I can speak to your post briefly, by saying your post doesn't offend me. We should question what government is doing, and the US government is not necessarily a representation of the American people. If what you say is true, I can guarantee you we didn't get a vote on it. We can all do our part to make this a better world, and we chose to do it through DNotes and digital currency.

"It will be a long fight, but a good one!"

You are absolutely correct TeeGee, it will be a long fight, but we believe a global accepted supplemental digital currency will put more power into the hands of the many and ultimately benefit humanity. We are here for the long run, and it won't be an easy road with many challenges along the way.

We have many great contributors who spend a good deal of time and effort on these projects, as well as creating their own projects around DNotes. From contributing to the forums, CryptoMoms, and helping with and writing for DCEBrief, to creating Videos, and Apps, and even supporting infrastructure. For that we are incredibly grateful to have found so many individuals willing to get involved. However, as Alan mentioned, we are looking for more like minded individuals and resources to really propel DNotes forward.

I just got off the phone with a Canadian Forces Veteran who expressed interest in a position as Public Relations Director with Veterans for Digital Currency. All business aside, this was one of the most memorable conversations I've had in a long time. Although he was slightly apprehensive about Digital Currency, his views on what is happening in the world right now would really open a lot of eyes. He shared criticism about how our leaders are handling the inherent terrorist threat that goes along with accepting refugees from a territory at war. He also shared optimism in humanity moving forward, and made it clear that extreme fringe members in each group should not define a label for the entire group (kind of like Bitcoin being labelled criminal).

I'm unsure if he will remain interested, but I'm sending an information package about DNotes so he can be well informed before making a decision.

That is great. Let me know if I can be helpful.

Any guesses as to how long it will take for governments to learn what cryptocurrency is and what it isn't??  Tweet the article if you agree (at least about leaving bitcoin alone).

Leave Bitcoin Alone. Abolish Cash Instead.

"The European Union has struck on a plan to crack down on the use of anonymous payments and virtual currencies so that terrorists can't use them. The problem is that terrorists aren't really using them, anyway."

"They're using good old cash, though its circulation is already severely limited in countries such as France -- the scene of the most recent Islamic State terror attacks. Instead of taking their anger out on virtual currencies, now is the time for governments to think seriously about the abolition of cash."

I understand. It can get really frustrating. The big banks have been pushing back hard and sadly many in the "government" are their friends.

We know that we are doing the right things and for the right purpose. Over time the truths always prevail. DNotes is firmly committed to build a trusted global currency so that everyone worldwide can have a choice - DNotes or fiat currency, or both. We are mindful that DNotes is still in its infancy, as we get better established the choice will become more apparent.

I was just having a nosey around Bitcoinist etc after reading the latest comments on security, and regulatory oversight in regards to Bitcoin's "anonymity".

“The real serious problem that it has is its anonymity, which is a feature, and is also a bug, in that it has become in some cases a vehicle for illicit transactions, drug selling or terrorist financing or whatever. And you know, governments are not happy to let that activity happen, so I suspect that there will be oversight of transactions done in bitcoin or similar currencies and that will reduce the appeal.” - Ben Bernanke, Former Federal Reserve Chairman.

Oh this is just too much!! The news is but a social engineering project to promote desired opinions. I don't want to upset anybody here (mostly US citizens for what I will say about your government), but the lies in the media need to be exposed! There are billions of funding going to ISIS, and the worst part is that most of it comes fresh from the Federal Reserves printing press in US dollars... Luckily the US government doesn't deserve a look in. The following declassified document from the Pentagon shows the US correctly predicted that a "Salafist principality" (ISIS) would be created if the US destabilized the region, and the CIA funded Syrian / Libyan rebels - the same people who used US weapons sold to them by Clinton's State Department against Americans in Benghazi... ummm treason anybody?

Proof the CIA intentionally acted to contribute to the formation of ISIS:

http://www.judicialwatch.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Pg.-291-Pgs.-287-293-JW-v-DOD-and-State-14-812-DOD-Release-2015-04-10-final-version11.pdf

Or you can read a commentary version here:

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/jun/03/us-isis-syria-iraq

Bernanke saying something so silly comes across to me as extremely hypocritical - the exact people who are providing the bulk funding to "terrorism" for political gain, are pointing the finger at something completely unrelated. I wonder where ISIS have been spending all their Bitcoin!!!??? Perhaps they, or the Syrian rebels used that Bitcoin to order that 50 ton air drop of weapons from the US after Russia decimated anti-Assad forces in Syria?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/us-airdrops-50-tonnes-of-weapons-to-new-syrian-rebel-coalition-a6692126.html

