If you guys want me to do it, I'll make the new OP thread but honestly, I was waiting until the weekend because Greedyjohn had said he'd get more skilled help. But I've heard nothing. I'm ready to release and have this thread locked if everyone else is ready after I contact the mods, but I wanted to give some time so people can prepare and add to the OP if they wanted to help.

If anyone has anything to add or assist with, then now is the time or wait until after the new thread is started. PM me or post here. Otherwise, I'm moving forward with the new OP by Sunday. We've waited a long time for this, so a few more days won't hurt anything. If things change, I'll let you know.

Thanks for your patience, everyone.

I have gone through the old OP info I had, which I updated and edited out old dead links. The OP will be similar to the OP we have now but with minor differences. Some of the material I'm leaving on the OP is outdated but is still informational enough, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsveJc_qss0
What I'm talking about when I say "outdated" is the orangecoins.info link in the video which I can do nothing about, but all of the other info in the video is still good. As of now, I have all of the videos that work on the OP. Thoughts? Personally, I think we should leave them until someone else makes new ones with new info.

I'll be away for the rest of the day.

Digging through my tablet, I found some things I had from the other forum. Found 2 things among some OC artwork. One thing was the "pos" staking guide which has been posted under "Tutorials" on the website. And the best thing ever!!!!! I have a copy of the OP from the old website. One thing though, I have to sort through it and edit out a lot of dead links like the videos, and translations. The reason this is good is because it contained more updated info than the OP here. Wish I had the coin control tutorial saved, oh well, but I'm sooooooo relieved.  Grin Grin Grin

Stay tuned.

While the ANN was down I took the liberty to raise the price a bit  Wink Wink Grin Grin Nice work everyone! Keep it up.

And yes the site does need work. But it's a start none the less.

The website is a very basic website, just for purposes of when btctalk goes down like what just happened (talk about perfect timing). Weebly is a free website, I can't do much with the templates they have. Also, I would prefer not to invest tons of time into the website, reason is when someone picks up the reigns for a proper website with hosting and almost boundary-less formatting, guaranteed nodes can be coded into the github for instant connection when someone opens the client versus trying to find peers before syncing. I will add more to the site when I get a chance, existing links from our OP, tutorials, etc, etc, so that when someone does make a better site, they can copy and paste as much or as little as they want. Just don't expect too much from a quick-fix free website like weebly.

I totally agree, just stating then what is already known then.

Cheers and keep up the good work.

Any chance for a new Mac wallet? Will anything bad happen if I open my current one and stake?

Try it, but back up your wallet.dat first and match up the block count in your wallet to the explorers before moving any coins. It should be ok to use the old client, a hard fork was not required for 1.0.5. It would be in the best interest for a 1.0.5 Mac wallet to be developed. Soopy had mentioned his Mac was down so we'll see.

I have tweeted to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/oc/ to have them update OC's info and remove the checkpoint message.
I just donated 0.099 BTC to extend https://chainz.cryptoid.info/oc/ site hosting date.

Nice! Smiley

I've been informed the info has been updated. Great customer service, I tell ya!

Here is a new website. By all means, if someone else wants to create a better site, go for it. I will be updating the site with more pages and links, but wanted to get something up before the 1.0.5. links got buried in the forum. If anyone can help me remember what we had listed at the orangecoins.info, it would be helpful.

Also we should update the front page if we can to reflect the updates regarding to Orange Coin. If it's possible.
I doubt if it would be possible, because the old DEV has long gone.

A new OP is in my list of things to do.
