A fully working and polished product will take a long time. The point in a whitepaper is that it gives you some idea whether or not there is a coherent plan to get to that working product.

Yes. Are you guys crying about the whitepaper. What is this? A peace of shit. Empty promises, etc, etc.

Need a working product, not a whitepaper or a roadmap...

EDIT:

And a few weeks ago you cried about your bounties.

I have never read any whitepaper, why would I. I dont give a shit what is written there. I absolutly dont miss it. Most people dont read them at all. All needed info about LISK is available.
yes, it's like a lot of projects with amazing whitepaper but no working product. i would rather see a working product than whitepaper.. for now we can be excited about 0.4.0 release that is being worked on.

It takes time. Otherwise the IT industry wouldn't exist. I prefer bug-free 0.4.0, at least without severe bugs, than quick and sloppy release.

Words.

I really haven't heard any update with the ETA for the whitepaper or roadmap.
It is July 6th so can we get a date for these important items or will the LISK team continue to be willfully silent about an ETA for the month of July and we should assume that it will be more like August for these items to be released?

The whitepaper has been pushed back to July.

You know it's July already? Smiley

Not trying to troll but why is this taking so long? (whitepaper, china report, russia report, forging status, new bountys for developers etc)

Lisk started their Initial Coin Offering (ICO) on the 22nd of February 2016 ... 4 months later still no whitepaper?

Lisk had a whitepaper prior to the ICO which got taken down as it was outdated and needed improvements. The team has worked on the whitepaper and have a draft ready, although we feel it's not ready to be published. At the moment, the developers are neck deep into coding trying to stabilize the network so that we may enable forging rewards and hand the keys to the community.

When is the official Lisk new white paper going to be released? Can we read the historic white paper now? I can't seem to find any white paper of Lisk...

It was taken down quite awhile ago since it was doing more harm then good.

Why? What was in it?

They should focus on putting that damn paper out, that's the first thing everyone searches for when taking an interest in a coin. Bugs/patches/etc can come later.
Right now anyone that searches for Lisk white paper is redirected to an empty page.
That's bad, really bad for publicity.

I'd be shocked if any more than 5% of people would be interested in any white paper.
Some people (apparently you are one of them) has a hard-on for them, but the majority not even willing to read the basic facts about a coin if it's more than a few sentences, nevermind the whitepaper.

I like this, they should put your quote in the page of the white paper.

Haha, yeah. We are just after the profit so who cares about the whitepaper Smiley

Maybe you care, but he is right. Many crypto investors are lazy people looking for a quick buck.

Who knows, I mean if they are so sure about what Lisk does why do they stall the white paper?
It should come out naturally.

It says 'We took down the outdated whitepaper. An updated one will be released once the Lisk team is settled in Berlin.' here https://lisk.io/whitepaper

In my experience whitepaper is something that none really cares about but if missing some people are always asking for it.

I think it's pretty clear it's all about prioritizing and resource managment. The thing about the whitepaper is someone has to write it. Who?

Oliver can do it, but at the moment he is the only core developer. He has a lot of coding to do. A lot, a lot. Urgent improvements needed, security fixes, forking issues fixed, and about a thousand others. And then we didn't even start talking about future development. Like making Lisk ready for blockchain apps.
He is also moving to another country in two weeks, while doing this.

I prefer that he didn't waste his time on a non consequential white paper instead of doing any of that.

Max can do it (at least from some input for Oliver I assume). He is traveling to conferences, setting up the non-profit organisation, offices, taking care of the hiring process, and I pretty sure a million other things.
The guy don't have enough time to write a blog post about his trip to china.
Should he take a few weeks to write the white paper instead of doing other stuff? I prefer not.

There are probably a few other people who could do it, but they would probably need to consult with Oliver along the way, they'd need to discuss it with Max, etc. It's not worth even this much time, IMHO.

I understand that crypto is like dog years x 100, but have a little patience. The people behind Lisk have a lot to do, chief amongst them is getting more people to those things.

But please remember that they still have no access to ICO funds, because it's not (fully) up to them how soon is the non profit corporation is set up.

Anyone who has any real world experience knows that this is a period when the least amount of progress is shown for the time and money but into things. As soon as they have money, offices, additional staff (and they are up to date), things will start happening much faster.

Putting it simply the foundation is poured, and at the moment we are watching the concrete dry. It's boring as hell, but it's necessary.
