Got into this when it first appeared on cryptopia, turned it around for some quick gains. This is awesome though, looks like a lot of time and effort is really being put into this, although I'm still not sure how the Musiconomi and Music alliance things are working with this project, still though it's nice to see that it's still thriving!

Stay tuned on our Slack at Musiconomi. We are working like mad to make sure that everything is aligned.

Is this project related to or linked to OPUS? Lately several projects in the middle using blockchain, I hope they succeed

No relation, different projects.
You can find the details about Opus. And they're running an ICO right now.

If I understand correctly, after the UBI users will be able to listen to music for free, but will artist still be paid as before? If artists are paid fairly it will motivate them to create even more great music Smiley

edit: I just realized that, yes, artists still get paid. So my alternate question is, will the amount they get paid suffer after UBI? Any ideas anyone?

Facts of upcoming UBI hardfork to $music blockchain:

1. UBI will be put into effectiveness from since mid Sept.
2. 10-15% mined coins will be allocated to UBI pool
3. From day one of UBI, music playback will be free according to new PPP contract, which means musicians will get paid for every playback, while end users don't need to pay
4. PPP will be pegged with a rate which is not 1MC anymore but a standard higher than industry price.
5. UBI is universal, means not only to every musician(verified), but also to every playback.

So UBI provides income to musicians becuse listeners don't need to pay. If miners are going to continue to supply new coins to the market, where is the demand for the new coins supposed to come from since listeners get music for free?

At the current information lull I suppose the invasion of trolls who want to collapse the course of the coin. They have one task - to purchase the maximum amount at a low price and shake off the weak hands of inexperienced traders.
Not sure about trolls. But, I don't understand why da hell the price is that low still?
May be some competing project influence it?..  Huh

It is most likely due to the mining of the coin. Miners have to pay energy bills and many simply mine straight to an exchange wallet. This depresses the price but also presents a great opportunity for everyone else to buy the coin at its lowest possible price.

Things will even out as the coin development continues and the mining difficulty increases.

In short, you will likely never see Musicoin at these prices ever again. Some people will buy coins while others will just watch and wish that had.

What will happen to the music after UBI? Go up or down?

I was one of the first to start mining music...and I continue to support the project.

UBI will stimulate vast adoptions of $MUSIC and boost the usages of the coin in different scenarios because end users will rush in to enjoy music for free, while 3rd party developers, e.g. our current mobile app partner and a potential hardware maker to access the catalog freely with lowest cost in industry. If you want to access traditional music catalog like from SONY, UMG or Warner, etc., you have to pay a huge entry bill and cut 80% of income to share with them. With UBI, application developers will have no barriers to create various music experience with this zero-cost open platform.

Sounds awesome.

Couple questions--

What is UBI and PPP?

Will $MUSIC holders get 'airdrop' of forked coins?

Hello guys,

as you know I'm early supporter of MUSIC. I bought some at the very start of trading and I'm mining music as well. Today I read some articles about other projects associated with music industry on blockchain. There are many but to name a few: Viberate: https://www.viberate.io/, Opus: http://opus-foundation.org/, Musiconomi: https://musiconomi.com/ etc.

What do you think about competition between the projects? As competition is good for development and I strongly support Music I think that we have enough place under the one roof but who can succeed more and become brand of music on blockchain?

Musiconomi is going to be a ERC20 token on the Musicoin blockchain as far as I aware.

They have a ICO coming soon too I believe.

Bought 10k MUSIC coins today. Meh it's not much but I had some throwaway money sitting around for months at the exchange and was wondering what to buy. It was a coin toss between Musicoin and Fucktoken and I ended up buying Musicoin.

I know Musicoin keeps going down all the time due to the inflation, so not expecting much but hey you never know. I listened to one great song on Musicoin blockchain today and that uplifted my mood, hence the decision to buy.

Yeah, you never know. Though I too wish the price was higher, one thing that comforts me is the amount of adoption and progress the coin has made. The focus has been on making a usable product. So, even when the price is down I'm comforted by the fact that it seems to be fulfilling some of the original reasons why I got into crypto in the first place.
