altcoingood. Is your p2pool all set to mine X11 ?

yes i have x11-stratums running in test here.

after block 254,999 and before block 255,000 i will switch from scrypt to x11. automagically. _minimal_ downtime

both mpos and p2pool are ready with backup stratums on both (backup stratums in another datacenter than primary stratums).

i can handle up to 16,000 clients on the current setup.

doing good is good.

Just so i properly understand, the address and port info will reamin the same stratum+tcp://p2pool.altcoin.dk:9435?
Yes, that is correctly understood

Dont be worried. We implement X11 and the other features exactly to prevent such an attack. Asic-proof is only a side effect.

However, dear Karmenions.

Please donate a bit to our charity. We are at 84% of our goal

http://karmafund.me/

What will be the next target goal?

Maybe 20 million Karma?

well, I am just at work in the moment. I planned to make an announcement for a poll tonight (in a few hours). Sorry for the delay. In the meantime everybody is of course welcomed to dontate more Wink

Here I made a mistake, I had tons of Karma coins some months ago but I sold them all when they were worth nothing than dust.
I should have believed in it, now I don't know if it's the right time to get in or it's too late.

How many did you had?

Our coin is different in so many ways than other coin ecosystems and we have very talented people so I honestly think that we can hit 100 million market cap with our current team in some months.

We just need to focus on the work we are doing and keep the good ideas coming :-)

Hey! ptman is asking about paper wallet give away Smiley, I think we can do that ptman when our budget for marketing finally gets out. We can then print private keys of a wallet for GIVE-away.

Your own wallet private key should stay private! So I strongly suggest against printing any paper wallet based on your own wallet with private key, when someone get a hold of that, they get a hold of all coins you have in that wallet. (BOOM!)

And when we say GOT KARMA? You'll reply sadly; "I lost them Wink"

Yeah...I see that situation happening.

So what if the private key would be protected by something, and the new user had to scratch it to see what is behind (the private key)?
In this situation you would know if the private key from any paper wallet could have already been used.
Think ban kvault. This is in case you don't trust electronics to backup your data properly. You can also salt your printed private keys with a salt no-one knows but you (third book in shelf, first word on page 123, stuff like that).

Putting something on a USB thinking it will be readable in the future is just as risky as putting your private keys on paper and trusting your bank.

I'ts just another perspective. Not necessarily mine, but I know people who keep their BTC-savings this way (+ also electronic access to backups of encrypted wallets)

Could we do something like these guys for Karma?
Generate high quality paper wallets?

https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/

I was never interested in these. To me, it is simple. Keep wallet.dat offline on at least 2 locations, generate password as long as private key, print it on 2-3 different sheets of paper and everyone is good to go. Else, nobody is safe. I know also some guys, that are keeping their passwords on a protected cloud storage as a picture. But I prefer offline storage.
print your private keys and keep them very very very private (they are the signature for your public addresses)...

if you lose your wallet in a digital mayhem you can always scan them in or type them in (good luck) and gain control over your addresses.

edit: by printing them i mean use your own printer, do not use cloud-based print-services because you need your private keys to be... well private... IANAL YMMV

Alphi, can you be more specific and give more details about stability fund and portal, so I can add these propositions here - http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,516.msg2787.html#msg2787

Veribit article is here.. its actually quite easy to implement.

http://www.coindesk.com/vericoin-altcoin-spend-wherever-bitcoin-accepted/

the stability fund argument is here:

http://www.nautiluscoin.com/stability-fund/

this is no different from the fund (ie huge stash of Karma) that Karmashares holds only that instead of just holding it an experienced trader is actively using some of the coins to buy and sell in order to give the coin more volume and price stability.

Thank you. - http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,516.msg2827.html#msg2827