I think it is very important to have a rough idea of why the world is the way it is, and where it is going. This is my personal view:

I think this war serves (but not limited to) as a great reason for bureaucrats to create a "war on cash / Bitcoin / anonymity", they can increase their government powers and delegitimise alternatives to fiat money. Countries like the USA require people to continue using the USD to prevent economic collapse. The Trans-Pacific Partnership is one such treaty that represents  the "EU" of the Pacific region. The TPPA is but another mechanism to prop up the US dollar; to allow the ponzi to continue. Achieving such outcomes requires power to be ceded from individual nations to an international body, so that that body may implement whatever they want (like the EU does). The reason this is done, is to lower government debt prices, which allows the continuation of the ponzi system, in the same way that Germany lowered the bund price. If the government debt prices increase too much further, the interest payments will become impossible to meet in the short-run, and the ponzi will collapse.

Naturally, if I am to be taken seriously here, there is no room for a successful, globally accepted alternative currency like Bitcoin or DNotes in the plans of the bureaucratic elite. The incentives are just not there, although some politicians and top business executives can, and must be brought on board (thank you DCEBrief). This is why I also believe the next 1-2 years of DNotes growth will be the most important. I think DNotes' success will be consumer driven by demand from merchants and buyers. Once people want it, it becomes very difficult for Government to continue to provide reasons to not allow the transfer of value that is possible with crypto in a manner that won't upset consumers. Just think of Uber and how the Taxi companies are pulling out every stop to ban it: they claim Uber is unsafe, unfair, not regulated enough... whatever, yet the millions of users worldwide ensure Uber's continuation because it provides them value.

Now, how many of you think these wars, and cunning debt-ponzi's would be possible if your wage was in Bitcoin? or DNotes?

It will be a long fight, but a good one!

* For anybody who cares for why the US would fund anti-Syrian rebels and destabilize the Middle East again, it could potentially just come down to the oil supply to Europe. Qatar wants a gas pipeline built through Syria to Europe which Assad has been blocking, and the US wants to oust Assad from Syria. Russia however, have a gas monopoly (Gazprom) to Europe, and are rather intent on blocking the supply of any new gas sources that would threaten that monopoly. This is an interesting proxy war between the US and Russia.

Clearly price manipulation in our industry is rampant, both upwards and downwards. They are typically being done to achieve different strategies, but always to make a short term profit.  It is concerning that more professional traders are involved, and the increasing use of bot trading is quite noticeable.

DNotes is positioned for the long term. Its current price clearly does not reflect the true value of DNotes. We have decided to just focus on executing our strategies and not spend much time worrying about the real time price. DNotes should only be considered as a long term high risk investment representing a small fraction of your risk capital that you can afford to lose in the worst case.

The follow article is a good point of reference:

Large Market Buy Order Drives Up Bitcoin Price on Gemini Exchange to $2,200

Hans Lombardo  November 20, 2015

Gemini, the New York City bitcoin exchange founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, experienced a large market buy order on November 13th that drove up the price of bitcoin on the exchange to as a high as $2,200, or around $1,800 above the current market price.

The exchange, after consideration decide to roll back the large trade.
Cameron Winklevoss announced:

Upon making our determination, we immediately alerted all counterparties involved and have been working diligently to ensure the most equitable resolution possible. We have also been working on building and implementing a strategy to prevent and help mitigate similar situations in the future. It has been no small undertaking, and we greatly appreciate your patience, apologize for any inconvenience and for the delay in our response communication, and understand how some may disagree with our decision. With that said, in an effort to be as transparent as possible, we will outline why we decided to unwind this trade, what we are doing to prevent this from happening in the future, and what customers can expect in the event something like this happens again.

The Winlekevoss brothers decided to reverse the trade because it was empirically disruptive to an orderly market, representing a false and misleading view of the market.

Winklevoss continued:
We did not base our decision on the reason this order was placed (though we have no evidence to believe it was intentionally malicious), only whether or not it was disruptive. Our decision was also not based on customer type, although, since it has been asked, we will share that the customer was not an institution, not a special customer, but rather an regular individual customer just like many others on our platform.

In its user agreement, Gemini does reserve the right to reverse or cancel orders that are a disruption or malfunction.

We reserve the right to reverse and/or cancel one or more Orders in the event of (i) any disruption or malfunction in the operation of any electronic communications, trading facilities, storage facilities, recording mechanisms or other components of or integral to Gemini or of Digital Assets, or (ii) any other severe business disruption to Gemini, its systems or Digital Assets, where the nullification of transactions may be necessary for the maintenance of a fair and orderly market or the protection of you and the public interest.

