Meow was one of the first 100 coins on the board.
https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/20140209/

It is a functional network 4 years later.

Lynx can spinoff.
Get it's own thread.
Run it's own network, which I can't even currently sync.
Also did not have access to a client for weeks after the fork (ninja mine much?)

Lol. It is the same coin. It just got a new name. Is that really hard to understand?

Dash was launched as Xcoin, became darkcoin and ended up as dash. Verge was launched as dogecoindark. It is not uncommon for coins to rebrand.

Edit: The devs should definatly start a new thread, but is better to wait for cryptopia to start trading.

You could try Recuva. A little program which can restore deleted files. There is a little chance. To increase the probability of success dont use your harddrive where you stored the wallet. Otherwise the area on the hd may be overwritten. wish you good luck.

Oh my god thank you so much, maybe there is a chance.. I found a Wallet.dat file. I'm not sure if it is the right one. But now the next problem.. I also deleted the Wallet. The Kittehcoin website doesn't offer a wallet-download anymore.

What can I now do with the Wallet.dat file? And how do I know it is the right file of my address?

Thnx!

You do not need a Kitteh wallet for the wallet.dat file.

Go to getlynx.io and download the Lynx wallet and once you start it and the wallet then rename your lynx wallet.dat file to wallet_old.dat and put your kitteh wallet.dat file in there. I hope your coins are all there when you restart the Lynx wallet

Hi Guys, I've still got KittehCoin's held in the exchange, does the change over require me to move these to my wallet or will this eventually happen on the exchange for me?

If so I presume its as instructed elsewhere, download the MEOW Wallet port coins, backup, download the Lynx Wallet, overwrite dat file and open wallet?

Kittehcoin team..

I have a big problem, I think I lost all my Kittehcoins.

Yesterday I paniced because the Kittehcoin team said all the coins have to be stored in the wallet for the Hard-Fork of today. So I downloaded the wallet but it wasn't synced. Thanks to shtako I got the wallet syncing but this morning it still wasn't on 50%. So I tried to take a short cut to be on time for the Hard-Fork with the bootstrap.dat and removed all the earlier data and files.

But before I tried the bootstrap, I had already sent the coins to the wallet and backed up the wallet. When I tried the bootstrap I also deleted these backed up files, so now I'm afraid I lost all my coins. The new wallet doesn't show the address that I sent my coins to from cryptopia. What can I do now?

The worst of all is that I read on cryptopia this morning that I could leave the coins on the exchange for the Hard-Fork.. So thanks Kittehcoin team for losing all my money.

Just go to your wallet.dat file and save it. As long as you have the wallet.dat it doesn't matter if you synched. You sent the coins to 'address a' and your wallet.dat has the key for that address.

If you deleted your old wallet.dat then look in your recycle bin and try to restore it. Never send coins to a wallet until you have backed it up. If you don't have a thumb drive then you can have the wallet dump the private key and you can write it on a paper.

Hi,

Thank you for your help.. But I deleted the wallet.dat file, and erased it from my recycle bin... So I have no address and no wallet.dat file anymore Sad.. Is there anything else I can do? Maybe ask the exchange (Cryptopia) to find the coins?

Thank you so much

We have our LYNX pool already up and running, MEOW pool will be shutting down.

http://lynx.coincave.nl

Some of the links at the coincave URL are dead and some dating back to 2011 threads:

2. Download a miner.
That's the default MPOS pages, but I'm sure everyone knows where to find and download a miner Smiley

Am running the Lynx windows wallet with '-server' then using 'cgminer-3-7-2-gridseed-windows-alt';

Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt --gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=800,chips=40 --hotplug 5 -o 127.0.0.1:9332 -u wobble -p wobbles

I just get 'Pool 0 slow/down or URL credentials invalid' from cgminer.

I've successfully used this method to solo mine other scrypt coins, but no luck with lynx Sad

You have to continue mining kitteh because lynx mining has not been set up yet. Mine as many MEOW as you can then simply swap them for LYNX. You achieve the same result which is 1:1 swap

I mined some of this when it launched, are my coins still valid? I'm recalling a swap or something that I may have missed out on.

Anyone having any luck solo mining with the Windows wallet? I've not been able to connect to the wallet with cgminer (have added RPC settings to lynx.conf).

List step by step the process you carried out. Maybe someone can help.

My lynx.conf file looks like this;

Code:
daemon=1
server=1

connect=seed00.getlynx.io
connect=seed01.getlynx.io
connect=seed02.getlynx.io
connect=seed03.getlynx.io
connect=seed04.getlynx.io
connect=seed05.getlynx.io
connect=seed06.getlynx.io
connect=seed07.getlynx.io
connect=seed08.getlynx.io
connect=seed09.getlynx.io

listen=1
rpcbind=0.0.0.0:9332
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=9332
rpcuser=wobble
rpcpassword=wobbles

Am running the Lynx windows wallet with '-server' then using 'cgminer-3-7-2-gridseed-windows-alt';

cgminer.exe --scrypt --gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=800,chips=40 --hotplug 5 -o 127.0.0.1:9332 -u wobble -p wobbles
