I just wanted to contribute by informing the people of LISK that Gmail made me receive the email in  'Promotions', which I normally never read and I think a lot of people might miss it because of that.

Guys I don't understand it. Why should I risk security issues again. I saved the file. Is there really the possibility that its wrong? Kidding me?
With bitcoin you try to make paperwallets offline to be sure, that there is no hacking possibility and I should repeatedly risk it here?

just follow rules like

ma dringt koa hells ausm weisbiaglasl...

crypto rules say, that you don't send unnecessarily security tokens around...
so again the question. Is there ANY case, that a passphrase can be wrong in the generated file?

There have been cases where people have generated multiple keys, etc. So they implemented a method to make sure you were using the correct key that you generated last.

Its up to you really. If you are confident then don't do anything. Your keys will work. However, if you are not using the correct key, you are screwed.
reality check: this is actually very professional approach from Lisk team since people's money is here in stakes, the way i see it and some might agree Lisk team has responsibility to do what's on their power to assure donors receive what's rightfully theirs meaning funds and secure them. They did amazingly good job with simple steps on how donors should redeem and secure they Magic words, even my kid could do it lol.
After reading all those post from ppl complaining made me understand that only few are aware how huge this distribution Phase is, efforts that needs to be put into it to be handled right way are enormous! To bypass future disputes and discussions about donors who didn't manage to generate their Magic words on time seems like delay is only Logical answer. Just imagine Project of this magnitude launching on 11th April with all this mess behind would probably had catastrophic effects on further development and future healthy growth of Lisk. Now imagine LiskHQ ignores 15% (1000+ ppl) of Donors and launches on 11th and then needs to confront for months with this guys everyday, man that would slow down further progress extremely. I know i don't have nerves reading for months Post from guys popping up who missed Distribution Phase, i would rather see Lisk delayed but after Clean Launch enjoy following development and growth of this Project.
LiskHQ good job as usual, ignore trolls as they are not aware how big and important good Launch is, world is watching Wink

I don't agree with the delay. The purpose is stupid and the community response is understandable.
If you consider yourself a legit ico with preset standards, set a date eg 21 April. After that date every investment has half of it's original value.
Till that send out 3 warning emails. You can't wait until the eternity is gone to launch lisk because of a minority who is dead/unresponsive/fraudulent.

Validate your ICO Passphrase!
Important! Every ICO participant should do it!
Hello,

You are receiving this email because you participated in the Lisk ICO. According to our records, you haven't validated your passphrase yet.

Validating your passphrase is extremely important. We are therefore actively encouraging all users to validate their passphrases at their earliest convenience. This is in order to be absolutely certain that you have recorded the correct passphrase. Otherwise you risk not being able to access your Lisk account after we launch. Validation requires that you enter your passphrase on the Lisk ICO website, where your passphrase will be verified against the public key we have on record. No passphrases are transmitted over the network, all validation is performed locally within the browser.

Please refer to the following guides in order to successfully generate and/or validate your passphrase:

...

We make photocopy, downloads and print of our passphrase and still some are not valid  Huh.

Their ico systems has failures at the time the ico was creating addresses...

WTF? Make it simpler to reset the password from the site. After all, I am login with email and password anyway to the site and that info is there anyway.

In any case, I sent that info that was asked and nothing is done.

I asked for reseting my passphrase a month ago, actually on this forum.

Right at this moment, there are hundreds of Pending tickets concerning keys rest. This process takes time and it is done on a case by case basis.

You're not the only one requesting your keys to be reset. You would be surprised at how many people wrote down the incorrect key.

Someone needs to put down the joint and focus on lisk.

He ment that the procedure to verify passphrases is useless and I agree. It's just a reason to stall the launch.

It would be stupid to make it simpiler. They need to ask those question cause if not it would only make it simpler for a hacker to reset your passphrase.

SO you have to validate your passphrase then? is this true? I only generated and saved my keys....

Sometimes I stop believing in humanity. This whole ICO process has been the simplest ever with all steps well explained. Wonder why still so many people couldn't care less about their own investments.

I guess you can never underestimate people enough.

Natural selection is the differential survival and reproduction of individuals due to differences in phenotype.[1] It is a key mechanism of evolution, the change in heritable traits of a population over time.

Yeah, you can validate them, like, 1000 times (weird feature) if you want. However, I could not tell you if this is a mandatory process or if it is just something to ensure more security regarding the validity of the keys, because a mistake can always happen Wink !

I don't think it's mandatory but it was assuring all keys were valid.
It is not mandatory.
