Hi Halofire,

I just saw that Cryptsy wants identification to be verified. Does this mean you have to do so to trade on Cryptsy ? Or, is it still possible to trade with no verification ?

Would be great if you knew, thank you .

Any USA based exchange that deals with the USD will require you to prove who you are IF you decide to trade your cryptos for fiat. If you are planning on alt-alt trades only, you don't have to sign up. And yep, cryptsy will abide the law just like a bank, so if 'underground' is your style, stay away from America.

Cryptsy, Bittrex, Poloniex, Coinbase are all american if you guys didn't know.

EDIT: I used to use https://crypto-trade.com when I was mining UTC way back when, but MT GOX scandal happened and CT held our coins for a week, causing UTC to lose 75% since CT was the main exchange for UTC at the time. Mintpal was just born shortly after. Anyhow, CT is based in Hong Kong and will trade BTC/USD anon last I knew, but I haven't used CT since Feb/Mar. Withdrew my coins and hadn't batted an eye since.
Thank you Halofire  Smiley

Contest Fund Financial Statement

Well, I'm only human and I made an error. I sent the remaining coins needed to pay the "250 First Member Giveaway" at orangecoins.info/forum which I am now taking over the payouts from my own wallet. No big deal, but I sent the coins to the wallet with the contest fund. I sent a couple of giveaway payments out of the CF by accident, forgot to set the coin control every time, in case anyone checks the explorer.

The CF should have 30,716.610135 and will be maintained as such. Need the transactions to go through before I can fix it.

Transparency at it's finest Wink

Edit: Looks to be 95 and 93 OC were sent out so far, more were sent but I'm not tracing it through all of the splits.

I resent the coins to the fund, everything is supposed to be where it is. Sorry for the confusion, folks.

this coin needs some more action to be honest.
Since the announcement of masternodes i've just been watching this go down +/- 400%.

Other than the dev's coding, what would you like to see us do? Have ideas? Smiley

edit:
How about a reddit? Does anyone want to create a reddit for Orangecoin? www.reddit.com

Is anyone else having sync issues?

I downloaded the new 1.0.4 wallet and tried to sync from fresh.

I get to block 10 000 and then it just stays there.

I'm getting a lot of these warnings/errors in my log.

ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: read txPrev failed
WARNING: ProcessBlock(): check proof-of-stake failed for block 3885c0a20f393c935affab1b31e4d5224d2fdbc09d436f19f9f83176c010bdc0
received block 420a3ccffef3c2d24aa7

yes same thing with me too!!!!!
I closed the wallet and opened again it synced to 10500 and stuck then I closed and open again synced to 11000 then stuck again then closed and open 4th time it has synced all the way to end.

just try it a few times. I only have a mac wallet but it seems to be the same.

Then it works without complaints  Wink

This worked like you said.

Thanks

Thank you for reminding me guys, I have it on my to-do list, to look in to this issue. While closing and opening the wallet does fix this, it's not an acceptable solution to have to do this.  This issues was present in the wallet  before 1.0.4, and will be fixed ASAP

Yup

Ah yes, thanks, I remember now. I will write it on my "OC" pad as not to forget again.
All I can do though is remind the dev.

The contest isn't necessarily linked to the MN, it can run as a standalone and was originally intended to be so. Contest attracts more publicity for the MN and OC, so it only made sense to marry the two ideas. You'll see how it comes together in its entirety.

Votes increased by ~30% and that is great news! If you were looking for an update, sorry to burst your bubble, haha.

Maybe we should wait for the wallet fix where it gets stuck before we launch any kind of contest.  This way anyone new the coin can get started without seeing a broken wallet.

The wallet gets stuck?

Who cares about mintpal anymore? Mintpal is dead. Poloniex is smaller then bittrex and cryptsy, i don't know if cryptsy will really add any values. It is time for innovation!!! only that will move a coin higher, and of course the pumps and dumps. Just too much coins, there is no reason for investors to invest in Orange coin (with the exceptions of buying low and wait for a pump and dump it)

You are right with what you said and you know why I post voting time  Wink
And the whole pump and dump action is normal in this business.
Only the coinquality and time can show who will really succed.
Acceptance is necessary without that it is only speculation.
But that is why we are here and the coinquality was in the meantime really good.
When MN hits everything will be perfect. Good time to grab a few cheap OCs. Grin

Here's the OP info on OUR MN. Many things are different than CAIX.
Look what I've bolded and underlined. Smiley

Orangecoin Masternodes
Official Masternode Specifications Presentation Link
Masternode Specifications.
Year 1:  PoS  20%   MN 2%
Year 2:  PoS  10%   MN 1%
Year 3:  PoS    5%   MN 0.5%
Year 4:  PoS  2.5%  MN 0.25%
Orangecoin Masternodes are in development for the use in Orangecoin network to help offer anonymous transactions and reward users for doing so. Each Masternode will require 2000 OC to enable, with full server guides to be released prior to code and client release.
If you plan on running an Orangecoin Masternode it is recommended to have experience in network security and administration.

When will the code be released?
When we are 100% confident in the code it will be released to the public. We are ensuring this is done right.
How do I set up a Masternode?
Full instructions will be given prior to launch.
How many coins will I get?
In the first year there will be around 1 million OC given to Masternodes. Depending on the number of Masternodes depends on the rewards.
When will I get paid?
The current adaption is looking at 30 days, this may change.
Where are the extra coins coming from?
Total OC still remains at 200 Million. The coins will be taken of the total years from 46 down to 41.
What’s so special about OC Masternodes?
Our process unlike some “Masternodes” intends to be 100% automated, using original ideas from Darkcoin and adding our own.

Hope that clears up some of the confusion.

Thanks for info. I guess that info (experience in network security and administration) rule me out of MN. I will be happy to stake normally without MN. Good thing is the masternode interest is extra 10% of normal stake interest so I will not miss out on anything much.