Gemini management also added new pre-trade controls to automatically counter disruptions going forward. This includes an automatic cancellation of the remaining portion of any order that immediately moves the market price by more than 20% in either direction. They also added a confirmation dialogue box that warns customers before placing any order that could potentially move the market price by more than 20% in either direction

In terms of post-trade adjustments, Gemini will remove records of reversed trades from the market data API and the historical trade data on the exchange website.

Customers party to such trades will still see a record of their portion of the trade and its reversal in their account history.

In other news, "EU clamps down on bitcoin, anonymous payments to curb terrorism funding" though digital currency is not the only thing they are proposing to crack down on "strengthen controls of non-banking payment methods such as electronic/anonymous payments and virtual currencies and transfers of gold, precious metals, by pre-paid cards,". It's a sad event that occurred and has the potential to have even greater consequences by brash reactive action.

They should read their own research once in a while. As usual, financial "regulators" rush in where wise men fear to tread. Hopefully, the public will not take this threat to financial freedom lying down although, that may be wishful thinking on my part. It has been shown throughout history that "knee jerk" reactions only fuel the fires of ignorance. Good research, level headed thought and public involvement put the flames out.

The chart says something different - It looks like they need to crack down on cash and banks.  Here's a good one (if you follow the twisted logic of the EU):  The banks are handing out the cash which is used to buy the bitcoin, so the banks are at fault (the buck stops here rule).  Grin

What they are missing, AGAIN, is that cash is 100% anonymous and bitcoin leaves a trail.  sigh...
Well, of course. That makes perfect sense. ISIS reportedly has several million dollars in Bitcoin assets, so crack down on Bitcoin. They're also reported to have at least a BILLION dollars in other currency assets, so... oh look: a squirrel!

DNotes
Quote
"if money is primarily used in economic transactions between two people, then it makes a lot of sense to me." That is DNotes’ ultimate goal. I have mentioned that in a number of my previous posts, that when the vast majority of DNotes transactions are between two parties, there will be little doubt that DNotes is superior to fiat currency. Getting to that point will take years and a lot of strategic positioning and great executions.

It will be great if we can write an article about this subject for DCEBrief. DNotes is a long term large scale global project that will take years or even decades to reach its ultimate goal - to facilitate the vast majority of the transactions between two parties. If you understand our ultimate goal you will understand and appreciate all the extra work and commitments we have subjected ourselves to. It is a lot of very hard work and not always a lot of fun. We believe that for DNotes to be the trusted global digital currency for everyone world to participate, thereby gaining mass acceptance - that is what it takes.

What has DNotes been doing differently?

1. Culture

Recognizing the fragmented and chaotic nature of our industry, we started by  creating a culture of mutual respect, cooperation, and team work resulting in a productive and rewarding community atmosphere many characterized as “refreshing”. DNotes is now a respected currency with a purpose. This has made it possible for DNotes to have its own ecosystem system without outside funding. It is quite an amazing accomplishment for anyone who knows what it takes.

2. A trusted Brand

DNotes has built a trusted brand and will continue down that path. TRUST is invaluable in financial services. A significant of part DNotes future growth will involve financial services.

3. Dedicated Long Term Commitment

The DNotes team and many of its stakeholders are long term investors. The vast majority of them are net buyers investing for the long term. We do not participate in pump and dump. Unfortunately, trading bots including some likely operated by some exchanges are making price stability nearly impossible to achieve. We will continue to support the market but becoming very reluctant to “feed the bot”. We are less concerned about volatilities until we start promoting DNotes as a medium of exchange. By then, we believe that other mechanisms will be in place to address that issue.

4. Women’s Full Participation - CryptoMoms

We are totally committed to encourage and assist women’s participation in the digital currency space. It is most encouraging to note that CryptoMoms broke the record of 13,000 registered members today after being launched less than 1 ½ years ago. Expect us to be doing a lot more to empower women in the future. I will personally be heading up a major project to assist women small business owners. Anyone, interested to participate may contact me. Women should not be left behind in this massive emerging industry.

5. Saving For The Future – CRISP

Everything that we do for DNotes is done for strategic reasons or for a good cause; positioning DNotes to accomplish the ultimate goal of mass acceptance on a global scale. It is not how big the project is at launch, but how well positioned it is for global expansion at the appropriate time.

