Come on miners, support minep.it, best web pool layout I've ever seen + miner points just for mining...

Hear, hear! Very nice pool indeed.  Pointing my two measly rigs at them. I'm segadomcast over there

I really want to mine at this pool, but this pool gives me weird rejects that say "too many values to unpack" and I don't get them on any other pools I have tried. The reject cuts my hashing almost by half when I get one, causing me to lose money :/

Hey, finally got round to looking into this problem. Think I found the issue - are you able to try out the pool again and see if it's sorted for you?

*** JackpotCoin Mining Hardware Comparison ***

As you guys know, jackpotcoin hash algorithm is new and shows completely different hashing speed with other algorithms.
So I made mining hardware comparison website to share mining information including hardware, software, performance, settings, etc. for all new and existing miners.
I will add more useful features (net hashrate, pool hashrate, etc.) to this website soon. Stay tuned!
I hope this site helps you on mining. Smiley

BTW, because it just launched now, I need more mining results from you!
Please send me your mining results via email, PM, contact form in my website, etc. by following form.

For GPU,
your nickname / GPU name / vendor / hash (Kh/s) / core (MHz) / memory (MHz) / voltage / miner (name, version) / config / com. info. (OS, CPU, RAM)
e.g. redpumk1n / R9 290 Reference / ASUS / 3100 / 1080 / 1250 / 1.172 / gpuminer_v2s / --kernel jackpotcoin -I 18 / Win 8.1 64bit, G1830, 4GB RAM

For CPU,
your nickname / CPU name / hash (Kh/s) / clock (GHz) / threads / miner (name, version) / OS
e.g. redpumk1n / Xeon x5650 (dual) / 1721 / 2.66 / 24 / cpuminer_w64 / Win 7 64bit

I will update your results ASAP.

True, but with the lottery analogy, if you buy 100000 tickets you have 100000x the chance of winning as someone that buys 1 ticket...that's the same as this really. But I do get your point, maybe I could weight entries by time too. Something like:

number of shares submitted X number of days mined since last draw. So if you mined all 7 days your shares would be worth 7 time as much as someone who mines for 1 day. I'm using days as an example, I'd probably do it by number of rounds that you took part in. That way if you are a small miner that stays at the pool all week your shares are worth much more than a pool hopper so your chances are that much more. What do you think?
Could be an idea yes

You think it would be better just randomly distributed to anyone in the pool? Hmm I did think about that but wasn't sure if it was fair someone with 50KH having the exact same chances of winning as someone with 50MH. Can you suggest a fairer way? Undecided
The problem is that you will just redistribute to 3 or 4 large farms.

It is supposed to be a lottery. A jackpot in a casino can be won with just a token... So it would be better this way and at least someone who has just 50khash/s would have a chance too... (why do you think lottery games are so successful... it is because they offer a chance (small) to anybody to win some big prizes...).

I think for a pool (or even the coin network) what is important is the time spent in the pool rather than the number of share. Hit and runs are bad for the network and shouldn't be rewarded while in your system a large farm could run for a couple of hours and get even more chance than anybody else to win without even supporting the pool nor the network.

For something "fairer", you could may-be create several category based on the hashrate of the miners (?)

I could say the counter to what you say - why don't the big miners just give a percentage of their earnings straight to the small miners - and it would be equally as valid. At least by share everyone has a chance to win even if it's a small chance, just like the jackpot block itself. Can you suggest a fairer way? Undecided

EDIT: I see you added your way, but I'm not sure that is fair either. I'm a small miner too btw.

Hey guys,

So I thought I would try something new and different. We all love the jackpot right? Well I want to bring that 'winning feeling' to more people, so I'm going to implement the following on my pool.

- Fees will now be 2%, these will be held as the pool jackpot fund.
- Every Saturday @ 12AM EST I will draw a winner and pay them all the fees from the pool.
- Number of draw entries will be based on number of shares submitted that week, so the more you mine at the pool the more chance you have of winning the prize.
Don't bother with a lottery and give the extra cash directly to those large miner at 100MHash/s and above (small miner will be happy to pay more fee so it can be redistributed to the large miner  Grin )

You want to be "fair" take each name who mine for a certain time on your pool NO MATTER how many share they solved (so that people that have 3MHash/s can have a chance) and draw a winner.

For Nvidia cards it's maybe better to wait day or two because of new ccminer announcement...

it's only 5-10% more. I suggest to enter current data into the spreadsheet, just to show some nVidia presence.

Great. Thanks !

I am using SMOS (Bamt clone) and PIMP. They are dedicated miner linux o/s running on a usb flash memory without HDD.
I like PiMP cause it is 64bit and has the jackpot hash algorithm pre-installed.

http://getpimp.org/downloads.html

It is only for AMD gpus right now, but they plan to release a Nvidia version soon.

It's interesting Smiley
