

Instead, be more accurate:  Point out that Groestl can and is accelerated by the hardware AES support present in most modern Intel CPUs, which helps reduce the efficiency gap between a CPU and other implementations.

Well said.

The ASIC resistant claim is invalid, as it is with all algos.

Point out that Groestl can and is accelerated by the hardware AES support present in most modern Intel CPUs, which helps reduce the efficiency gap between a CPU and other implementations.

Superb!

I would also point out that some ARM chips feature hardware AES support. There already exists an ARM NEON implementation. Someone with the right skillz just needs to put it into cpuminer. 35k BOUNTY

And what about this slogan?

Once mined I can see a PoS coin dying a slow death… whats the incentive?
As a POW can increase value by reducing the bloc reward, POS increase value by making people holding coin/not dumping + interest.

Groestl algo is very good for POW/mining. We do not have to switch to pure POS, but maybe to POW+POS, as the bloc reward continue to decrease.

btw : nice presentation of Groestlcoin on cryptomining blog + new ccminer for groestlecoin (on cryptomining blog too)

thank you for your considered response.

p.s. azhago - pls PM me about French translation Smiley thanks

POS has the favor of the investors. Remember that the success of a coin can be thanks to his algo, but also popularity. POS coin are popular these days, even with so hatefull algo as scrypt.

I can do the french translation.

Also, i saw a tutorial about mining is needed ?

Any additional tutorials in different languages would be great!
Tres bien!

The PoS question is intersting and GRS could always adopt it in the future.

However…

Is it possible that PoS is just the current fashion? Will it be fashionable in a year? Lets not forgt BTC is PoW and nothing secures the network like miners mining.

TBH i dont even have a grasp of what PoS offers above PoW. You earn by holding your coins? What service does this provide?

Once mined I can see a PoS coin dying a slow death… whats the incentive?

I dont want GRS blindly following some shitcoins down PoShit alley.
BTW The other coin I hold dear is DRK - that is not PoS…

Is PoS bullshit?
Do only shitcoins crave PoS?
what am I missing?

PoW FTW

IMHO, kiddys playing with rate, If I was so wrong Wink

thats always a possibly
it's being backed by an increase in network hashrate as well.