Our family of CRISPs for children, students, employees and retirees are designed to fulfill our mission to make DNotes available for everyone worldwide to participate. We believe that disciplined savings for long term, done on a regular is a good thing for everyone. Our job is to provide for the convenience, safety, and long term appreciating value of DNotes. Consequently, DNotes is managed as a business, but not controlled as a business.

6. DNotesVault

DNotesVault is a significant service for our stakeholders, at no cost.  It is easier to open a DNotes Vault account than a bank account. It is also secure. We guarantee 100% of your deposit through a separate cold storage account, secured in a different location, with an amount always in excess of the total deposit. The guaranteed funds are verifiable any time through the blockchain.

7. DCEBrief

DCEBrief is the latest addition to our ecosystem built to provide objective, unbiased news on the latest developments in the world of digital currency, in “Executive Summary” format, with no fluff or filler. DCEBrief's mission is to ensure decision makers, busy executives and everyday people worldwide can access the information they need, to help them understand the often misunderstood Digital Currency industry.

The DNotes’ Difference:

If you are new to DNotes, we hope you got a better sense of the DNotes’ difference. Our ultimate objective is for DNotes to gain mass acceptance as the digital currency of choice in global commerce, where the vast majority of the DNotes transactions are between two parties without the control of any central authority or middleman. We are not hoping that it could happen. We have been executing multiple strategic plans to make it happen. DNotes and its ecosystem is not just a vision or a wishful business plan; it is a large scale global project with completed solid foundation and multiple functioning systems as outlined above. As we expand, there will be many opportunities in different areas. Get to know us early, if you have exceptional skill-sets and like to be a part of our team. Feel free to PM me.

I absolutely love this last post DYNA. It was written in the order that said goals and tasks were achieved. Having read this whole forum from the beginning of DNote's existence, I can recall each of these steps and projects being announced as the new 'priority' one by one, and each of these key points was addressed and achieved before moving onto the next project, consuming more and more time to ensure goals are achieved with limited resources.

How many other crypto communities can you think of that focussed on cultural changes and becoming a trusted brand, as opposed to coming up with some worthless immediate feature that would serve their interest as a pump and dump? Then how many actually pulled through and built on their solid foundation they created with new projects that are in line with industry demands (both short and long term) one by one? These projects are thought of ahead of time with the idea of maximising the chances of success. It is patently obvious to me, however I think the reason why DNote's is such a hidden gem still, is that entrepreneurial and general strategy is a skill not very well understood by the vast majority, and this is clear when you take a look at nearly any other crypto venture and community.

To take but a look at the continually revised and calculated goals, new projects undertaken with a long-term success outlook in mind (not obvious to many in the immediate term) and the incredible cost of funding said projects without outside help, makes it very obvious this team means business. The plan is announced to have a funded company form in the near-future, that is when the real 'business' will begin, and I'm sure this community will receive massive exposure and investor interest. More interesting to me though, is the 'consumer interest'. I can't wait til I can tell people what I do, and not need to explain what "DNotes", "Blockchain" and "Bitcoin" are Smiley

Thank you for this post TeeGee, it is encouraging to see how well people understand exactly what we are trying to do. Alan's post outlined the major points we have been working towards, it was great timing to have a post like this, as we are thinking about the next steps, the future company, and how to give our programs a big push.

Our next big accomplishment will be Alan's book. Which will get us started into the new business, and start paving the road for our eCommerce, small business and merchant programs, payment network, and associated CRISP for Employees and Retirement. As well as getting the word about the importance of digital currency and DNotes out to business professionals and entrepreneurs. Very exciting times ahead.

Great article here Edmund C. Moy (former director of the US Mint) talks at the bitcoin investor conference about how bitcoin can privatize money again.

“[One] reason why I like cryptocurrencies and where my mind has gone on all this is that when you take a look at our earliest notions of money — money was in private hands. You found electrum, which is basically a mixture of gold and silver in the ground. Sizes were important, and if you just pounded it into a mold — and you use that in trade, so money was very — it was in private hands, it was the ultimate democratization of money.”

“Well, I see bitcoin as the improvement in technology that allows money to be privatized again, back where it should be because it is my belief that one of the main uses of money is economic transactions. Why is government involved in economic transactions except for the ability to tax that transaction and get their income out of it? So, if money is primarily used in economic transactions between two people, then it makes a lot of sense to me that — if current technology allows, then money should be privatized because it’s used between two people.”

Wow. What a manifesto. I feel like I just read something that was nailed on a door 500 yers ago. Refreshing roadmap, explains our mission very well.

Yes, I agree. Hopefully it will be posted on a door somewhere in 20 years or so and people will look back and say, "That is how it all started!"
