What correlated with good price action for Bitcore was the accelerating stake/airdrop returns.
Perhaps intermittent 0 reward periods alternating with a similar accelerating drop periods could be what works.

is there a list of actual exchanges that you can trade btx? everyone I try that says they do have it - ends up not having it once I sign up. Tired of doing kyc for exchanges I will never use. I cant even get my price ticker to populate the price for btx
