Hi people,

I'm running the leadcoin faucet here: http://leadcoin.altcoinfaucet.net/

It's empty now and I'd like to ask the dev/community to donate some coins again.

LDC donation address: LW3yUkt8tfUNUNnC13GiCR7QBH3hgDDwc7

Stats page: http://leadcoin.altcoinfaucet.net/stats/

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

This coin died because nobody is mining it?

Solo mining is the way to go now...difficulty is really low, so you will find blocks now, even with low hash setups.

There'll be a dev takeover and a re-ann.

The coin is not dead yet.

I have been mining it off and on to get a few here and there.

When will the hard fork be implemented?

Node 107.170.71.190 now uses standard Leadcoin port, if you added this node before, edit as follows(just remove the port):
Code:
addnode=107.170.71.190
If you are using new version, you don't have to define any nodes in leadcoin.conf, as it works fine without specifically defining them.

Call to solo miners
Pool fee on http://comradepool.com:9500/static/ has been lowered to 0%, it was done in preparation to the upcoming new major release with hard fork implemented, if you are mining solo, either watch this thread for the updates or just point your miners to the pool, you will not lose anything on fees and will not risk wasting your hashing power on mining wrong fork. Pool will switch to new version when it comes out.

We need a re-ann before c-cex shuts down the market cause of low volume.
They haven't shut down any market yet, and LDC market is looking healthier than many others. I'm not going to do re-ann before everything will be in place, hard fork is coming, and it will be a bumpy road, as old clients will stop syncing.

Leadcoin 0.8.6.2 is available, only Windows version for now:https://mega.co.nz/#!xURFmSKD!pwEqfO8jdwSIg8Gi81NgykiPyI74w4FqMOQHa1VTZvg
Compiled Linux binaries will be published later, as I need to update some build scripts. Meanwhile you can build it yourself from sources: https://github.com/leadcoin-reboot/leadcoin
This version contains mostly security updates and solves syncing issues.

Trying to solo mine again. The Diff says 504T. Does this mean 504 Trillion is the difficulty?

So you'll be taking over development?

I would like to do re-ann myself together with new client version(no hard fork yet) as re-ann starting post should be updated continuously, as for now, it might be worth to clean cheap coins off the market, there are regular dumps for 1 satoshi on c-cex mined on low diff, it's so undervalued compared to other coins, it's just ridiculous, here some fundamentals:
  • 1 billion coins total
  • Current price is 1 satoshi, which is at least 10x cheaper than other comparable coins, there are high chance that your order will be filled by miners
  • As for today, around 1382400 mined daily, which means you can buy all daily supply for just ~0.014 btc, drawback is that current diff is low and it's still profitable for miners to sell at this price
For traders, it's high risk, high return investment, do your own research, don't invest more than you comfortable to lose, invest if you can afford to hold onto this coin at least for 2 months.

Looks like this issue, do the same thing for leadcoin appdata folder: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/btc-client-crashes-every-5-minutes-microsoft-visual-c-runtime-library-38510
PS. Backup wallet.dat before deleting anything.

thanx for the help, but that didn't work either. i even tried installing the wallet on a different computer and it gave the exact same error. very weird. i downloaded the wallet off this forum and leadcoin.net, with same results. i checked for viruses as well, and i am clear. this sucks, since i was planning to move some LDC around, but now i cant! Angry

I finally got my wallet running...i loaded the CCleaner app and ran a full computer clean-up and registry clean-up, and after the wallet loaded right up! i have no idea if ccleaner got it working by cleaning something out, but the wallet is running again. i got the two new nodes setup and it is syncing up again. hopefully i wont have any more issues... Cheesy

Ok, so should I do a re-ann?

Any more nodes?
You can also use this node(it's block explorer): addnode 107.170.118.16 add
Both nodes always stay online and they share other peers with your client.

Example for adding nodes to leadcoin.conf
Code:
addnode=107.170.118.16
addnode=107.170.71.190:27000

Oh, it did sync a few minutes later.

I added those nodes and I am stuck on "Synchronizing with Network". I get 7-8 active connections, but stuck on "14 Weeks Behind".

If you experience problem syncing with network, open debug console and paste addnode 107.170.71.190:27000 add
Syncing should start shortly after
