Looks like Mintpal have doubled the cost of votes now, I know they have made a few btc at the two leading coins now are very new coins.

Mental!!!

Yeah bitcoin price has fallen so much that they want more. The problem with the voting system is it's flawed. Devs that made btc from previous scam coins, create new coins and use that btc to fund
getting on major exchanges as a big plus for the coin, however those days are coming to a end. Mintpal has even removed coins with hardly any trade. I honestly suggest iCoin does not be in a hurry to get onto mintpal until volume picks up. Being on mintpal or cryptsy doesn't mean instance increased volume. Look at ISRA on bittrex, bittrex is not known for volume but ISRA is getting over 150 btc worth of trades a day. Why because of exposure and having a purpose of catering towards Israel.

iCoin needs that purpose in it's life to get buyers and more media attention. It's a great coin that is currently in limbo status.

The convention was a good start though and hopefully the representative made some good contacts that will help move the coin forward.

iCoin was up there with some very established coins, something to be very proud of. The road is long but as long as this coin adapts, the team stay focused and the community helps out then I see a bright future.

Just a brief announcement, SuchPool has closed the iCoin pool. Since we've had 0 hashpower for a little while, its not of any use to keep it up for now. However, we are keeping our database just in case.

The pool page will stay up for a bit for users to withdraw their remaining coins.

Bitcoin depression is having terrible effect on alt coins but there is one problem with iCoin, it needs more media attention. I look for articles after the convention and nothing. I think not many people went because of bitcoin depression, if bitcoin over $1000 you not of gotten a seat.

This is my theory but iCoin needs a story and reason for buyers now.

Has the presentation been released, would like to hear from the speaker at the event to see how iCoin was received.

We will be having a team meeting with bigridg7 later to discuss the conference and the feedback we got from the attendees. It might shed some light on where we need improvements.

Obviously making it onto major news publications is something we intend to initiate in the coming weeks and months now that we have content to show.

After iCoin being offline on cryptorush for almost 7 days. I managed to get it online again.
Please do note that withdrawing your BTC from isn't possible yet.

https://cryptorush.in/index.php?p=trading&m=ICN&b=BTC

Yes , please be careful using cryptorush and don't do large trades on it if you do insist on using the exchange.

As Captain has mentioned X11 will be the better option to back when the change is needed.

I'd use Swisscex for exchanging Icoin.  You can't deposit or withdrawal BTC at cryptorush, they even admit on the front page of their site!

Anyway here's a pic of developer Ryan Ridgeway giving his presentation at the 1st Cryptocurrency Convention 2014, NY

X11 or groestl are both great. Groestl is even more efficient than X11 and allows some good cpu mining and is old gpus and nvidia friendly, kind of universal and really balanced algo, i love it afaic, very promising, see groestlcoin : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anngrs-groestlcoin-1st-to-activate-segwit-building-lightning-network-525926.

N-scrypt is not that efficient, it's between X11 and scrypt in terms of power consumption.

With summer coming, better go for the best efficiency to keep miners motivated.

We probably will lean more towards X11. Smiley

We will never just rush into any change though because sometimes exploits can be gained from certain Algos, this happened recently with the earlier implementations of KGW.

Yeah take ur time, no need to rush it, X11 seems to be the safer bet right now, it's becoming quite popular among the crypto crowd Smiley

I have to ask again, are you certain that someone isn't cherry-picking the high reward blocks?

None of the pools that I could check managed to find an average reward  for the past week. Isn't that a bit odd?  It wouldn't hurt anything and it might make things more fair.

I realize that this could just be a matter of combined bad luck and there probably isn't any way to know, but still, I would away from here.

How would one go about doing this? Would it have to be the dev team or can be anyone from the community and I think the block rewards are all 100. There is no high or low like dogecoin.

Really good to see iCoin being represented here, it shows the coin is not a scam and that goes for all currencies. I still hold iCoin and don't plan to sell for very long time this must be most undervalued crypto. imo.
All the coins making this are not scam and people will be accountable if is. Nice to see more coin owners not being anonymous.

;Edit, maybe BTC deposits are working for cryptorush now, but I'm not able to get trades through on any coin on that site right now.
