Digital Currency Weekly Recap 11-15-2015

Justice Department Crypto Summit Facilitates Improved Dialogue.
Differing Opinions on Future of Cryptocurrency.

http://dcebrief.com/digital-currency-weekly-recap-11-15-2015/

All, we have been doing the recaps for a couple weeks now.
Can I get a show of hands, how many of you look to DCEBrief recaps to get a good portion of your digital currency news?
Is it covering the topics you are interested in?
Do you feel you can rely on it to ensure you are up to date on the important topics and developments?

Lately there are days that I am so busy it is only when I see the recap posted here that I even remember there is news!  Grin

I always check the recaps and it is starting to eliminate some of my visits to other sites, saving me some time.

Perfect! That is what I need to know.

Same here. I come here for the latest discussion and, the recaps. When you only have a limited time each day for news and updates, it works well. I won't always be this busy but, our agency has a new Director and we have been scrambling for the last month to implement new policies and procedures on all levels throughout. A real nightmare but, the end is in site!  PS: YES to all the questions posed.

Personally, I would like to see it cover more college football news as well. For instance, have I mentioned that my Iowa Hawkeyes are 10-0?

I would have enjoyed some coverage on Democratic primary debate on CBS last night. I don't believe that I could beat Bernie Sanders' entertainment value. He might be thinking that Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan Chase should not keep more that 10% of his earning for wishing Bitcoin not to survive.

"I'm Not Much Of A Socialist Compared To Eisenhower" “We have not come up with an exact number, but it will not be as high as the number under Dwight Eisenhower which was 90 percent,” Bernie Sanders said during the Democratic primary debate on CBS.

Hahaha. Some coverage of that debate might have been interesting, but it would also require brushing up on the skills I allowed to atrophy since my days as a cub reporter covering the circus. And believe me, trying to get a meaningful quote from Hector the Happy Clown was never an exercise in joyful living.

You're right about Sanders, though I find him pretty much indistinguishable from his peers on that stage. Heck, they could tax the "rich" at 100% of their income and still not manage to pay from all the "freebies" they're offering this cycle. For sheer entertainment value, however, they're funnier than most episodes of SNL.

On the bright side, however, they share much in common with my children - both of whom also believe that most problems can be solved simply by spending more of my money.

Dear Friends, I wish to bye Bitcoins and exchange it into Dnotes, what is the best and reliable site to do so (I'm going to pay by credit card in USD). Thank You  (ok now i see there are instructions on Dnotes's site)

Found a pretty interesting article that grabbed my attention when looking for news for the DC recap.  "Smart Business Owners Embrace Bitcoin" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jamil-bouchareb/smart-business-owners-emb_b_8535524.html

"Bitcoin is the answer we've been waiting for to our monetary problems, especially internationally. When purchasing, selling, or transferring money between countries, big fees always stand in the way. We're forced to stalk exchange rates to hopefully get the best deal. Hell, even when we keeping our money within the country, big banks always find a way to slap us with fees. They need to make money too, right?

That's where the beauty of Bitcoin shines. People aren't at the center of this ingenious structure; instead, a powerful network of computers and complicated algorithms run the entire system. Thus, there is no entity, like a bank or government, running the system. Bitcoin is run completely by its users. This will help us take back our control over the money we work hard for. We will be able to use our funds to our best capabilities, without paying the middleman."

Thought about this the other day, how many times do products are exchanged for money before a product reaches the consumer, and how much of that final price is the result of transaction fees. The impact on the price of products is probably fairly significant. From material harvesting, to manufacturing and the potential chain of manufacturing and transportation, to all the middle men along the way, and finally to consumer sales.

"Many see Bitcoin's main downfall as its unpredictability, especially in its value converted to U.S. dollars. At the moment, it stands just over $350 for one Bitcoin, but it has fluctuated from $7 to over $1,000. Bitcoin is a risk, I won't deny that -- but, as an entrepreneur, I'm used to taking risks. I have to, just like every other investor. And once Bitcoin stabilizes, the rewards will be worth the ride."

This is one of the biggest issues we see as well, minimizing unreliability will be an important part of strategy.

Coinbase may not be available in your area to obtain bitcoin. It would be interesting to let us know how your experience goes though. You may want to check into the credibility of this site for obtaining bitcoin:

We need a lot more testimony like this one.

"Bitcoin is the new worldwide currency. … Bitcoin is the answer we've been waiting for to our monetary problems, especially internationally.….. We will be able to use our funds to our best capabilities, without paying the middleman. …The elimination of hefty fees alone is enough for businesses to want to get involved with Bitcoin. Less transaction fees and more availability for customers around the world only opens up windows for your business that other competitors may not have even thought about.”

And best of all he is using it as a merchant. “Restaurantware, accepts Bitcoin through PayPal, an easy and painless process for our Bitcoin-using customers and us. As entrepreneurs, staying on top of the latest technology and developments is vital for success -- and Bitcoin is the hottest trend right now. Adopting Bitcoin in your business is by far the smartest decision you can make today."

One: ‘especially in its value converted to U.S. dollars.’? So . . . Bitcoin’s price is stabler against Euros or Plutonian shekels?

Two: ‘fluctuated from $7 to over $1,000’ Ummm . . . no. It has fluctuated between about $188 and over $1000. It has appreciated from $7.

Woo hoo! Buy-sell split on Cryptopia in line with Poloniex!

Singapore’s Prime Minister this week addressed his nation’s banks and regulatory authorities directly, urging them to work even harder to keep pace with the dramatic technological innovations that are now sweeping the globe. Citing the blockchain as just one example of how technology is changing the way that people interact with one another, Prime Minister Lee noted that the challenge for banks and others in the financial industry is to adapt and learn to incorporate these new innovations.

Lee also emphasized that the blockchain’s potential disruptive capabilities extend far beyond currency. He highlighted the potential for improved transactions and trade verification as just two examples of how this technology is threatening to fundamentally alter the financial industry landscape. At the same time, he praised his nation’s banks and expressed optimism that with diligence and an appropriate level of regulatory action, the future of Singapore banking should continue to be bright.

Wow, I think may want to consider moving to Singapore lol.
