Markets started to look good already and anything under $1 is bargaining price. I was not paying attention for few weeks to Wan but last night I looked at its market to see what's going on here. Can anyone help me to undderstand the new Wanchain Wallet. When you go to the github page https://github.com/wanchain/go-wanchain/releases/ and download the mac version you get a application for terminal. I opened it and it runs something but then what do you do?

If it is regular PoS then yes, you get a percentage return for the amount of coins that you hold. The percentage of return depends on the specification of the coin and your stake weight (amount of coins held), this could be between 1-10% annually. You do need to keep your wallet open at all times if you want to stake your coins with Proof of Stake.

PoS Explanation

NEO uses Delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance as consenus algorithm. Each single NEO held will generate a certain amout of GAS until all 100M GAS has been distributed, this process will slow down as more GAS gets distributed. The GAS used in smart contract operations and transaction fees automatically gets distributed to all addresses holding NEO.

To generate GAS with NEO all you have to do is hold your NEO in an address where you hold the private key for. There is no need to keep a wallet open to stake your coins.

Lisk uses Delegated Proof of Stake. In this system you need to actively participate to earn a certain percentage return by voting for delegates, this does cost a fee too (1 LSK per vote). These delegates in turn share their forged rewards with their voters. The block reward currently is 4 LSK per block and this will gradually decline to 1 LSK per block as certain block heights are reached.

Do you think they will do wallet staking like Neo or Lisk? You get a return from the amount of coins you hold in your wallet.

Great to see that WanChain is one of the first coins that recovers quickly. It can take some hits but when the numbers are green, WAN performance awesomely.

Really a great news in the future. I hope that if WAN moves to POS then surely many investors will know more and I believe this is a very good time for people to invest as the rising phase is about to begin. Just hope and wait, I'm sure Wanchain will be a great investment

We expect to switch over to PoS in 2019. As for now, we cannot provide an definite answer, since it is currently being worked on. More information and an updated version of the roadmap will come in the nearest future.
