UBI is a hardfork to the chain, so Devs are going to put a signal client in 2 weeks and eventually deploy whole UBI in 4-5 weeks.
After UBI, the emission structure would become( not finalized): 280MC -> miner, the rest to UBI pool.
Does that mean there will be 2 Coins/Blockchains like with BTC/BTH? What will happen with current $MC?

Devs replied your question on slack channel
`It can be, theoretically , but luckily we didn't see any developers challenge that.  We have communicated with many miners who have realized the upside and potential of this fork.  Nevertheless, we will release a "signal" version of client to collect network information and achieve max constituency to deploy final version.`

DAFUQ did I just read. developers challenge what?

so the answer is "we dont know"

ty but I still don't get it:

What is this signal version? A client where I can mark that I am fine with UBI? I am fine with that. I am afraid all my previously mined coins will be worthless because a new UBIcoin will be used with upcoming projects

Yes, we need several platforms in future! One platform could become a place for electronic guys, another will be a paradise for metal bands...

The electronic platform is the one I would use!  Grin I really hold my hopes for blockchain tech to fully develop into music niche, and streaming in general, that would be totally awesome.

Also I am very eager to see what will happen after UBI!

Will UBI really be implemented as a fork?

so does music alliance gives direct or indirect competition to Opus or vibrate, VSM

Opus is in the Musicoin Alliance. But I think all the different blockchains are really competing on a number of levels. The first level is new users and artists, and the second is integration of the old industry. Everyone is working as fast as they can to service these two or three parts of the music ecosystem.

I have a feeling they will all coexist, like Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, Amazon, etc. Each one will have a specialty I am guessing.

Why should I buy Musicoin instead of waiting and buying Musiconomi tokens?

Nobody's forcing you to buy Musicoin, it's your own business, it all depends on your experience and ability to consider a good platform at an early stage of it`s development.

I know. I'm looking for reasons to buy. Musiconomi (to be used on top of Musicoin blockchain) looks like it will be getting a lot more attention and use than Musicoin in the future. Would be better if they could do everything they want to achieve with only Musicoin.
Don`t forget that every ICO-based project puts its main task the collection of funds for developers to meet their need for money. Investors can build only the illusion of possible enrichment in the future.

I dumped all my coins. I will be back if the inflation ever goes down or Musicoin changes to POS or something. I got burned hard by Siacoin's inflation and figured it's better to dump MUSIC too before the loss becomes too great. As it is the price is crumbling under the weight of ever expanding supply. It will go below 400 sats soon.

I can't afford to dump right now, would lose too much.
I'm waiting for the UBI fork, this will give musicoin the boost it needs.

Will musicoin holders get airdrop of forked coins?

I'm curious to know this as well

Can I add a me too to that.
Will we need to have musicoin in our personal wallets to benefit from the fork and will exchanges support the fork like some did with Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash.

Got into this when it first appeared on cryptopia, turned it around for some quick gains. This is awesome though, looks like a lot of time and effort is really being put into this, although I'm still not sure how the Musiconomi and Music alliance things are working with this project, still though it's nice to see that it's still thriving!

Stay tuned on our Slack at Musiconomi. We are working like mad to make sure that everything is aligned.

Cool beans, looks like I'm going to get more as the price keeps dropping Smiley it's nice to have a project that feels good to support. Any plans on having this go POS eventually?
